Hi I like Castlevania now.
A week or two ago I finished breezing through 8 of them. 1, 3, 4, SotN, RoB original, AoS, DoS, and PoR. It was so damn fun.
Definitely looking forward to Order of Ecclesia.
One thing I gotta say though, is that while I did rush through them all, I noticed Castlevania has some really fucking nice art. And thankfully OoE will be getting rid of that anime art. Didn’t mind it, but the older art just worked better.
Also has good music, too. In fact everything is good about Castlevania.
Props if you really did breeze through the very first game. I could never pass Death.
Hm…I don’t remember if I had too much trouble with him on 1. On 4 he really gave me a hard time, but thats only because I had no subweapon.
It’s always the goddamn sickles with him. :\

I don’t have much time to play it, but I’ll definitely try and get to playing it soon.
Everyone’s talking about it in the DS thread. I’m playing it though, and it’s great. Pretty challenging, too.
Oh damn. I didn’t even know this game was out. IGN gave it a 9.0, so I assume it’s great. Gotta figure out how to afford this now. :lol:
Oh hey I talked about Order of Ecclesia in the Castlevania Judgement Thread and the Game Release Schedule thread lol! Anyway I like it a lot so far. I beat the first boss, got past the first village (you can walk into people’s houses and the homes are stacked up on top of each other, just like Castlevania II!!!), made it through the woods, (Castlevania II, again!) and I croaked on a Stage with a big boat, that’s where I’m at now! :tup:
Don’t recall if I posted here before but I love Castlevania! I’ve been with the series since part 1 and every time they come out with a new game I walk to the video game store like a zombie and pick it up lol! Played every single one except for the colorless GBA ones and Bloodlines, which I’m hoping they part to something someday…
My favorite game in the series is Super Castlevania. I cried like a bitch when I had to sell it along with all my Super Nintendo games to pick up a PS1, man those were tough times… Super Castlevania being on the Virtual Console was a big selling point for me, for getting the Wii. Once I had Super Castlevania I put every game to the side to play through it once again. Symphony, 1-3, all of the GBA, DS and PSP handheld games are great but Super to me is a classic game that I can never get tired of. :tup:

Yeah I had it reserved and got it yesterday. Like usual, 10/21 was the shipping date, 10/22 was the release date. Always add one day to whatever date you see online.

actually i was able to get the game on the 21st…im liking it so far, im pretty deep into it so i dont really want to start talking about stuff until it seems that most people are far enough to talk about whats going on…

I heard this one’s a little more old school style/linear, is this true? Can someone explain a lil if so? Bloodlines followed by Dracula’s Curse are easily my favorites of the series, so any hint of kinda going back sounds great to me. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved all the recent Castlevanias as well (though I never finished Circle of the Moon or Portrait of Ruin), it’s just that they seem so much less focused and whole. Less of an experience I guess you could say.
Yeah it’s alot more linear like the og 'Vanias, which I’m loving right now, it’s refreshing ironically.
If you’re looking for ‘Metroidvania’ you are NOT going to get with this title.
