Just caught news of C:OoE and I am fucking hyped. I found joy from the previous, linear Castlevanias, but the more complete metroid build has enveloped me more. This fresh start hard mode run with lvl.1 cap should be good prep. for what’s coming.
Hahaha I outsmarted SRK’s broken search function with google site:shoryuken.com assist
So is anyone here baller at CV1? I’m trying to beat two rounds of it on one credit or one life, depending on how patient I am (the game loops infinitely, but I think every loop after the second is the same shit so I’m fine with stopping after two) and I have all of it figured out except the very first section of the last level, with all the level-1-boss-style bats.
I’m going into the level with triple holy water, so for the bats beneath the broken bridge I can just light up the floor under my feet and they get stunned when they attack, but the ones up in the air seem totally random. Usually they start off with just some kind of slow drifty shit then sit there and do nothing, but I can never figure out what makes them dive bomb you, if it’s anything in particular (distance from the enemy or whatever) and not just the random number generator.
I can take Death with triple crosses, so if that helps I can switch. It’s just annoying, I seem to get through this area without any trouble if I’ve been fucking up and the bats just randomly decide they hate me if I’m on my first life. I don’t know if it’s bad luck or if this game has shmup-style rank difficulty or whatever…
Yeah, they seem to, which sucks. But there’s a lot of stuff in CV1 that looks really random, like the merman spawn timing in level 4 on the loop, but you can actually get consistent results if you haul ass as fast as possible and stop in specific spots.
Loop level 4 is where I lose all like 7 of my lives as it stands now (unless I lost one on the motherfuck bats), so it’s not like it isn’t hard, but…
Yeah me too, sometimes they just sit there and watch me go and sometimes I end up taking one hit on the first one and two on the second. Pain in the ass since the meat in that level might as well be inaccessible.
He’s actually pretty easy with the triple cross because you can knock out about half of his lifebar before the first scythes spawn, although the area with the medusa heads and axe armors is a pain in the ass without holy water.
Aand died on Frankenstein in the third round of CV1 (he started moving before I could stun lock him with the holy water and I got fucked up by Igor, I’m not sure if I mistimed it or if he just gets ultra fast after two loops) so I guess I met my goal, time to move on to CV3 or Chronicles or something.
Order looks like what the Sorrow games should have been in terms of the magic usage. It looks really solid and is looking to be the best artistically and creatively out of all of the DS games.
seriously this game looks awesome. I’m a big fan of dub rukia’s voice… but I still hope for a japanese language option (probably hold L at the title like PoR).
