This is what has been eating at me the most. Yes Floyd is supremely deft boxer, but there were several times Manny literally had him completely cornered off with a lot of pressure then literally leaped far back and take a stance for no reason. My stream was slightly delayed so I could see this happen in detail time and time again in slow-mo. There was absolutely no excuse for Manny to let him go, NONE.

Yeah I agree 100%, I can only assume it was his coachâs game plan. But it wasnât working, and they continued to use it over and over for some reason. It should have been obvious very early that he was not going to win the points game so why his corner had him keep fighting that way is beyond my understanding.
Thatâs why I said Pacâs corner dropped the ball. Based on that performance alone had me question roach getting coach of the year this year. They looked totally unprepared
At most, I can see Roach telling him not to punch himself out. Floyd was very obviously going for Rope-a-Dope a few times during the fight and pretty much egging on Manny to flurry him while he couldnât feel a thing. But yeah, he was letting Floyd out of the corner too easily.
Everything else in the gameplan though Manny just refused to follow. Running straight into the jab, going for the head too often, not coming in from angles.
Maybe Manny and his corner were hoping Floyd would get hit with full retard mode. Maybe they were watching too much Hajime no Ippo.
I watched it twice and it seemed like Manny might have backed off because while he got a few punches through, most were being blocked and it didnât look like he had Floyd in danger. Probably was concerned with punching himself out. Both times he did that (in 4th and 6th), he won the rounds, so itâs not like it was a bad move on his part, he just needed to do it more.
Yeah like, the thing is⌠If manny had of kept the pace of the first 6 rounds, it would have been a really close fight. But this fight was like a typical mayweather fight where hes impossible to hit and it gets even harder as the rounds go on. What I dont get is mayweather just kept leaning so far down⌠Pac didnt throw hardly any bodyshots or uppercuts⌠like i was freaking out during the fight. How does your corner not tell you to dig to the body during those scenarios.
