Completely disagree with this. If thatās the case than literally no one would give a shit about Arturo Gatti. The entire reason he became famous is because he had some of the most crazy comeback KOās in the 12th round when there was no other chance to win scenario. Why in gods name would people care about the wars of people like Barrera vs Morales or Gatti vs Ward if it was just based on wins and losses. Maybe the new age pro scene is like that but it sure as shit wasnt like that years ago. No one gave a shit that Duran had no business fighting haggler but he did it anyways because it would be a war. Those are the moments that make boxing great. Not saying thats how professional boxing works but if you dont think how you win is a huge part of it i think youāre kidding yourself. Look at triple G man. The fact that he has KOās is crazyā¦ but what ACTUALLY makes it crazy is how many of those KOās come within the first round/first 3 rounds.
Boxing rules are more strict, thatās why you get more guys like Mayweather that win on straight technique. Even with technique in MMA you can lose because there are so many different ways you can handle your opponent, you can be a master in standup with poor ground or vice versa. MMA is cool like that, itās exciting, it has a lot of variety, it does reward a jack of all trades skillset over specialists though. All traditional combat sports like boxing, karate, taekwondo and judo are specialist sports. Guys doing certain things, like punching, incredibly well at the exclusion of other stuff.
MMA fans that were not fans of fight sports before MMA are critical of other sports because they think their sport is āreal,ā fighting but that āreal,ā fighting can be lying on a mat for fifteen minutes. MMA isnāt always hype. Even when it is hype, fights are real short. From a spectator standpoint itās like fighting for people with short attention spans that donāt want to sit back and break the dynamics down.
I respect a lot of mma training, I hate how they punch though. I always felt that a lot of mma fighters keep their hands too low, punch too wide and lead with their heads. Honestly I am not sure why they havenāt been taught those basics of defense.
For example Mcgreggor calling out Floyd. Like we know you would body him in the octagon, goes without saying. But if you think you will give him problems in a boxing ring then you are stuck on retarded. That makes no sense to me. Thats like Tom Brady saying he could beat Lebron James in a game of football. Boxing and MMA are two different sports under combat sports, they are handled differently.
I do agree with how refs in boxing use their discretion though. They are good about letting a lot of things go. Even when Wlad got deducted a point for clinching he was still doing it to some degree throughout the fight. I agree Floyd should have at least got a stern warning if not a point deducted, but I doubt it would have changed much. Manny was just off, he was flat footed, punching off balance and not really doing much throughout the fight. Roach got trainer of the year and he should have prepped Manny better for the fight. Especially since you know Floyd is a mobile fighter. Honestly Mannyās camp looked terribly ill prepared.
The first 5-6 rounds of that fight was Maidana bullrushing Floyd to the ropes or corner, grabbing and throwing crazy overhands.
People can cheer for who you want, but the fight wasnāt close and the better guy won. Similarly for fans crying about bias judges in Vegas as if the he never fought in Vegas before.

The funny thing about you thurst is that you really are a floyd mark, not a boxing/fight fan as you want to claim. You donāt care as to how floyd wins itās just for the sake of manny losing. You in the past showed no credit to pacās wins against DLH and Cotto because of the draining condition yet here you are all ok about all the conditions given by floyd: ring size so he can run around better, specific gloves, and now this overdone clitching. Wlad had reductions because of his clitching and he did not do it as much or in the same manner as floyd did. Floydās clinching involved headlocks and was used as defensive tactics when he was about to go in a corner. Pac couldnāt even land a 4th punch when he managed to get in that defense because as soon as the third came, floyd clinched him. That is how it was during the majority of the rounds. For you to be all arrogant over this win regardless of specific rules being broken shows you really donāt give a shit about the sport. We pay money to see good fights that is why MMA is more liked now in boxing because their they donāt take out rules, they donāt let fighters make terms for their matchesā¦ they make sure we the public get a fair fight.
