Yeah, Floyd dances in the ring. All good defensive boxers do. Manny moves fast as well though, he prowls and weaves in order to circle his opponents. If this fight is half the fight most people are expecting it to be it’s going to be one hell of a watch.
They talking about boxing IQ not actual intelligence. I don’t see what’s racist about that though. He left school at 3rd grade, and if he did get a college degree I’m 100% sure it’s an honorary degree just to satisfy whatever requirements($$$) he needs to work politics in the Philippines.
I laid it out pacquiao wins by ko in first 5 rounds
After that mayweather adapts and outboxes him
He needs to break ribs and hit liver blows
FrostyAU: SF09ers:Mayweather is a counterpuncher like Marquez except Mayweather is on a whole nother level even Marquez admits he is the best. When Marquez talks about Manny he literally says he is too dumb. Manny is gonna get frustrated with Mayweathers impeccable defense get reckless and fall for the same trap again and Mayweather is gonna knock him out. Manny’s gonna whiff dp and get ultra’d basically cuz unlike Mayweather, who many consider to be a genius he is not smart enough to be able to adapt.
Disagree completely. Calling Manny uneducated is a joke. Some might say it’s a racist statement to make given how untrue it is. He studies the sport and outside of that he’s a congressman, has been for a number of years with a university education and a number of pieces of paper outside of boxing.

He passed an eligibility exam for college, did a lot of other stuff as well if you look it up, different courses and diplomas in different stuff.
Boxing IQ doesn’t make sense either. Manny put himself on the ropes against Cotto strategically to name one example of where he’s out - thought his opponents. There are a lot of examples of Manny out-smarting his opponents not just blitzing them. That’s why I’ve stressed a few times that even though he’s an aggressive fast puncher, he’s not a brawler, he just doesn’t have a paint - drying style like Floyd.
Anyway, pretty sure I’ve said my bit on this one now. We’ll watch the fight this weekend, talk more after it.

Interesting analysis from the legends. I’m so hyped for this fight!
After watching this, I think Mayweather will win it. I always thought he would win (I don’t want him to), but I just foresee Floyd adapting within the first 4-5 rounds. I hope Roach has been working on something special to bring him down.
Its funny how this is basically Ippo v Miyata in the flesh, lol.
Mayweather adapting usually means counter punching with advanced shoulder roll stuff instead of defending traditionally. Manny is a VERY powerful southpaw though, I see Mayweather’s lead shoulder getting smashed if he tries it. Mayweather is a technician but the thing about Manny is that he not only has technical still, he has power and aggression, he’s like a brawler with a brain and it’s a very dangerous combo as his own achievements show.
Anyone that thinks Mayweather has a chance of knocking Manny out, watch Manny vs. Miguel Cotto. Unless something enormous has changed since then that was ridiculous. That was straight Ali vs Foreman.
I really have this feeling that Mayweather will show something new. I actually think that the chances of Mayweather showing something we have never seen him show before is greater than the chances of Many showing something we have never seen him before. I liked Foreman’s take the most.
Not all experiments work. How often in a fighting game does a new strategy or pocket character blow up in your face. It’s the same in a sport like boxing. There are only so many legal ways to score points or counter what your opponent does, to pull something magic out that a guy like Manny hasn’t seen… I dunno. I actually have NO idea how Manny is being so underrated going into this, probably because Floyd is American, that’s all I can think. Same with how Wlad doesn’t get treated like other all time heavyweight greats despite his ridiculous knockout record. It’s a trend with American boxing fans for sure.
British media is way more one-sided in favoring Mayweather than Americans.
Look at it like this:
Fighter A is going to fight Fighter B. Fighter A is highly entertaining and generally well-liked by almost everybody. Fighter B is generally considered an asshole, but he’s undefeated over 47 fights. Fighters A and B have many mutual opponents that they both handled relatively decisively…except one against whom Fighter A fought an epic tetralogy where all but one of the decisions remains hotly argued over, the exception being the most recent fight which ended in a brutal KO of Fighter A. Fighter B also fought Fighter A’s rival and easily dominated him.Who do you expect people to favor? Oh yeah, Fighter B is also physically bigger and significantly taller.
Not saying Pac has no hope or even that it’d be particularly surprising if he won, but if you’re seriously wondering why more people aren’t going with Manny on this one then that speaks much more to your personal bias than anyone else’s.
Fighter B also hasn’t fought Fighter A who textbook, can beat him. You weigh it up, you analyse it, it’s not just wins and losses. Ali was 55 - 2, he ended 56 - 5. Mayweather might have 47 wins undefeated but he’s also OLDER than Manny and Manny has 57 wins and not many losses.
It’s less about the cold hard record, more about American media just buying what Mayweather is selling because he’s a black American, he fits the bill for a boxing great. Who’s ever heard of an Asian great? That’s Manny.
Do you actually watch boxing on American TV? Pretty sure you don’t and are just talking out of your ass. I watch British and American boxing telecasts and the Brits are way more effusive in their praise for Mayweather and usually incredulous at the idea that he could possibly lose.
SF09ers: FrostyAU:Also the jewels in Mayweather’s crown are the same guys Manny has beat like Cotto and
dab00g:That is a fucking dense way to look at coverage
It’s not even usa vs everyone else
Manny is the bonafide face against the heek mayweather.
Pundits, legends, and fans believe defense>offense
That’s true, but the Manny has the grit and speed to frustrate Floyd.
The problem is how many punches does manny eat to break floyd’s gaurd
Manny has insane defence, he just doesn’t believe in sleep inducing boxing. Watch some of his fights, watch Manny vs. Cotto, the full fight is on Youtube. Manny slips and weaves through everything. Manny wouldn’t have his legend status if all he could do is punch fast. He’s so much more than that.
Insane defense? Remember that time Marquez knocked him out?
The perfect counter. Manny dominated the fight. Marquez is also one of the pound for pound greats of our generation and Manny has beat him twice. Floyd only fought the guy once and it wasn’t a title fight like when Manny took his belt off him.
lol at least you recognize my nigga marquez was def robbed in one or two of those fights. most people will never admit that for some dumbass reason.

I’m Australian, I watch boxing on Fox Sports.
The reason manny has to eat shots to get his in, is the reach and defense of mayweather.
Darting in and out like does, may frustrate mayweather for 2 rounds.
I support usa and mayweather
Fuck the haters

If you think Mayweather is going to knock out Pacman you know nothing about Boxing. I’m sorry but just no. Even if he DOES somehow manage to knock him out the odds of it are so damn low if you analyze the fight that its just a stupid opinion. The other stuff you said I can see and maybe justify to an extent but its a pretty big stretch.
I think what could happen is if Floyd relies on his shoulder rolling that could be bad for him. Manny is the type of fighter that will hit whatever he can. Maybe that is what manny is hoping for. Hoping Floyd blocks his punches so he can just wear down his guard until he guard breaks him and goes for the KO. But if anyone has seen Floyd use his legs, it is a thing of beauty.
As for this, I’m not surpised. This is to an extent the new style age of thinking. People like Golovkin employ strategy based on the fact that landing a punch just means hitting something. Because no matter where it lands it does “damage”. That said I think if manny is banging away on Floyd’s shoulder like that, it means he’s even getting into the pocket in the first place. Which means floyd will be having a lot more problems anyways. I think people underestimate floyds range man. Hes got the absolute best range period. That said Manny closes the gap better than anyone, thats why its such an entertaining matchup.

You have two people that said that on the same page During my earlier post i said that manny robbed him for a few as well
Pretty cool vid showing Manny’s style in fights.
Also shows Floyd’s as well in the Mosley fight.
