I donāt mean I donāt believe theyāve agreed to it, I mean I donāt believe itāll happen until it actually does. This agreement being reported by anyone means nothing to me, given we had this fight set up years ago only to have it cancelled. So until Iām actually seeing them boxing in an actual match, Iām not going to assume some shit wonāt happen again this time to screw it all up.
Reports can say all they want between now and May 2. Iāll wait until that night.
Its odd because Iām not even hype for the news. If anything I feel like its past due, but whatever. Manny better work on his cardio and truly live boxing if he wants to win.
Honestly it is a toss up. I hope they release something similar to 24/7 to showcase the leading up to the fight.
Still think Mayweather/Khan would be a more interesting fight, but for the hype alone, Iām glad itās finally gonna happen. I just wish I was going to be back home so I could feast on all the salt from the Flips in my neighborhood.
Mayweather managed to do it, held this off until Pacquiao lost a step. 5 years ago I woulda favored Pac in this fight, now I think Mayweather probably takes it.
Not paying money to watch this, 5 years ago I probably would have. Only money Iām spending on this is gettin myself some chicken wings, fuck that.
I agree. Pacquiao must drop all his extra careers and focus right now on Mayweather because Mayweather may have done just that with him. My belief is that Mayweather took those 5 years to study and maybe watch Pac loose a step which is smart as hell if that is the case. Now is kinda a let down because 5 years ago was the time when both were at their best. I too would of favored pac if this happened 5-4 years ago but now i think Mayweather takes it.
This fight will suck if Mayweather wins just by a tiny few points because then youāll get the Mayweather fans going all dumb-arrogant and the Pacquiao fans being bitch soar complaining for a rematch.
one thing i put on mayweather over paq is consistency. hes been pretty damn consistent in his skillsā¦you may question if people are better than him, or question his out of the ring antics. but skill wiseā¦hes still elusive, hes still smart on point fighting and hes still fast as fuck for a dude in his 40s.
RIGHT NOW thereās probably nobody better than him. When Pac still had his quicker footwork, he had the combinations from odd angles needed to mix up Floyd and get past his defensive pulls and rolls, now he probably gets countered easily. As far as dropping his extra jobs to train just for this, I doubt it. Floyd is gonna win this, and then maybe go get arrested again idk.
i imagine him dropping everything for this fight. likeā¦i feel like the fucking beginning of star wars happening. āas if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.ā
Yes, but lets not forget as well that Floyd did look he was slipping (not as bad as manny) i mean Maidana could be seen like that lesser-manny, and we saw how he brawled the hell out of Floydā¦ and obviously we know Manny is way quicker, hits harder and has more combinations than Maidana, so in a sense there is a high interest. But yes, Pac has weakened too much in comparison to Mayweather and I really think Mayweather waited for this moment and took his time to fully study Manny.
5 years ago I had Pacquaio winning this, now I have Floyd winning a decision in what will be another boring Floyd match.
Almost everyone I know messaged me about this as if the news was hard to miss, so Iāll be watching it somewhere without having to pay at least. Like most people, my excitement has faded into curiosity for the fight now.
I have a feeling Floyd will simply outbox Manny. Unless Roach and Mannyās camp simply have the blueprint to tackling Floydās amazing boxing iq and breaking that defense I donāt see Manny winning. I donāt think Floyd will try to counter too much because he can run the risk of it not working. i think he will simply just outbox him.
Yeah but he has less than three months to really hardcore grind for it. Idk if that will be enough to make up for the slack that he had given himself over the years.
Yup the coward (Mayweather) played it real smart. Manny has been knocked out, heās much more past his prime than Mayweather is. Pacās style of quick flurries of powerful punches tons of movement is also something that deteriorates much faster with age than Floydās methodical defensive style. Manny isnāt as big as he was 5 years ago, while Floyd is just as hugeā¦so he got the contract completely in his favor.
