If Floyd fights and beats the winner of Cotto-Martinez for the MW title, where would you rank him all time? He’ll have won titles in 6 weight classes, from 130 to 160.
I’m not sure. I mean his skill is beyond great. But he is also boring to watch. When you look at Hearns, Ali, Tyson, there was something about their presence that made them stand out. Floyd is the epitome of textbook boxing, but he doesn’t really add much more to it when he fights.
There’s no doubt that Floyd is skilled. He has a high ring IQ, a great jab, excellent defense, and great footwork. Look at his fights with Hatton, Canelo, and Marquez to see how good his jab is.
I’m not qualified enough as a fan to rank him, but floyd goes down as one of the greatest of all time for me. People have tried to beat him in different ways, but all have failed. I think he is just too good for most boxers, and they really dont understand that until they get in the ring and feel that pressure, that demoralization, that wall they cannot surpass, and the speed, strength, and accuracy he gives. He is calm in the ring most of the time, and that confidence oozes out, putting fear into the hearts of his opponents. I dont think floyd cannot be beaten, but i doubt any of these pussies will ever be skilled enough to do it.
Betting against floyd is like betting against justin wong, just put your money away before you lose it. lol
Some people accuse Floyd of cherry-picking. While yes, there are people he didn’t fight, he’s still fought some good names. He fought and beat Hatton, Corrales, Genaro Hernandez, Marquez, Canelo, and Guerrero. All of them are or were champions. It’s just that those guys weren’t on his level.
