The Boardwalk Empire Thread

Very insightful, I really thought Capone had ordered the hit.

no he didn’t. and it can’t b the end, Rothstein hasn’t died yet. moar joe the boss

G’damn!

This episode proves that there are things worse than death, and that’s overwhelming guilt.

Spoiler

_Chalky maybe a grimy fella, but not even he deserved to see his eldest daughter gunned down like that; conversely Harrow. I sincerely hoped he would’ve had a happy ending, but they made the final hours of his life even worse than ever.

Kind of random, but I recommend you peeps to watch Seven Psychopaths, it’s a pretty fun ride. Darmody and Rothstein are in it too. lol

I just don’t know how Harrow got got. Who would have known it to be him? I think he just got hit by a bullet when they fired up at him, because I don’t recall a bullet wound in his head or some shit. But who knows.

Of course he got hit by a bullet from them. He wasn’t limping out of the club and onto the beach for no reason.

Rather pointless using a silencer since they all knew where the shot came from lol

Yo guys still watching this!? Lets talk about it!

~So Charlie is making his move in New York and finally get to see Benny/Buggsy? show he’s a real hitta. Shooting up whore houses and shit like it ain’t nothing.

~I wish they would actually show wtf happened to Chaulky and how he ended up in jail/on the run and where the hell he’s going.

~The flashbacks to lil Nucky are not needed but I guess its okay to see some history I guess???

~SOOOOOOO why the fuck did they kill off fine milf tigolbitties Sally? I don’t understand how Nucky is walking around AC with muscle 24/7 but doesn’t leave any people to guard his interest in Havana? Even after he had someone try to kill him and he KNOWS people are trying to take him out?? That didn’t make any sense.

~Capone.

Capone is now on top, it took 5 seasons. Dude shows how unhinged a sociopath on syphilis can be.

All those flashbacks on Nucky’s life is painting a better picture of his character, and so his death becomes a little more somber than it normally would be. He’s been a nigh irredeemable scumbag for the past 2 seasons or so.

I liked that he and Margaret were getting along. Adding Joseph “Joe” Kennedy to the mix was nice, I wonder what the Kennedy dynasty think of his portrayal?

Miss Bigtits made some really dumb decisions that lead to her demise, it’s hard to pity her and I hate that there was never a nude scene. sigh

Lastly, Chalky White’s and crazy broad’s story seem kind of tacked on, I hope they tie this all in.

I’m liking the final season so far.

Season has started off very well. I forgot how Chalky ended up in chains, I thought he was on run.

Nucky is more likable now, all monsters were children once. I understand now why they pursued careers in law enforcement.

Capone is even more insane, I really thought Zod was done for. The Empire State Building just reminded me of Superman 2

Chalky was arrested for killing his own daughter, no?

Spoiler

loved Lil Nuck busting Commodore looking at CP

awh shit was that what it was!? Dirty bastard

Spoiler

the girl in the picture was Alice Liddell; the muse for Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland series. pretty tragic on Liddell’s part because she understood Carroll was in love with her but she was too young(naive) to understand why.[/details]

EDIT:

[details=Spoiler]also she didn’t understand why he fell out of love with her when she became a consenting age

Who was the guy who played young adult Nucky? He looked eerily like Buscemi.

The scene with Gillian in the psych ward with that woman who got a hysterectomy was sad. To think this sort of inhumane treatment was really happening back then for the sake of “medical advancement”.

I wonder if that actor who looked like a believable younger Steve Buscemi had a ton of prosthetic makeup on (the fake teeth were obvious), or unfortunately actually looked like him. Either way, his mannerisms were spot on, good job on his part.

The whole Swedish chick Eli affair felt forced and unnecessary really. I can only see it being a setup for Eli getting murked once the dust settles. lol @ the scene between VanAlden and his Swedish wife:

VanAlden to Eli: “I for one refuse to be ruled by fear”

Swedish Wife: “Come here hus-band!”

jumps up in fright “Yes dear!”

So Chalky seeded up “The Daughter”, I wonder if he’ll actually not try and get revenge or start anew due to this revelation, like Nucky insisted?

Spoiler

Naw…

That was perfect casting choice, dude even had the little mannerism like the nod, the voice completely nailed.

LOL Eli having the delayed morning after flashbacks :joy:

I think Nucky knows he won’t be coming out of this alive, he has nobody to protect him unless Capone sides with him (he did say he had a dream about Atlantic City).

Van Alden was the man, though. Motherfucker just refused to give up in life.

Oh my damn…

Wooo, 2 eps left

Spoiler

kinda salty that Chalky went out without a fight

The van alden death was great he just couldnt take it anymore hahaha

Can someone clear up Gillians backstory? I remember them going into detail in an earlier season. She was impregnated by the commodore as a child prostitute but who introduced them? I thought the girl brought to the commodore earlier in the episode was Gillian, dont remember hearing about her being a pickpocket. Can someone clear it up?

This season deserved 12 eps just like the others. Fuck this disrespectful 8 ep bullshit.
