The Boardwalk Empire Thread

Gillian dramatized much of her life, so it’s easy to say she omitted things about herself and twisted facts.

Van Alden got capped in manner than befitted that loon.

Chalky I think wanted to die from the get-go, after the loss of his daughter I think he just gave up on everything. I was hoping he’d at least have his revenge, but alas…

Van Alden was the best storyline on the show.

If it wasnt for Jimmy I’d agree

If it means better writing overall I’m all for it, no point stretching it out otherwise

His storyline is dead, just like him.

Spoiler

Jimmy trolling from the grave. That was some Red Dead Redemption shit.

Good end.

Nucky has had a great character arch, backed him at the beginning, then as soon as he off’ed Jimmy I hated him. He slowly got back into my good books at the end.

I didn’t think they needed to dramatize the way Nucky died considering he died of old age in real life and the show had been reasonably accurate for much of the events that transpired for the major players.

That said, it was still appropriate.

I liked that Capone could only be honest to his deaf son, showing that even short-fused murderous gangsters can have a heart.

Narcisse getting what he deserved and the formation of the crime syndicate was a nice closing point. I kind of hoped there would be at least one season showing their doings, but no biggie.

All in all, the series ended decently, season 2 is probably my favorite overall.

“You can’t be half a gangster”

Good ending. It’s been a fantastic journey, guys.

I hated the end.
