Unless you’s talking about Flex Mentallo lol, best mindfuck in comic history and beyond (cost alot of money too)
Morrison is hardly my favorite writer, but I appreciate his early work and still need to read his Swamp Thing run.
Probably getting a few bat themed titles Friday or Saturday, depending on what is out. I think I need me a new trade as well, the new Arkham one looks interesting. Last two I got were Joker and Arkham Asylum, overall I got those two, Hush somewhere, and Loeb/Sales Long Halloween and Dark Victory.
Batman and Robin was AWESOME this week as always! :nunchuck:
Not really feeling Batman Odyssey. I have nothing bad to say about it but it’s just not the type of Batman story I wish to read and 12 issues feels a bit long for a limited series. The artwork is really good because it’s Neal however but I won’t be back for the next 11 issues.
Morrison’s run on Swamp Thing wasn’t really much of a run. It was a four issue storyline he cowrote with Millar, back before Millar had really established himself in American comics.
AYO, do you have have Batman: Broken City in your collection? That’s a must-read, must-own book.
Also, I’m trying to get rid of my Long Halloween and Dark Victory TPBs…
Nah I don’t have Broken City, but I’ll look for it next time I am at the shop thanks. Only four issues really? Damn I thought it was more than that, oh well.
Batman & Robin was spectacular, I want to go back and catch up. Hell I didn’t even know what was going on before issue 12 and I was shocked as fuck when I found out Sexton was “You know who”.
Odyssey to me is odd. I LOVE Neal Adams, his art has always really inspired me and is one of the definite things I think of when Silver Age is mentioned. But his latest work seems very different, looks rushed or overly inked and lined. The scene where it showed the two cops and Gordon they all had the same face, it was like those magnetic things with faces that you could change their hair and stuff.
The story itself was ho-hum, not the best. And everytime I read Neal Adams work there is always Mexican bandit’s involved lol, I love it though, you hardly see that.
David Finch Writes AND Draws New Ongoing Batman Title - Comic Vine
David Finch, the recent cover artist for #700, is set to start his own Bat book as writer and artist. It’s called Batman: Dark Knight and will begin in November.
His art is great, but I have never read his writing so I can’t judge that part. Still, the idea of Batman once again busting cults and Demonology stuff is pretty interesting. Question is, which Bat will it be?
I like Finch’s art
but i don’t like when an artist staets doing thing he shouldn’t be doing like writing
like Tony Daniel for example
Usually ends badly, but hey, it’ll be a beautiful downfall. Still the concept intrigues me, I just want to know if it’s in or out of continuity.
Strangely, I think I would be more interested if Finch didn’t draw the comic he wrote.
The book that ties in to Return of Bruce Wayne, Time Masters: Vanishing Point, is coming out tomarrow. Im hoping it will be enlightening.
Anyone else still reading Red Robin? Im trying to give the new writer a chance, but I feel like im forcing myself to read it sometimes
I’m still reading, Nicieza is a really good writer
Batman Beyond #2 this week people, was a good issue though the ending wasn’t that surprising, although I don’t think it’s who we are being led to believe.
I am still enjoying the run, and hope that sales go well so I can get an ongoing on this. In other bat-related news, I got the last three issues of Batman I needed, which completes my entire Dick Grayson run on the series so far. going to get a copy of Time Masters and give it a shot, I like the cast and anything with BG/Rip Hunter is worth a look.
Just got The Batman: Under the Red Hood Blu-ray. I really enjoyed it. Even though he usual voice cast wasn’t doing it, I think everyone did REALLY well. The end kind of made me go “aww”. Jason is gdlk.
For anyone interested, a Batman Beyond complete series box comes out this November, similar to the Batman: TAS one from a few years ago. Square hard box, all the discs that look pretty, art book and various nick nacks. Amazon has it for $74.99, probably going to pre-order it when the date gets closer.
Posted this earlier, but forgot to put it here.
Red Robin is solid and so Batman and Robin dunno bout Batgirl.
i was talking with the Red Robin guys last weekend, and they told me a lot is gonna change. For one, DC feels that Gotham has gotten ‘too crowded’ lately, so Red Robin won’t be taking place in Gotham much anymore.
I was also hearing about a possible Riddler event coming up for him
edit: also, I will try to throw up the pic of the Joker I got the Red Robin artist to draw for me
Sounds awesome man, I love the RR artwork, a Joker in that style would be pretty cool.
Yeah Gotham is way to crowded, kinda like 616 Marvel and New York. But with all the global talk about the new Batman stuff I see that changing quickly.
Joker drawing by Red Robin artist Marcus To. He says he has several different ways he likes to draw the joker. Took him less than 5 minutes to sketch this (I have a video of that actually).
told me he wants to do a Riddler storyline, and how RR is leaving Gotham
After drawing the Joker pic, one of the DC editors mentioned how he’d never seen his Joker before, and that he was impressed
That’s a pretty awesome sketch and story, kudos to that. Riddler would be cool to see in a story, maybe a world spanning game of chance, he is more or less back to being a villain. His Joker is really cool, it has a very Jack Nicholson feel to it but with more of that crazy edge, it looks familiar for some reason.
Batman and Robin #14 preview. Creepy ass Joker!
