I recognise some of the people here from the SSF4:AE Makoto board, must be the whole tomboy thing. Her costume swap alt should’ve been Makoto’s outfit.
Have to learn the proper spacing for b+:mp:>:mk:, I tried punishing a whiffed sweep from Ryu with it but at range the b+:mp: can move them out too far for the followup :mk: to hit and you can be heavily punished for it.
I use st.lk buffer hk upkicks a lot.
I would imagine this would be a better normal to buffer with than cr.mk since the range on that is horrific.
I use:
sLK buffered into sMK>dMP, give me a confirm off LK for footsies. If they block I can CADC or try a trap with her counter or EX lift kicks or Sweep Throw.
I am thinking about using asuka one my alt team and I was wonder what is her main tool (so far) for getting in or her main poke that leads to her bnb?
I usually just buffer a special move because sometimes s.MK doesn’t go far enough. For example you can counterpoke ryu low forward with standing short, but in a situation like that, chaining into any of her normals will usually whiff except maybe crouch fierce. Rather just go straight to hopkicks or hcb+K. At really long ranges hopkicks can whiff too though. I don’t remember if standing short -> ex exorcisor combos.

Still trying to understand asuka and remember her moves. completely forgot about one command move she has. Though i have noticed if you knock someone down if you predict them to jump back do a falling rain.
Though has anyone got any frame data, as im trying to get used to her link timing. Or actually anything that can help understand timing for linkss

Not sure if this has been covered, but Asuka can kara throw with her standing jab. It’s very slight, but it doesn’t hurt to use it.
I’m running Rolento/Asuka. Got any ideas for team combos? Any help would be appreciated.

Been experimenting the game, it seems like this game tried to disable kara-throws, but I found out they didn’t bother trying to kara the jab. If you push jab a split second before you push LP+LK, it karas. For asuka she gets very little movement but it’s there, you can use cr.lk to the karathrow from midscreen and it will work.
How are you supposed to play this bitch? I’m finding absolutely every one of her normals getting beat by a lot of characters random pokes. I thought standing jab was supposed to be 3f.
if you’re getting beat by a poke meaning you yourself are poking as well, you should probably think about using counter in those situations because they can’t out poke that
the only buttons i throw out (which are mainly on reads) are c.hp, f+lk, and f+hk
i think s.lp is best used after like a cadc forward or sometimes after a second leg cutter or even whiplash to toekick so basically using it to keep pressure or frame trap them
slk and smk are okay footsies
Especially sLK since you can buffer in MK~bMP.
Her neutral game still blows though, so I recommend just avoiding it entirely.
