i was talking about the 90’s OAVs. I had never seen Legacy, although i want to check it out. I did hear somewhere that you need to know what happens in the first two OAVs before completely appreciating Legacy.
Here’s a question for you guys: I just started reading GTO (late, I know) and it surprised me nicely. Didn’t think it be this good.
The question is though, should I continue readin the manga or should I jump to the anime. I’m wondering if the anime toned things down or cut things out, I like manga-to-anime transistions to be uncut. (ie: Stopped watchin Rurouni Kenshin and went manga after Kyoto arc).
Anyway, this is pretty addicting. “Cresta” scenes are too good.

You honestly don’t need to see the first 2 OAV’s for any appreciation of the Legacy because they threw out the storyline of the original and reimagined some of the characters. It’s a pretty significant change from the original OAVs, which is why there is controversy about The Legacy from fans of the series.
OAV 2 left off in a cliffhangar that will never get resolved and there are some character personality tweaks. Jan goes from a skinny gun totting chick to a butch body builder.
According to wikipedia the original OAV’s were never released on DVD due to the fact that the 2nd OAV was never dubbed. Whether this is true or not is beyond me and I haven’t done a quick search for DVD’s so I’m not sure if an official DVD was released at some point in time.
Apparently, I read from manga readers that they did tone down the violence and nudity a bit in the anime compared to the manga. Also, the anime finishes earlier than the manga, since there seems to be a lot of content not covered by the series. I liked the anime quite a bit, though.

Ive been listening to alot of Initial D music lately, dont know why. the song Forever Young is so good. I guess i love it because it played when he first did that pass move where he turned his headlights off in 4th Stage. shit was so epic.
Aw man I love Initial D’s sound Track. All of it. It’s the kind of blood pumpin music that makes you want to do something, anything. It gets you motivated. Forever Young especially. Back on the Rocks is awesome and Running in the 90’s is really great to. I loved when they brough Back on Rocks back in for Keisukes race against God Foot.
yeah, another reason Mio is great. She’s justified in her embarrassment because even when untranslated, her lyrics are silly and make one’s body “itch”.
I like how embarrassed she looks when she’s singing too. quite moe.
