Go. Shoo.

Is it really that easy to sting another individual with your spite? *There is a difference *between a show with meaningful relationships, and a show that entails the concept of relationships for the purpose of just having them. Relationships should be a part of a story, that brings good storytelling.

I really am looking UP to you guys, to seek these out due to my being deployed twice in the last 5 years for nearly 3 years in a row and feeling like I got dropped off in a time machine. You’re being pretty heartless simply because I’m not in your clique.

On that note, I did check out Queen’s Blade, and I think it would make a pretty nice fighting game. Outside of that, I honestly think you’ve merely coined me as opposing what it is you hold dear instead of simply wanting something more. Is that a crime? Why does it have to be taken so personally? lol

Anyways, on a lighter note Sasameki Koto has me interested in something… is this a fresh idea in anime or have Yuri shows been common and I somehow missed the boat these last few years? I’ve seen a lot of manga with this theme, but never anything of this sort on television. Is this pretty exotic for a syndicated show or something of a norm?

I’ll give it a shot. Apparently comes from a game Famitsu gave a 10 all around to recently. That’s quite a feat. Must be something else. Those guys can be pretty freakin’ harsh.

I also dare you to watch Maria-sama ga Miteru.

All four seasons.

And dvd specials.

I was being facecious. Everyone knows Queen’s Blade is the best anime in the existence of everything.

Queen’s Blade

Spoiler

I’m doing it again.

All anime today sucks.

If it ain’t called Queen’s Blade it’s not worth my time. The market nowadays is saturated with bubz less anime. What the fuck is this shit? It was so much better before. Why can’t the these bastards go back to the classics?

Whats the name of the show with that bitch’s face looks like an electrical socket?

Just looked that up on wiki and youtube, is this drawn by the same person who did ***Kodocha?

Damn art style looks so familiar.*

You totally spoiled the show for me. That show looks like someone set the Age to 99 and let that shit just roll.

Kodocha looks like Maria-sama ga Miteru?

Really?

NVM, found it. Haruhi or whatever. It was getting kinda annoying seeing her weird ass face everywhere without at least knowing what the heck it was.

Nah, I realized you were fucking with me so I did the same. LoL

Nah, I saw one picture while googling the name and one of the girls reminded me of her.

Aoi Hana is airing right now and that is a yuri anime. Its pretty good, I’m enjoying it. For the most part, you sound like you would enjoy romance anime since character development is the name of the game.

Ultimately, they are often kids shows, nobody can see into your heart and tell you what you will love, nobody can suspend your disbelief, nobody can make you love anything and nobody can make you see what they like in the same way they do, nobody can justify the bad shows or give you back the time you spent.

Anime is just like any other kind of TV programming, some of it is good, some of it is bad. Most of it is simply average (by definition). Some innovate, some follow a proven formula, all of them are trying to make a buck. People have different tastes. Different strokes for different folks.

The spite is there because every couple of months somebody comes by and starts an argument about how anime sucks. It never goes anywhere and it usually ends with them being told to stop watching. Otakus are delicate, sensitive creatures who get defensive when their mates are threatened…ok technically you can’t mate with anime…BUT WE’RE WORKING ON IT.

EDIT: fuckit late to the party lawlz

i think its more fun to watch anime if you think most of it sucks (i do lawls), its a challenge to dig out the few shows that interest you out of literally hundreds of possible choices

inverse if you want a req watch higurashi season 1 and 2, and then you can watch umineko which is going on right now. sure there are school girls but its pretty much all about relationships and the mindfuck in the first season is top tier. if you dont like it you should at least watch 6 or 7 episodes before declaring it failz

I’m not fucking with you, I hold Maria-sama ga Miteru in extremely high regards, even if it violates everything you hold close as a negative trait to anime.

  • School girls.
  • Catholic school girls.
  • Absolutely NOTHING but catholic school girls.
  • No breasts or ass.
  • The outfits cover everything (long skirts).
  • Absolutely no action whatsoever.
  • Lots and lots of talking.
  • Light yuri-ness.
  • A fucking fuckton of drama.
  • Lots of pairings.
  • Yumi :lovin:~

LoL it’s just hard jumping in on new stuff. It’s easy to get sour. When I got back stateside I got member ship at one of those random anime sites that give you access to direct downloads of a million shows and I would randomly download stuff just to be like “wtf”. It was so damn hard to find anything.

Ask anyone outside this thread and it’s a sea of Code Geass, Naruto and have I seen Bleach yet? Yes… yes I have. I saw the first episodes raw. I get it! LoL

Anyway, I guess I assumed I would be swamped by a sea of that, and you assumed I would be the other troll. I keep forgetting I’m on the SRK sometimes and that I should expect cool peeps by default.

LoL you fucking crack me up dude. Wait, let me guess. At some point in the show, a girl stares at the other girl for a bit, and then suddenly she walks out of the room and someone calls out her name and then they pan to a scenery bit outside the school like a tree or something and she’s sitting on a bench or swing or something. Then suddenly someone walks up behind them, but the camera perspective is sideways so that you can really get a sense of their distance. :3 Am I close? I gotta check it out. Oh, here’s the pic I meant. Come on, that sorta looks like Kodocha…maybe…? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y242/pinkcat1982/Maria-Sama/maria-sama3-89.jpg

I was high alot when I saw Kodocha back then so I could be way off.

Inverse, part of that relationship thing, is just the fact that it’s made in Japan for Japanese people.

That’s why I try to watch anime where confessions are actually made and feelings get known and people aren’t totally stupid, and if they seem to be, they’re just putting on an act, like normal people. That describes Toradora perfectly btw, which is excellent. Nothing is really as it seems at first.

lol at inverse getting no real help, passive aggresive cop outs ftw.

PS: i think if you want real develpment you should read a book, anime is not the place for anything other than sterotypes/archtypes(and whatever random japanese word you can come up with you dork), but atleast it isn’t reality tv. I give it another season before it becomes that bad.

You know I kind of made negative mention of Kare Kano in an earlier post, but I really, REALLY loved how at some point the protagonist says “You know what? Fuck what people think of me. I’m going to bone this guy and get bad grades and just enjoy what little time I have left in school.” It was so fucking different.

Maybe that’s why the show never got finished… lol. It’s impressive how a lot of you have similar tastes. I might have to give this more of a shot. Maybe this is true substance in comparison to alot of the stuff most people tend to want to watch.

Japan is behind us like 10 years, so in about 3-4 years we’re going to be having Survivor: The Anime and stuff like Lost.

That’s Gainax for ya

Believe me, most of us will be the first to admit that there are lot of romance/relationship anime that DO NOT handle it well at all, but they DO exist.

For karekano, the manga actually finishes(and is quite long) so you could read that if you’re intrested. I’m told it’s excellent, though I’ve only read 3 or so volumes myself.

It’s not gainax though, they just adapted a manga and ended it early. So, it’s really the manga author =P

Quite a large amount of it is male; but there’s is a surprising amount of female otaku over there as well.

As for the number of series like that; what would you expect with romantic dramas/comedies? It’s gonna be that and only that.

This season’s CANAAN seems to fit right into the action mold, but you may want to get Guin Saga for your RPG-ish story fix. It’s based on a novel series from the 70’s to this day; and seems to be going good so far.

Also, I can’t stress enough that you need to watch the Kara no Kyoukai movies. That’ll probably satisfy you very well.

Say, have you ever tried watching NANA or Honey and Clover? You may want to look into those.

The correct answer lies here.

Yeah pretty much why the show is one of the more well-known romantic drama/comedies out there.
