Anime made souls obselete, n00b.
Just live vicariously through your favorite characters and fill your life material goods and bitter, scathing disapproval of anything that doesn’t satisfy your every whim.

Bakamenogatari 05 was gdlk. Why is Senjougahara so hot? Damn my liking for cute yet weird girls. @_@

Maybe? :wonder:

Everyone’s watching Bakemono before Tuesday! Whatever happened to watching stuff together?

Yeah, I’m not getting that either. Yuuki’s sadness/crying was totally legit after how Mirai treated him in the last episode; not to mention being worried about his parents. He’s a young kid, after all.

New Hayate OP/ED! OP sounds like traditional Kotoko all the way, but they’ve sure upped the fanservice there. ED is okay at best.

As for the episode itself:

Hayate the Cookie Baking Butler S2 18

Spoiler

A good episode all around; mainly Hayate trying to find a way to repay Ayumu on White Day for aiding Nagi and giving him the Valentine’s chocolate - with a bit of help from Hinagiku. In the end though, he managed to pull it off despite the obstacles.

Baka 5 made me want to choke Araragi and cry tears of jealousy and just and cry and cry until my tears dried up and he regained consciousness. Then I would slowly back a pickup truck over him and laugh and laugh and laugh.

I would have watched it anyway, even if I wasn’t banned for saying awful things.

Yeah it was a good episode, I like the new OP/ED better…I mean, the H-I-N-A hingagiku hai hai was pretty cool, but the rest of the song wasn’t that great. The instrumental part in the beginning of the new ED sort of reminds me of the ninja turtles theme, in a weird, Japanese kind of way. And random TnA in openings are always welcome.

ooo a ROTK anime

im probably the only person whos hype for it but i dont care. ROTK aways delivers. in theory i should hate it because i hate PREDICTABO shows and i already know what happens in the end because of history.

i got “dat umineko” game installed with english patch, please dont disappoint

So uh VC18:

Valkyria Chronicles 18

Spoiler

Pretty surprised Isara got GGPO’d like that. Welkin is becoming a really unlikeable character at this point. I’m not expecting him to cry like a bitch with Isara’s death but for the past few episodes he’s been a whiny emo bitch. He needs to fucking man up already.

Next season has a few good shows with the new Darker than Black, Railgun, Blacksmith, Fairy Tale, and Kobato.

Gives me a chance to catch up on last seasons stuff.

You’re still taking what Spirit said seriously the last time you were on?

Start sounds like a fast paced Miku dance song to me. Or the next song used in a random Touhou flash.

Canaan 4 was mad nice yo! Girls wit guns is always a plus, and the story is coming together now.

So Haruhi still sucks?

Wrong.

Only two animes even remotely interesting. It was difficult to find anything without the word high school in it… nevertheless,* Letter Bee* and Nyan Koi look interesting from a plot perspective. Nyan Koi looks like it has a chance for ensuing hilarity if it’s written well. Letter Bee just looks like the kind of plot I would have expected of old school anime. Fairy Tale might be ok. Everything else is generic as hell, but that’s to be expected of any tv lineup.

Japan really is into relationships. How much of anime viewership in Japan is male anyway? It really is kind of surprising the absolute number of girl meets boy, girl meets girl, boy meets a bunch of girls series out there.

Is there anything with any kind of intensity or epic plotline coming out soon? Something worthy of its own RPG or movie kind of storytelling? Something that will last? My internet is slow as hell, I have to choose my series wisely. :3

I wasn’t expecting them to finish up Inuyasha. I read the rest of the manga and there were a few good parts but nothing that really warrants another animated series IMO.

Nyan Koi did sound interesting but it’ll probably make that main character into an RPG gopher. Go for this, go for that. I’ll give it a few episodes to see if I’m wrong though.

They’re just animating the rest.

It’s the one series that went, you know what, fuck animating filler while we catch up, we’re just flat out going to stop, even if we’re up on top with everyone else.

And considering how the entire show wrapped up EVERYTHING nicely and gave literal closure to it, well, it deserves to be animated, this is Rumiko we’re talking about here, outside of Maison Ikkoku her series are like a revolving door into a walk in closet.

:looney:

Also, how the FUCK did Kampfer get an anime? Damn.

lol lilo and stitch?

lol more inyu yasha? did cn beg for this?

arg? is that kimba of sumtin?

Hayate, why you such a playa?

Yeah, its almost as if their whole society is based around human interaction

Oh, such optimism I had. Looking back, these were the happiest days of my life. K-on was airing, queens blade was pushing the envelope, Haruhi S2 was on the way.
How could I have known they would do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what made Haruhi 1 interesting. A small cast of memorable characters going on diverse adventures. Think about, there was a B movie, a giant bug in a cyber desert, they thwarted an alien assassination attempt, witnessed the end of the world, had a girl in a witch costume play a bitchin’ guitar solo, fought giant monsters, solved a murder mystery, had intergalactic warfare, bunny girl gropings! Baseball games!
Haruhi 2 is the same damn thing over and over, and its not even a good episode to repeat. If they put on 8 concerts and in each one they played different instruments and different songs and in different costumes, that would awesome

Now…all there is, is darkness…well…I guess there is waiting for queens blade 2…and Strike Witches 2…and the inevitable K-on 2, but after that…darkness and death.

Actually, it really almost feels like they’re basing it off its implications or its possibilities (of human interaction), rather than its development. Everything about these relationship series feels so forced. The archtypes are very strict.

I remember watching Kare Kano a long time ago and being really into it, and just wondering how extreme some of those characters were, how absolutely hard it was to say anything and just how impossible it was for them to be anything but what they felt they had to be.

I guess it made an impact on me because, well I’m used to Americans saying “fuckit, this is what I want, and this is how I’m going to get it.” but that’s like breaking some kind of law in anime, for a character to transcend his boundaries. The cultural difference of course are what make them so exotic, but it’s in its writing that I’m a loss…this resistance to change seems to be a defining factor for these shows. I guess maybe that’s what you mean by a society based on human interaction? It’s resistence to change? The games we play?

So these shows, they end up having to be so rigid, and by doing that, allows them to have to make a lot more shows in the genre because once that plotline is in stone it can’t ever be more. To explore new avenues, you just have to jump to the next manga, or next anime and hope it turns out differently. Smart way to keep people watching I guess. You’re always going to be looking for something ever so elusive.

Watch Caanan, that should satisfy your ability to not worry about your balls running away from your body in a fit of insecurity.

You sound like a really nice guy. It’s pretty impressive how you pretty much think you have me all figured out just because I’m not like you. For someone with such a strong sense of variety, you really have put me on a pretty limited scope.

Free money.

Sounds like Queen’s Blade is the right anime for you. None of that relationship archetype bullshit there!
