If you can get past the fact that Lain is a slow paced series I think you’ll see that it lives up to the hype that surrounded it. It’s a bit dated now, but still worth a watch if you ask me.
It’s not just anime/manga/comics that fall victim to this, but all forms of entertainment. Regardless of the format there will always be people bitching about lack of “quality” material in any selected field of entertainment.
If you don’t believe me just browse the forums over at amazon.com and you’ll be greeted by a plethora of “insightful” individuals pissing themselves about how all literary fiction, literary non-fiction, music, art, animation, hollywood productions, indie productions, etcetera and so forth is being oversaturated with what they deem to be garbage. Some of them make valid points, most do not, regardless it all boils down to personal preference and if that’s the case there’s a very rare chance that there will be anyone that is happy with the entirety of any entertainment in general.
If you enjoy a majority of the anime currently out, congrats you have a lot to choose from.
If you enjoy a select few shows out there then hey, great for you.
If you can’t get past the 90’s and think everything currently out is absolute trash then tough shit, enjoy your reruns.
If you hate anime/manga in general, then kindly get the fuck out of this thread. Thanks.

I honestly would recommend Claymore. The show is interesting enough it hooked my wife in due to the characters. She normally watches stuff like Oh My Goddess and Tenchi. Claymore is pretty bloody, and has lots of combat. But the story and art is fluid as hell, it drew us both in. You should definitely try it.

Amanti is making his move, the little sneak. He seems to be pretty interested to making Horo his and to the point of even marrying her. Sadly for our main couple, though, and after Horo was reading that note Lawrence got from Diana (surprisingly she actually can read) about her homeland not existing anymore, it looks like they’ll be splitting for a while. Did Amanti win? We’ll possibly see by next week.
Zan Zetsubou #3’s switch sketch was perhaps the best segment in this week’s episode. Nami couldn’t catch a break the whole time. :lol:
Horo fell out of character in that episode. Not my favorite by a long shot but I suppose being over the top these days is the only way to get to people.
I watched the first two episodes (probably gonna see 3 tommorow) but it fairly depicts the natural disaster aspect fairly well. Characters seem realistic as well and the animation looks good. Designs are a little retroish (or is kinda like Dennou Coil) but all in all, it’s going pretty good so far.
They didn’t waste anytime getting that fight started haha. Pollux taking a note from HnK with the Hokuto Shinken type style going on (critical points). Still not sure how the hell Kenichi is going to win this one.
