Pretty surprising development in these past chapters. I didn’t think he’d do it. Keep the Fap Note coming.
Spice #3: Very good episode. I was waiting for her to find out. At least the winner of the contract isn’t clear cut now. Well, they had to do something to make you doubt. I’m guessing that the little kid will lose out in the end, but will appear in an episode or two down the line.
Caught up on Bakemonogatari. The show’s art and style is unique. The show itself is okay so far. I like the leads, so that’s a plus.
FMA: A fairly predictable episode. Still, it’d be weird if they didn’t have an episode where the characters deal with Hughes’ death.
Edit: Yes. Fuck that bitch Kirara.

Holy shit that last chapter was a doozy. Hard to believe that we’re one chapter away from Shaman King’s real end. Kinda the ending I expected because there was no other possible way of beating Hao in his own world. And it’s a shounen of course so they have to win through love and kindness. 
Alter’s spicy wolf strat is top tier.

it’s like they took the best episodes from the show and made it into a movie. thats actually a really good thing.
i actually didnt mind not being able to follow the dialogue because i already knew what they were talking about sort of.
for some parts though, it probably would have been useful to be a japanophile, girugamesh and all that.
- i didnt really get the part in the beginning with unit 05 and…whatever the fuck was going on. picture quality was too bad to really tell what was happening.
- same thing with the space scene (well, i think theyre in space…) when theyre excavating/transporting…something and they see kawaoru (the gay angel lawls) sitting on…the something. couldnt see shit, and couldnt understand any dialogue lol. probably would have explained the bit at the end with kawaoru piloting what appears to be another eva.
- wish i knew what the deal with unit 02 ZA BEAST mode was.
- didnt get the ending, something about THIRD IMPACTO and unit 01 NOT eating dhalsim’s core like in the show. ending scene was still pretty good with the god hand and the BEHOLD OPTIC BLAST
new pilot girl was fuckawesome of course. much better than shinji’s friend in the show whos only purpose was to get pwnt in unit 03 and then forgotten. speaking of unit 03, having asuka being the martyr (ok not really cuz she’s still alive) was a good and not overly PREDICTABO way to get the new pilot into the story.
you guys who watched it do you know japanese or are you like me and doing the whole guessing+pattern matching thing?
hope it doesnt take years to get the next movie

The movie starts with Mari battling a snake like angel that was attacking the Bethany NERV base. During her conflict she successfully kills the angel by initiating the self destruct of Eva Unit-05 and ejecting her plug.

That scene does indeed take place in space. The moon to be specific. Basically Gendo and whoever were visitin the SEELE moon base where they were developing Eva Unit-06, which is what you see Kawarou sitting on and piloting near the end.

From what I understand Mari manually removed Unit-02’s inhibitors allowing her to put Unit-02 in controllable state of berserker.

A LOT happened in the end there. Apparently during the conflict instead of going berserker like in the original series Eva Unit-01 becomes “self aware” of it’s existence as a direct clone of the angel Adam and begins to accelerate to a level of divinity close to Adam. Shinji manages to salvage Rei and as a result Eva Unit-01 begins to absorb the core of Zeruel which starts the transformation of Eva Unit-01 into a complete Angel, or maybe even something more, which would apparently result in a 3rd Impact destroying all known life on earth. Kawarou drops a Lance of Longinus and stops it dead in it’s tracks.
Hope that helps clarify some things. As for your final question, I have a miniscule understanding of Japanese paired with translation notes I’ve found online through various places that coincide with each other.[/details]
Glad you liked 2.0. And I agree, hopefully it doesn’t take years for the next two films to come out, but if it follows the release pattern we’ve seen so far we can probably expect a 2012 release date for both of them at the latest.

I also couldn’t help laughing at how Kurosawa’s crotch glows whenever he thinks about Takigawa. That whole chapter about it felt so surreal, as well.
I have a feeling it might be ending pretty soon, though.
