I never cared for Haruhi to begin with, glad I never got into it then. Why would they mess up something popular like this? Didn’t the success of the first season give them enough money, so they have to reuse material like this or what?

Well, their excuse is that they’re following the exact novel (Endless Eight)'s events. Which also repeated the same thing over and over.

Thankfully, I’ve only watched the first episode from this season and nothing else. I’ll just delete what little I do have and pretend it never happened.
No kidding. This is the one instance where sticking to the source material is a lousy idea. And even so, it’s poor taste to do it for what will be 6 episodes straight.
Following a novel or not, I’m sure they could have made this a two part-er (one episode showing “the day” and the second showing a fast montage of it looping + solution) and called it a day.
Talk about milking it for all it’s worth.
Quality isn’t amazing, but it’s watchable. Only thing that may get on your nerves is the fact that you’ll inadvertently be staring at the top half of the back of a strangers head while watching. Trust me though, it’s not even noticeable except for maybe one scene near the end and that’s it.
And how/why are people confusing Mari for an Asuka replacement/remodeling? Granted in most recent leaks you see her in Asuka’s Unit 02, but what’s the thought process behind assuming that that makes her Asuka? It’s been clearly stated from the beginning that Mari was a new pilot to be introduced alongside Asuka in 2.0. On the Japanese film poster that was plastered everywhere on the web you clearly see Asuka and Mari on the same side. Asuka’s even clearly defined in movie trailers AND the preview at the end of 1.0! Can’t get any more clear-cut than that!
Anyways, Asuka is great in this film and is as tsundere jailbait delicious as ever. :lovin:

EoE/(the director’s depression) was probably the best thing to ever happen to Eva as the stand alone series wasn’t that good. Rebuild is the next best thing to happen to it. I wonder what mental problems he’s going through now

Another sacrifice is made; and it’s in the form of George’s parents - while Kinzo still remains missing. Battler was all sorts of cool in this ep; shows that he’s one guy not to be underestimated.

Less Horo and Lawrence fun this week, but the little shown was pretty good. Another mysterious character shows up in the form of Deanna/Diana. She seems pretty knowledgeable (and good looking to boot) and seems to know of Horo’s origins. Too bad the ep ended in a cliffhanger; wonder what happened that let Lawrence run off like that.
Man why don’t we get cool shit like this over here? I hate Eva but that phone is some sexy shit man. Their phones are so much better then ours. Damn.

A nice conclusion for the Hitagi arc. It seems like family trauma (and with her mother, being shown in real life photography, oddly enough, being involved in that cult) and Hitagi’s own emotions that caused the crab to show up. A lot of weird visuals which is Shaft’s trademark, but all in all, was a good episode.
A quick word of warning: Don’t download the Superior Subs file for Bakemono #3. They are apparently pretty bad (Ironic, isn’t it?).

I like the whole sense of realism they’re trying to put down for both the happenings of the earthquake and Mirai’s recklessness due to her overwhelming emotions in regards to looking for her lost brother. Good thing that Mari was around to help her out and her character seems quite charming - likely the only person who’d be able to help the siblings reach back home.[/details]
