The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (May 2014)

Peter is a bad, self-absorbed self-centered person who does good sometimes. That sums him up perfectly

That sums up nearly every superhero who ever lived.

more so for spidey. like commit nigga. he could do so much more good being either a regular scientist or a full time superhero.

Again, sums up nearly every superhero who has a constructive alter ego life…which is again, nearly all of them.

disagree. since alot of them were gonna be nobodies if they were given powers. they would done some good…but only a few are on that reed, peter, stark…woulda been somebody no matter what.

I don’t get al the complaints about Miles, he’s been developing nicely this whole time and a ton of respect has been paid to Peter the whole time.

See now we’re in potential semantics. Obviously, being in the life of a superhero or due to origin stories it shaped some hero’s lives (for example, Bruce wouldn’t be the world’s greatest detective if his parents weren’t shot in front of him) but a lot of them now have fulfilling lives in both identities. If a lot of heroes gave up the mantle, they could still easily make a difference in the world. Maybe not to the extent that brilliant scientists can, but certainly enough to matter.

In the end, most heroes are selfish, because they choose to try and have a personal life rather than spend all non-sleeping hours being a superhero.

I just dont like how peter constantly pushes HIS problems into the center of EVERYTHING and shit always blows up in his face and he just feels sorry for himself all the time. Idk why people feel hes a relatable hero. Icant relate to him as an adult at all

Is Doc Oc still Spiderman?

Haha yo bruces never ending guilt makes him as dumb as parker most of the time. Both him and parker let stuff they really had no control over drive their lives instead of letting it inspire them. Both parker and bruce turn into collosaul dick heads as they get older. I wish DC would stop doing that with batman and the same for marvel with peter and ton of other heroes in these companies stabels.

Oh god dont get me started on BATMAN…lol

Hey, I’m not saying Peter, or Bruce or a ton of heroes are in the right. Funny thing about being a hero. Usually involves an origin story that would turn most into fucking head cases. Oh wait, it still turned most of these heroes into head cases anyway.

How many happy, well adjusted people become heroes of their own accord? Without destiny, or someone else, or something else pushing them into the line of duty?

Yeah still is. Stopped collecting at ASM #700.

THen you missed out on alot of fun.

You guys are talking if all this were Spider-Man’s/Parker’s decisions as if he was an actually existing person and doesn’t have a completely screwed up and convoluted past because he went through more authors hands than I have different pair of socks.

Spider-Man is about a young boy in high school/college who happens to become a superhero and the thing that makes this shit interesting is how all that interferes with his “real life”.
Always loved the part of the story where everyone thinks he’s a dick for coming too late to a date n’ shit and people being mad at him even though he just saved a grandma from a burning house or bystanders from reckless super villains.

I loved the first 2 movies about being this exact thing and basically retelling his original story to a newer audience.

Fuck this Batman Begins/Returns/Rises bullshit look and feel on heroes like Superman and Spider-Man.
Those are fucking light-hearted comic book heroes and don’t need this gothic/dystopian bullshit look and feel just because Batman happened to be a successful film.

Just look at the thumbnail of the new films trailer!

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?

Looks like the first disc of Final Fantasy 7 took a dump on Spider-Man’s head or Spidey is swinging over Gotham or some shit.
How you guys can find that appealing on a comic book that originally looked like this

and is known for it’s vibrant colors and colorful artwork, is beyond me.

Go and eat a plate of every grey/dark toned piece of shit the industry serves you, I prefer my Spider-Man funny and colorful and my Batman dark and brooding.

Spider-man stopped being light hearted in June of 1973

Was that The Day that Gwen Stacy Died? I’m honestly not sure, History was always my worst subject…I suck with dates.

What I fail to understand, is why Peter doesn’t get ANY leeway for being selfish here and there considering he made helping random assholes in the street a priority in which often, to him, superseded the value of his own life.

I don’t deny that he’s made some pretty stupid decisions, but you guys act like that’s all he has under his belt.

It’s ok. I’ve been only collecting because of the title. Don’t want to break the chain. Missing spectacular though.

As for peter parker, I like him just to lol at his being an asshole sometimes and being selfish.
