Thanks for the info. I played a few games with Sak at MGL a couple of days ago, but I didn’t really try anything new. I attempted cl. st. strong to cr. forward but I kept missing the link. I’ll probably stop by next week.

Nemo confirmed that Sakura’s get out of the corner tatsu still works in AE. The tatsu is the same as it was in SSF4.

well, there has already been vids of it being used I’m almost sure.

Now I just wanna see an air-to-air mk tatsu to shinku tengyo

I have done it and can confirm that escape tatsu works. The number of hits and rotations seems similar though…

Nah it hits twice now if used as an air to air, but you can’t really connect a shinkuu hadoken afterwards, it sends them too far away (even further than in super imo cause of the two hits). Maybe you can if it pushes them to the corner.

anyway do me a favor and test ex shouoken pass under a fireball and see if it connects the rest after 1st hit.

Cls. MP > c. MK is awesome.

You can do cls. MP > C. LP > C. MK too. edit does not work on all characters, s. LP connects better.

S. MK is great against Adon jaguar kicks.

Been trying cross up tatsu, no go. Air to air is two hits and lands close to them.

S. LP > s. LP > FS. MP > SHOU is decent frame trap/ combo. Idk c. MK and c. MP does everything fs. MP can do. Trying to come up with uses.

Update : C. LK > C. LP, S. MP confirm Shou is pretty good trap too

Cls. MP > LK tatsu > c. HP > ex tatsu works

Overall, my favorite change is cls. MP > c. MK. After knockdown, meaty cls. MP frametrap and c. MK is another. It’s pretty sweet

I confirm that c.hp ex tatsu don’t connect on Yang, like if the match up wasn’t as hard as it is…
And i tried against the cpu c.mp to c.mk, and c.mk to c.mp, even with plink it doesn’t work.
Seems to make little bit more damages with her combos.
Backdash still so poor :frowning:
And cancel a stand mp to a hadouken seems to be cool. Make me think maybe we can do a combo finishing by stand mp to shouken.

I don’t see why Yang would be a hard matchup for Sakura, I actually would consider it the other way around.

From what Ive been told by people who have played the match up is that the match up is in Sakuras favor 6-4 for Yang, and a even 5-5 for Yun. They say that some on Sakura’s combos do massive damage to the twins, and it kinda depends on who gives the first knock down.

He also says that Ryu and Akuma (Gouki) are much easier for Sakura to fight. He says when you have Ryu in a corner it is HELL of alot harder for Ryu to deal with her. He either has to score a knock down then tatsu from the ground, or land a Shoryu. Next, he says even though Akuma got nerfed and the fight is easier, Sakura still has to play extremely smart mid screen. When you have him in the corner, he says the only thing he says you have to worry about is the teleport which he says all you have to do is bait that. Ken is harder than both he says. He even goes to say it may be somewhat wrose of a matchup than it was Super due to Ken’s buffs, but Lp. Dp baits are out as you all know. And he has to spend meter to get out the corner.

One thing that kinda happy about is the fact that he says that Sakura is alot better and he feels that people who stuck with Sakura will benefit the most with her as he says that she is hella stronger but he also goes to say that he doesnt know if she is where Sakura is where Sakura players want her at. He says that while her fireball is better and the recovery is decent now some match ups he feels will still be a pain in the ass. We will have to see…

Can anyone confirm that her links after lk.tatsu are easier now? I played her in AE for the first tme yesterday and my execution on those long combos was never as good as they were yesterday and I played her in super the day before that.

They are not necessarily easier, but the 360 version is roughly 1 frame faster than arcade I think. This might make a difference though, or it is just a placebo effect.

Some people get better timing on their combos because of the speed difference from arcade/console.
Others have it the other way around.

The only time ex.shouoken doesn’t connect is when you catch a limb from too far away. The opponent char retake its initial position and Sakura’s speed is not enough to catch up in time. Unless they added more frame advantage on hit it shouldn’t change that much unless they’re throwing a hado(you get a free counter-hit on AE).

This isn’t always the case. I can think of more than one time I’ve had a point blank ex dp drop itself. Rog’s c.rh can sometimes cause it to happen for one. Weird reel animations are the real culprit.
