The AE Sakura Changes Wild Speculation Thread

So with Arcade Edition having gone gold, that means that character changes are finalized. Not much is known about what changes have been made to Sakura at this point beyond some interaction with other characters nerfs/buffs etc.

Thus this thread. This thread is reserved for wild speculation only. The rules are simple, any Sakura changes you post here must be believable, but slightly more farfetched than the changes that were posted before you.

To start it off:

Yep Sakura updates in the next dev blog get hype. If there was a wish list I would hope for maybe fast startup on her focus attack and maybe a bit less recovery on her non-charged fireballs.

+4 for overhead on crouching would be awesome. And give EX tatsu and EX otoshi invincibility and make EX shouoken safe on block haha.

OK at least make U2 punches a bit faster. So I can hopefully OS it against Bison and Akuma teleports. And hopefully it punishes blanka ball on block.

She would be the next vanilla Sagat if that were to happen haha. I just really wish that her fireballs had the same speed in alpha 3.

Her sweep has 7 frame startup, which is basically the average sweep speed in the game.

To give you a comparison, Balrog’s sweep comes out in 8 frames, so that means Sakura’s is technically faster. No reason for her to have a faster sweep really, so I don’t see it happening.

Fo real? Balrog’s sweep feels like 3 frames to me lol! Maybe its the range that gets me then. So who has a fast sweep? Chun-Li?

I’d still like a faster sweep for Sak. Might not happen but thats my wish list. If I really wanted to go extra I’d ask for faster cl. mk, c.mp, c.mk lol. Let’s make sak high tier lol.

I heard in the japanese loketests for AE a sakura player blocked a blanka ball and dashed in and combo’d his ass… punishing blanka balls seems to be something you won’t have to worry about…

Yeah it’s true, cmk->shuoken.

Anyway I bet that’s what she will get buffed:

  • HP shuoken will get a buff on damage
  • faster walk speed
  • hadouken less recover

This is not my wish list however, its that I know how capcom works and they don’t care about saks so IF they changed something it won’t be more then that.

My wishlist:

-Make her fucking moves work correctly.

5 Bison dollars says she gets some bullshit nerfs.
This is SFIV, shit’s not allowed to be fun.

The problem with Sakura’s sweep is the short range and relatively long recovery, not the speed.

I’d be nice if ex otoshi hits a shoto after just throwing a fireball. It gets annoying that I keep going over them when I correctly guess a fireball. :confused:

Actually should make shouoken 4 hit, fadc an easier link so I can do the combos online and offline lol. Either add more hit stun to the first 4 hits or remove a frame or 2 from her dash which is already pretty quick.

-Faster walk speed and/or better dashes
-better recovery on fireball
-somehow forget that sakura also has tatsucopter and leave it in. :wink:

The fastest sweep in the game is Ryu’s, which comes out in 5 frames (the same number of frames as his c.mk and Sakura’s c.mk).
