I used her again today. I tried to combo after landing a 2 hit air shunpuu but from what i’ve seen it pushes them too far away. I couldn’t even combo into her mp shouken and you could do that midscreen in super…

As for her combos id say her damage ouput is higher because of the cl.mp buff. I think her standard jump in attack to jab cr.mk xx hp shouken combos will be replced with cl.mp > cr.mk xx hp shouken the damage is insane imo. Ive still gotta find out how her far.mk can be used for though i keep forgettng to try use it as an anti air.

Also i dont know if this worked in super but i couldnt get cl.hp to connect after a dash in focus attack, far.hp always came out instead. Anyway its either cause it never worked before or cause i was vsing yang.

i was able to crumple a seth and get a cl. fierce xx short tatsu–> low fierce xx ex tatsu combo so it should work

Ah, yeah it’s probably cause of Yang’s hitbox then. Cause everytime on block I got far hp .

Look at how good Cammy-players like Alioune and Sako use her cl.mp, that’s how you should use Sakura’s.

Skatan, how do you use cl.Strong? I’ve seen though a lot of your Sak vids that you do it. What is the purpose of doing it? I want to add anything that she has to my repertoire.

Not sure if this was posted already, but Tokido says in his latest blog that the second hit of Akuma’s far st.RH whiffs when Sakura is crouching.

he also said the Sakura matchup became bad. I have a hard time seeing that.

If the second hit of s.RH whiffs when she’s crouching as opposed to having to focus attack to make it whiff, that’s actually pretty big in that matchup. Most matchups against Sakura tend to be “Don’t let Sakura hit you cause fuck that bitch does tons of damage”

Akuma and Seth have this mentality on priority because she can deal a ton of health in one big combo very easily.

What he means is that the combo exists in the game already, whether or not it is 1 frame or 2 frame is irrelevant. How does it become broken by being a 2-frame link all of a sudden?

Sakura has 6-4 against Akuma now, there is no doubt about that.
It’s already a 5-5 matchup in super and Akuma loses st.hk and escape tatsu in that matchup = a big difference. 1 hit from Sakura is 50% of his health gone and he’s stuck in the corner.

I dunno skatan I really wouldn’t say it was in her favour still. I always thought it was about a 6.5:3.5 in ssf4. He has superior fireballs, footsies kinda, mixups, teleport. She has got nice buffs though but I’m not sure about it being a positive matchup still.

I would too considering that she’s become a much better frame trapping character, it’s gonna be hard for Akuma to deal with her pressure. Oh and her ultra 2 pretty much makes him want to think carefully when doing his vortex game, it has such a wide hitbox.

I think what he’s saying is something that leads to that much damage would be pretty bullshit as a two framer.
I’d be jumping out my shoes and socks if it were a two frame link (not so hot at plinking), but I sort of agree. Then again, to truly optimize the damage off that you got to hit another link for every tatsu you feel like squeezing in there so I suppose that point is kind of moot.

Kind of curious about the source on that though.

i really dont have a problem with doing the hp fadc cl hp combo anymore. i can hit it about 90 percent of the time in a match. i gotta agree with skatan on this one. it doesnt matter how easy it is if someone can do it consistently as a 1 frame nothin changes when its a 2 frame
