Also ending in lk alter ego gives you better positioning than mk does and it does more damage.

Yeah, it’s been found, but it’s so hard to link that you’re better off just using a cr.LP or LK to start the juggle instead for guaranteed damage :slight_smile:

for anyone that still cares about this game, i’ve been fooling around with pandora combos. for the second one you can also pandora>super off of a random j.hk air-air.

whatever xx windcross, cr.hp CADC, st.hp xx lk alter ego(easiest with cr.hp being the whatever, you have to charge windcross a bit to get the juggle)

You can also do some goofy stuff with cr.mp CADC but it’s really hard.

I’m still experimenting with his combos a little bit, mostly because he seems to get pretty poor damage overall. Bad damage on launch/tag-cancel or especially pre-launch/tag-cancel. That’s a huge problem in this game, and it makes me think he might just need a power gem set up.

Right now I’ve just been using what’s easiest to me: link (no cr.HP) > wind cross > cr.jab, cr.hp xx CADC, sweep. I see where I could optimize it but even with no jabs or link straight into cr.HP it seems like the damage is poor. Just looking for ideas or if anyone else out there is getting big damage with raven.

He should get a good boost though with 2013’s changes to HK alter ego juggle points.

EDIT: So I’ve been experimenting with using wind cross on a grounded opponent into b.MK, MK and finishing with cr.MK into finisher. Seems to give higher damage on average

I just noticed you can loop j.HK 4 times in a row (try it in the corner, js.HK as late as possible 4 times). And in 2013 you can end with HK alter Ego. Now you can end with MKHK EX Alter Ego, or do 3 j.HKs to LK Alter Ego.

Seriously? That’s so funky, can’t wait to try it out. What’s funny is that they limited the cr.HP because it was so time consuming and boring, but I bet this loop is way worse.

It basically is, but it’s way harder to set up than the c.HP loop. You either need to tag cancel into it somehow (TC’d launcher works), or use a well placed EX Shuriken.

Dudley can loop his j.HK in a similar way, but that move adds 2 to the Juggle Counter unlike Raven’s, which adds 1, so he can only do 3.

Well that’s pretty cool, was messing around with the loop today. I use Bryan with raven, so I was using snake pit, TC into the loop. Was getting about 390 with body blow xx snake pit, j.HK x 2, cl.HP xx LK alter ego.

What’s really nice is you can still get huge damage and a meterless tag with j.HK x 3, raw launch. In fact raven seems to be pretty good at getting some damage in before relaunching back into his partner for free (ie combos with b.MK, MK > launch)

If you replace the cl.HP with another j.HK, you’ll get a few points of damage more. I also noticed the free launcher after 3 j.HKs, it’s quite nice.

j.hp,(walk) cl.hk, cr.mp xx windcross, cr.lp, cr.hp CADC, cl.hp xx hk alter ego 476 omitting the cr.lp gets you 491
cr.lp, st.lp, cr.mk xx windcross, cr.lp, cr.hp CADC, cl.hp xx hk alter ego 336 omitting the cr.lp gets you 351

the float in corner is nice, means you don’t have to do different stuff midscreen vs. corner.

That’s right! I totally forgot to mess with his new cl.HK. That’s a really solid solo punish.

Still, it doesn’t seem like the new HK alter ego buff helped much in the damage department.

It’d adding about 30-40 damage to the end of combos, it almost makes up for the lost cr.hp JP if you do the hard combos, and really helps if you did the easy ones.

Ah, I gotcha. Definitely ups the damage for the windcross, cr.LP, cr.HP xx CADC combos. Gives around 15 more damage for the harder cr.HP link combos. Also, I only got it to hit once :-/, but I swear I got cl.MP, cr.HP xx CADC, cl.HP xx HK ego.

Seems pretty inconsistent right now, but I would love to figure out how to get this to hit consistently.

Been in the lab with Raven today, and I’ve come up with a few corner combos. . The best one I’ve been able to find is j.HP > cl.HP xx L Crossed Ninja Stars > cl.MP xx EX Crossed Ninja Stars > HK > cr.HP xx M Alter Ego

Does 457 damage for one meter, not bad I think. If you start with a cr.LP instead of the jump in, you get 387 damage. Still working at, I think. I’m still incredibly new (only been playing for about two months, and only ssfivae until this patch hit) and I don’t know my punches from my kicks half the time. Kidding, of course. I know that punches are the foot looking things =P

I think it’s a bit of a variation of one of his trials, but I’m not sure. If anyone can find a way to squeeze out some more damage from this I would love to hear. For whatever reason it’s his combo I can get out most consistently.

It’s more meter efficient to do like j.hp, cl.hp xx l ninja star,[st.mp xx m ninja star, st.lp] cr.hp CADC, cr.hp CADC st.hp xx hk alter ego.

If you do far range windcrosses close to the corner now the other character floats higher so you can do your normal enders too.

Meter in combos generally only adds 5-20 damage unless it’s super/cross art.
