This tourney was fun as hell, or maybe that was because i was delirious for being there till 5-6 AM every night! =]
Anyway, Marneto and Alex P BEASTED in GGXX, and Jumpee was the shizzle in MvC2. It was seriously their weekend.
Marneto EASILY deserved top 3 this weekend, watch the DVDs when they come out. Everyone will see how well martin played. I mean shit, he nearly beat Bas to get into the finals.
Alex proved he is a true slayer beast. He beat Ruin to take his pool, and then eliminated Ruin in the top 8.
Ruin : brackets put you against Kindevu cause you lost your pool. All the 2nd place qualifiers got matches against 1st place qualifiers. I actually tried to put you in the 3rd spot (top space in 2nd bracket) but i couldnt argue with everyone else’s placements (because of pool rankings). I will say this, you definitely had a tough run at the tourney. No one expected Kensou AND david to lose their first matches. They wouldve had to play japs too if they won. But then it was you, Kensou, and David in the losers. But you still prevailed until Alex beat you.
Combofiend has the best Axl in the US for real. Shit is sick…BUT IM IN HIS HEAD!!! :lol: 7 AM flight times own me for free. Haha i didnt go to sleep until 1:30 PM the next morning. Anyway, GGs all weekend. Make sure to bitch slap ID and Chaotic for not showing.
BTW what happened to Elven Shadow? He didnt even qualify…i didnt watch his pool, but who beat him?

The pool system was fun, but extremely taxing and horridly long. CvS2 is a parasite that drains your life! 2/3 was so bad, yet so fun! CFE is a dumb game!

If I left anybody out, I’m sorry, but I’m at work, and I still haven’t slept, so I’m not sane right now.
Not really a whole lot I can say. This event ran as smoothly as I could. We had some minor hitches, and time was an issue, I apologize to those who entered tournaments that ran way late and had to leave or withdraw.
For those that wanted to buy T-shirts, Posters, tags, and DVD’s, look for updates on theTexas Showdown website DVD’s should be ready within a month, we’re trying to setup sales for shirts, posters, and tag sets online. I dunno about Javi, but I had a blast, this was by far the greatest tournament I’ve ever run, and the biggest gaming event I have ever seen in Texas. Thanks to everybody for travelling down here and participating, if it wasn’t for all of ya’ll, Texas Showdown wouldn’t have happened. Thanks again for helping to make Texas Showdown one of the premier Street Fighter tournaments in America!
