Anyone trying the cbt? I’m a lvl11 Popori archer Six.Machine, add me if you want to play or pvp or something. Archer seems pretty cool. It’s easy to doge everything and it’s nice to be able to do that in an mmo. The boss k something where you have the priest help you was annoying because if you walks anywhere near the opening of the room, he resets and gets back full health. There’s times where he would lunge at me and lunge too far and reset.
I’ve been on the CBT’s but I’m hoping to cancel my preorder and get refunded. I dunno how cool they’ll be about it, shame the NA servers didn’t give us the $5 beta test preorder like EU
Yea, I’ll definitely won’t feel like paying for this game, since the quest structure seems to suck. I think if they added more instanced boss fights (there’s only 1 in the first island) or little instanced events like defending that one researcher on the bridge during the first 12 levels it might bring a lot more people. I don’t know how the later instances and quests will be like but I feel like I’m just killing/collecting x amount stuff. But since it’s cbt , I really like to play with the combat system and probably gonna try some more of the melee and casting casts.
Six, I’d recommend getting to level 20 or more. That’s where the game starts pitting you against BAMs, which will let you know whether you really want to pay for this game when it comes out.

Try getting one from their facebook page. All you need to do is like them and you’ll get a key. It’s how I got into the last beta

I’m really like this game. Combat is a lot of fun. Just isn’t fun enough for me to drop $15 a month for it. I’ll happily hop back if this goes F2P.
I find the combat fun but simply too easy (for now) and you level up way too fast, to the point where you out level the questing areas without trying. Only level 24 on my Lancer but soloing Basilisks was the easiest thing ever (even though it was 10 minutes to kill 1) and the instance in that area was fun, but only because we did a 3 man run, with no healer. Lancer/Berserker/Archer and even that was easy. With heals you can definitely just blow through it no problem.
I would honestly pay $60 for the game if it didn’t have a subscription fee. With GW2 getting closer and closer to release, I see myself just not wanting to spend time or money on other games or on MMO subs (going back to Aion after this is going to be very hard… maybe even impossible).
TERA is definitely the most polished MMO out of the game that I’ve played so far. They just made so many smart decisions in terms of design with gameplay and mechanics. From 1-20 the mobs aren’t very aggressive but that is supposedly getting changed for release, so maybe the open beta has it.
Also, Slayer DPS when level 20 and under is so fucking low, holy shit :eek:.
Fuuuu I just started Tera and rolled a Slayer. Now level 9, I haven’t really noticed the low DPS but I haven’t tried any other classes so…
Anyways, its a fun MMO. Not sure if I’ll be playing this with sooo many good games coming out very soon. My top 3 picks are PoE, D3, and GW2.
Slayer seems to get most of their damage from skills rather than auto attacks, right now I only have whirlwind and the knockdown blow, those hit really hard but their auto attack damage is yuck. Lancers definitely kill faster than they do for now. I heard that at level 20+ Slayer DPS goes up a lot, and they are top melee DPS for endgame stuff.
Yeah supposedly Slayers are better at single target DPS and Berserkers are better at multiple target DPS.
I like that it’s easy. When I start MMOs I like to go solo until I ran into an instance that requires me to team up with other players. I enjoy RPGs more when I can streamroll through everything with little effort. It’s why I grind. I been playing an archer and leveling isn’t as fast I expected it to be. I’m only on Level 11and I was on this since the last beta.
I wouldn’t mind blowing $60 on this either but fuck the sub fee. I haven’t been following GW2 but a friend of mine is going to buy me a copy just so he can have someone to play with. If it doesn’t follow the WoW formula I can easily get into it.
Hmm, yeah leveling needs to be slower by a small bit, normal mobs need to be more aggressive since there’s so many knockdown/stun abilities in this game. Most of the time they’re doing nothing.
Got a 25 lancer and 25 slayer, first beta I played in as well.
Soloing BAMs with lancer is piss easy, just slow. Being able to just block all of their attacks definitely helps, as well as having HP/5 wep enchant and bonus boss damage. Shield Bash duration glyph is so good.
Slayer is faster, need to be more careful though since the flip is on a cooldown. Got up to killing Nagas and the big fat guys. A bit weird to play, swings are fast but hit soft, but their special abilities can get some really big numbers when they crit. Definitely need to stack crit on these guys IMO.
Also started playing a berserker but only got to level 8.
It would be nice if you could just start killing boss mobs like at level 10 instead of 20. They’re really fun overall.
Yea bams are the best thing about this game. I’m playing on a pvp server though and it’s annoying how someone 15 levels above you just messes up a solo attempt on something like a Basilisk. I actually like the sorcerer better than the archer because they can deal equivalent or better dps without needing to charge or even get close. Plus being able to teleport helps dodging a lot.
GvG is pretty fun on the pvp server if you fight people around your level, but against capped guys. Not so much. I like dueling in this game and I’ve won all my duels and equal leveled ganks so far (seeing an archer save a charge then miss because I teleported when they shot is hilarious), but getting ganked from level 38 just sucks because it’s just them being a dick, since there is no incentive at all to gank unlike something like DCUO where you can do the bounty quest for exp on players around your level.
