Game isn’t really fun until BAMs. Not sure what the big deal is about subscription fees. It’s pretty generic for MMOs, as much as I don’t like it. I’m not too concerned about the cost considering you get a free month for pre-order and I don’t see myself playing TERA for more than 1-2 months due to the lack of end game and other games coming out, so at most, I pay 15$ on top of the 60$. Not a big deal. There isn’t enough end game sustain for it to last.
I’ll be interested to see how GW2 turns out. It has so many fanboys clinging to it for dear life, my friends included, so I hope it lives up to the hype.
Edit - Roll PvE. I really don’t see a reason to roll PvP unless you’re someone who’s going to gank lowbies when you get bored with the game.
Does the pve server still have open world gvg, where one guild calls out another? It’s nice to see when a big fight breaks out, just not when your a 3rd party who’s gonna eat a stray bullet.
I just don’t get how you’re willing to drop $60, but not 15$ more for a month. If you’re getting your moneys worth by playing enough hours in that month, it seems like a fair trade. I guess I have a much more cavalier attitude towards the monthly fee since I know I won’t be paying that cost for an extended amount of time. As much as I wish MMOs were free, monthly sub fees really help them with server costs and helping to develop the game further…in theory.
Real reason.
I am saving up for a new PC and plan to drop over $1k on it (new everything basically, except for storage HDDs). So any way I can save cash is something I’m willing to do. Hell, I was playing Aion of all things. Probably going back to Vindictus though.
I played WoW for a few years and didn’t really care about the sub fee, it’s just harder to stomach now because looking back on it… that was dumb as hell to do .
Also, where’s PSO2? I want that to hit the states so badly :’(
Yeah, I get it. Just got hung up on “I’m willing to pay 60 but not 15.” In all honesty, you can probably wait a while for the price to drop and just pick it up later if you really want to play it unless it dies a horrible death in 3 months.

My friend is mad at me becuase he can’t enjoy other games now because TERA’s combat system ruined it for him.
So…how long until Blade and Soul comes along? The combat in that doesn’t look turned based and seems fun. That game has more bone inducing females than this game did.
The game will go into open beta next weekend so more TERA goodness to be had until I need to pay to play.
DCUO is actually pretty decent and you can get buy without spending a dime unless you really want to play with lightning or green lantern powers. Pvp server is actually fun in DCUO because you’ll usually be fighting similar level guys in quest areas and if a higher level starts camping out an area, just shout on the server and those guys really seem to take the hero vs. villian thing well. Pvp is good enough that better man wins, even though it is lock on combat you can block and roll and there are block breakers and interrupts and stuff.

Yeah few friends of mine decided to go on Frost Reach. One of them has been playing WoW for a long time now and has a few of his guildmates from there playing the game too.
Anyone playing the OBT tomorrow? I thought I might as well, since they are keeping the characters on their server for a while and I might just start a character. I heard that they might revamp the early levels so you actually fight BAMs at a more accessible level instead of waiting till level 20.
I might roll Valley of Titans the pvp server, since it was most populated last time and this time griefers would be a closer level and easier to manage. Level and gear do make a difference, but since it’s gonna go up for real, I think people would tone down on the jackassness since people were bored in the CBT. Any other servers people playing?
