Television General Discussion

Longmire - I like this show, I really do. I just tend to forget about it since so much stuff comes on Mondays, so it takes me a while to catch up on it. It’s in the realm of gritty crime-drama with Justified, but instead of Kentucky it takes place in Wyoming near a Native American reservation. Katee Sackoff and Lou Diamond Phillips are probably the most recognizable faces on the show for anyone jumping in.

Finding Carter - It’s got potential, but at times feels like a really good Lifetime movie broken into several episodes where certain character resolutions are being stalled to drag things out. Certain characters are more reasonable (and likeable) than others, while others (especially some of the teen friends) are stuck in this strange flawed logic about the whole situation at hand. I’ll guess keep watching for now to see how much better/worse it’ll get. Alexis Denisof (Wesley from Buffy/Angel) is starring in the series.

You’re the Worst is pretty funny. Hope it gets darker

undateable got cancelled. its a shame…shits a good midsummer show. rob funches deserves to get dat hollywood money.

Halle Berry r.i.p

Extant terrible. I gave it the usual 2 episode try but it’s just too corny.

I’m not minding it yet, the mystery has me intrigued enough to see it through.

The Strain took me by surprise, damn you guys for making watch another show about vampires, I thought this was going to be about a tropical virus. The casting is a bit hit and miss but they aren’t holding back on the gore, e.g that dude literally got his entire head pummelled as flat as a pancake. :wasted:

Anyone watching Rectify, I didn’t know that someone found not guilty could later be called back to death row, wtf is going on there??

The Strain is a great show definitely intrigued from the jump especially since the vampire motif has been garbage lately. Monster design is pretty good, the actors are okay. The dude from house of cards is cool in my book but that hair piece lol

I’m just glad it’s on fx and not some other shit basic cable network.

i know del toro is involved with the strain somehow. are the monsters similar to hellboy and pans labyrinth. he tends to use the same person for his monsters.

Just finished watching the From Dusk Til Dawn TV series. I’m a bit wary of all these movies made into shows right now. This one lacks the grindhouse-ness but actually really good stuff. Runs parallel to the movie, with a few tweaks and greater depth.

“Hey F”

“Hey F”

“Hey F”

“Hey F”

F OFF!! That nickname does not work

Yeh I like that actor too, hadn’t really noticed the hair piece, but no doubt I will now

I gave up on that series after Bruce Lee got turned into a vampire, the writing and action was just horrible as soon as they arrived at the bar, everything up till the border episode was excellent. Is the remainder of the season worth watching?

Yea the vampires for a lack of a better word feel like creatures of the night instead of true blood, vampire diaries or twilight bullshit. What monsters they have shown look a bit like the movie I Am Legend.

I’m guessing the big guy is Dracula, fingers crossed he doesn’t turn out like Blade 3’s

Was there a reason why this guy got his head smashed in, instead of being turned?

I sensed a lot of random anger in this scene

The old dude said you had to remove the head, I’m assuming this prevents them turning into vampire zombies. I assuming Dracula is rather picky on who he passes his genetic code onto, I’m also thinking he didn’t have the energy to devour everyone on the plane because some of them survived.

I’m wondering how he landed the plane lol

Why? How about why not? If you’re going to go ham, do it in the season premiere where the audience’s expectations are the highest.

Actually, the people that survived were all assholes from what I remember.

My guess: The survivors might be either immune, or their transformation might be superior/stronger while the dead ones are more like almost-mindless predators.

Hes probably the original vamp/carrier. Doesnt want any weaker types or ‘offspring’.

SO there’s this show on MTV right now called Virgin Territory-- WOW it’s a damn shame that Mikaela is a virgin (*allegedly). Pure PAWGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG (aka BLACK KRYPTONITE™) right there, yes yes. Someone needs to hit that hard and thoroughly for Great Justice. She just needs to keep her midsection under control of course, I see already that it’s a bit of a potential problem area for her.

annnd of course there’s now one that is the classic “I’m a Christian so I am saving myself for marriage” type…she’s quite cute as well, but I’d definitely pick Mikaela over her.

haha, she’s engaged to be married so she’s going to drop those panties off soon though… that’s a shame that this dude Nick is needing to go through all that just to start hitting it on a regular basis.
Ohhh and she’s claiming she has never even masterbated before? Yeah ok… if true then wow she sure is a fun one.

Teaser for season 5 of BoardWalk Empire

Nope survivors arent immune, but it must be something about the virus that either kills you and turns you into a minion, or mutates you into a true vampire. I would just read the book and spoil the show for myself, but id rather wait. lol. So far only the survivors have been shown to have a telepathic link with someone, and i assume its the big bad who smashes heads. The survivors also seem to have to be cold, along with the big bad, so we know sun light, silver, and likely being over heated is not good for them.

I randomly saw The Strain on my private torrent list, and was like, whats that, googled it, watched both episodes today, and im hooked. Finally a different take on vampires for tv. It seems to be a bit more heavy on the science of it so far, which is dope, but the big bad seems to have abilities far beyond the normal vampire. He scooped up his fucking coffin that weighed 500 pounds and leaped up with it in an instant, to the point that they couldnt see anything until they slowed down the tape, so yeah, i dont know who is taking him out anytime soon. lol

This show reminds me of fringe, mixed with blade 2 vampires, and blade in general science of vampires type stuff. The only tv show i had was Power and suits, now i have this to help with the week too, except, Power and The Strain both come on, on sunday, so there is nothing until suits later in the week. Summer sucks for tv, but fall is gonna be great as usual.
