Television General Discussion

I actually checked that out last night when I had enough of SportsCenter. I enjoyed it for what it was, but more from a nostalgic perspective. It has potential though.

whoah, I am surprised to see Hemlock Grove return. I was sure that I was the only person that watched and cared about that show.

*Extant-- they just had to go and put Camryn Manheim on the damn show
well, I will just have to mentally block her out as I tune in to catch my #1, Queen Halle.

*It’s good to see that “The Strain” is apparently not “just another zombie show”
bring on more vampire stuff, hell yea. Zombies got stale a few centuries ago in terms of overall entertainment value.

The Strain and Hemlock came out? Cool that I got some creepy shit to peep while it thunders outside tonight.

I think the Strain starts as some disease and turns into some demonic shit. So basically Doom for Earth.

covert affairs is back and we got triple og pink ranger
loookin smokin. hahahah bout to give the blind agent a bj hahah

I tuned in to this Originals repeat just in time
this happens to be the episode where Elijah gives his word to that witch that he won’t let Klaus kill the other witches

heh, because HE went on to kill those bitches himself. It went on to be one of the greatest “MULTI-KILL!” scenes I’ve ever witnessed on television.

*edit-- it is episode 6, “Fruit of the Poisoned Tree”.

whoah and I forgot that it looked like Marcel and Rebecca were about to get it on with some hot vampire sex there, but the aforementioned legendary kill-scene is about to happen in the next minute
this is something people must see for themselves
words don’t accurately convey how awesome it is.

haha, the "oh holy shit :wow: " look on that last witch’s face was priceless. Also, once again Elijah did all this without even messing up his suit. (*he takes a handkerchief out of the breast pocket to wipe some blood off his hands while talking to the last one before snapping her neck.)

*yep, and Marcel did indeed lay pipe in 'Becca’s sweet ass. I forgot if something interrupted them but apparently not.

The Challenge: Free Agents
Results

Spoiler

Final Challenge
Winners: Bananas, Laurel
Second Place: Johnny, Nany
Third Place: Zach, Devyn

The Last Draw (top 4 becomes top 3; 2 ‘Kill Cards’ in play; follow-up Elimination Challenge)
Safe: Zach, Johnny, Nany, Devyn
Kill Card: Bananas, CT, Laurel, Theresa
Elimination Game: Puzzle Pyramid (3 stages)
Winners: Bananas, Laurel
Eliminated: CT, Theresa

Thoughts on final challenge/season:
Satisfied that the people I had picked to win, won.
The overall scenario with time record determining the winner(s) and the assignment pairings for the first three legs (out of five) of the challenge, was kinda interesting, especially with the drama in some pairings.

For a season that somewhat focused on individuals (to an extent), there were a lot of team-based challenges. M/F pair challenges were fine though, despite pairings.

‘The Draw’, while interesting, could be tweaked, maybe.
I liked the scenario with 2 Kill Cards in ‘The Last Draw’ though.
Like, people managed to squeak by going to an elimination round, by virtue of not even having to draw a card, cause someone else pulled the Kill Card before they did, or people pulled a safe card and forced the Kill Card on someone else, instead.
Everyone in ‘The Draw’ should choose and draw their cards, all at the same time, IMO.

Bananas and Laurel, targeted they were for elimination, did work, and went on to win.
Devyn and Johnny making it to the end was surprising, considering they both dodged elimination stuffs, via ‘The Draw’ (the latter avoided an Elimination Challenge due to circumstances of someone else leaving), and were in the middle ground, so to speak.
Nany was an interesting finals entry, but Zach succumbing to physical fatigue was quite surprising.
Would’ve preferred CT and either/both Cara Maria and Theresa in the Final Challenge instead though, mainly to round out the endgame trios with possible continuity of past-challenge drama.

Overall, Free Agents was a pretty good season, especially with the change-up in pre-elimination stuffs with addition of 'The Draw.'
It would’ve been nice to see more varied (particular) people go through elimination rounds, rather than avoid/evade them.

Hmm
I wonder what the next The Challenge season will be. Probably a follow-up to a previous theme, or something.

I caught-up on Penny Dreadful and I got to say I enjoyed it. All the little elements and bat-shit craziness (Eva Green’s invisible smash session was amazing) really made things interesting. How all the iconic horror monsters/characters were mixed organically is a credit to it. Almost hated Timothy Dalton’s character until the end, some of his motives were reasonable but a little over-the-top.

Ah yes
 the draw

But yeah, I did enjoy this season. I actually almost stop caring about the show because of alliances and predictable team-ups, but the draw and free agents meant people had to possibly rely on anyone (including the individuals they hate). Now that random element made things much interesting, and I hope they keep some of those same elements for the next go-round.

Girl Meets World was cute but the laugh track is murder. If you didn’t notice, you will now.

EXTANT premiere on CBS right now, featuring my #1, The Immortal Queen Herself, Halle.

She is shown throwing up in the first scene, yet she is still outrageously hot and perfect to me. My lust has been strong for this one since 1991, folks.

In regards to last night’s Hell’s Kitchen

[details=Spoiler]Boy did Joy fuck herself in the end.
I thought she was past those temper tantrums from earlier.
I honestly believe that she could’ve made top 2
but no she had to bitch and quit in the middle of service.

Rochelle and Jason for top 2.

Great episode of Rectify last night, a lot of humour and touching moments.

LeftOvers is my shit. This episode was great, and the season teaser trailer looked nuts.

Ray Donovan is back, also a great episode, Ray doing what he does best, season teaser trailer also looked great.

I’m not a sailor I’m a Captain!

BRB

I think Utopia is back as well this week, I haven’t had a chance to watch the episode, but last season was decent. Comicbook nerds make sure you watch the previous season before starting the new one.

Falling Skies has picked up since the dismal first episode, looks like it wont be a slow burner of a season, the shit is going to hit the fan a lot quicker.

Edit: Utopia was brilliant, the first episode is set in the 70s but next ep will be set today, hopefully they’ll do more 70’s episodes because that was very well done. Violence has been dialled up a lot, it was fairly gory. I’m hearing that a load of complaints were filed at channel 4, haven’t heard specifically about what, but I’m gonna take a wild guess and say it was probably something to do with a live rabbit and a sharp knife.
Props to that baby/toddler actor, don’t know how they managed to get him to not fidget around like a typical kid would even with cute fluffy animals in his vicinity.

anyone check out the strain?

I will get to it as soon as I am done with 9403453904543 other shows I missed when I was on vacation :wasted:

The Strain with that Mortal Kombat kill flair

Not yet, it was a toss up between that and Extant, I went with Señor Spielbergo and Halle Berry.

i will never get used to dominion
