Vampires are awesome just they’ve been written like total shit the last few years. I’m staying awayfrom anything Vampire related for a while unil this teenfad for them wears off and they go back to ripiiping peoples necks open and overall being the violet assholes they are supposed to be.
And yea i’m wih Furious One, Person of Interest is the show to watch.
Sheeeit, there’s plenty of the violence on Originals, and surprisingly, it happens often on Vampire Diaries, though with TVD I know most guys probably just assume it’s purely for girls based on the presence of “Diaries” in the title. People on there have been burned, had their hearts torn out, staked, etc… I think there’s even been decapitations on VD before… also, necks get snapped on a regular basis. There was also a great scene at the end of one or 2 seasons ago on VD where Klaus showed up to a gathering of Werewolves and killed literally everyone out there…the dude was on a “RAMPAGE!” like a round of Unreal Championship 2. Anyway, vampires tend to be inherently badass, imo, with the notorious exception of what I’ve seen going on in the Twilight movies…something any vampire fan should just pretend never really happened…much like Dragonball GT.
*haha, I’m still laughing at the fact that this woman on Dr. Drew’s show right now is “Dr. Ho”…her real last name is HO. Dr. Judy Ho. (and she’s a hot little piece too… I’d pounce instantly.)
*I’ll need to go back to the good ol’ VHS days of just recording shows and watching them later… sometimes I really don’t feel like watching tv, but of course I want to keep up with the shows I like. Sheeit, I’m already 2 episodes behind on American Horror Story… and the bastards are showing the new episode before the repeat, of course… I don’t feel like staying up so much later to watch them in order.
one day someone of worth will give us a proper hellsing movie, with proper casting, not just picking names from hollywood that dont fit, but will fill the seats. it will be violent, intelligent, scary, not grounded in reality in anyway, no songs by linkin park in the ost, and just viciously awesome.
also, yeah i like when vampires are given more mysticism, like how they were in van helsing. although i am enjoying the fuck out of, “the originals” right now. i like vampires who are basically violent gods. they know magic, they can shapeshift, they can fly, teleport, psychic abilities, drink blood or even live without it for centuries, etc… the problem is it can be hard to balance out a character that broken, because if its not great, people will just pick its plot holes to pieces.
but i mean, it did well for vampire hunter d, plus its easy in general. you just make a character that powerful very blase about everything, so he doesnt end up meddling in affairs that much, and give him a definitive weakness that another very powerful character possesses and go from there.
its kind of a shame that the most basic monsters of horror really havent seen anything new in forever, outside of manga, comics, and anime. all the tv and movie shit has pretty much done the same shit, or made those mythos weaker with emotional bullshit. tv i understand, ya gotta work within your budget, but movies have set the bar so low when it comes to werewolves, vampires, ghost, zombies, and witches. its just unfortunate that the people who write those movies for those mythos, generally probably do not even know shit about shit. theyre probably like shitty sitcom writers that got hired to write a new movie about witches. lol
im into the paranormal, paranormal tv (scripted and non scripted), manga, comics, anime, legends(books), mythologies(books), religious and spiritual text, etc… so i just get pretty disappointed with movies and tv shows about the big 5. there is little to no imagination whatsoever. the wizard of oz had more imagination then most of these shows, and that shit came out in fucking 1939.
at least with hollywood sucking, it leaves the room open for new talent to eventually come do it right. maybe one day i will stop posting on srk, and just write some shit, rather then rant about it. im a bigger fan of werewolves and magic, so expect that shit in my movie. bring the alpha male back to the big screen. no more of this androgynous male vampire shit.
if people can get the feels for the hulk, they will be fapping in the theater to my werewolves. who needs pale white males in slim fitting jeans.
So, Why We (Heart) Vampires is on NBC right now… “Elvira” Cassandra Peterson is on there, and she’s actually still looking hot… she’s immortal for real, apparently. I’d still pounce immediately, without question.
Oooh now they’re asking what the best power is… this special is done in a lighthearted tone, of course.
Of all the powers, I’m not even sure… I’d most likely go with the immortality, but a close 2nd place is that compulsion charm effect. You just keep a low profile, not draw any unnecessary attention to yourself, and you could seriously live forever, or at least as long as humans and other animals continue to exist in this world.
This is also being hosted by the incredible Tamron Hall. That girl is welcome to sit on myself any time.
*oh yeah, my baby Kerry Washington will be hosting the next Saturday Night Live. Finally, I have a reason to possibly watch. Haha, I haven’t given 2 shits about that show in the past several years. “Debbie Downer” was the last great thing to happen on SNL.
they talk about the most bad-ass vampire of all time and only 1 person on there mentioned Blade? NO mention of Klaus from TVD/Originals? Nigga please, get the hell out of here with this NBC-slant/biased shit
Anyways, finished Orange is The New Black 2 days ago. It started off a little weak, but I stuck with it because it has such a unique premise and diverse cast and I’m glad I did because by episode 4 I was hooked. The only big misfire that stops the show from being truly great is it’s attempt to draw too much viewer sympathy, after all these are criminals who were caught fair and square, most of them make immoral, selfish choices while in Prison, and their lifestyle is a lot more comfortable than what most of us imagine when we think of prison so emotionally it fails to make us care too much about their hardships. Suck it up and deal with it bitches. That being said the characters and the plot feel so authentic and are presented in such a flat, matter of fact manner so everything speaks for itself and lets the viewer get involved at their own pace which stands in stark contrast to most other TV shows which regardless of genre over dramatize every little thing making them seem fake and hollow.
yeah, Dracula is on NBC. I’m enjoying it while I can, since it probably won’t last… this network is notoriously tough on their own shows; they often have ridiculous expectations on ratings… then it’s on Friday night…
Grimm may have snagged a new fan here, since I just noticed that this show has that Prime Iranian Cougar, Shoreh Agladashoo…along with some supernatural stuff going on. I’m easy to please when it comes to supernatural content in shows and movies. Realism sucks, give me a show with vamps, werewolves, ghosts, fairy-tale characters (*Once Upon A Time), gods and goddesses, killer androids, etc. etc. I’ll take that any day over your average show that just deals with real-world stuff.
At least 2 notable exceptions of course are the legendary “24” and “Criminal Minds”… you can’t deny the quality of those. I tend to watch Criminal Minds just when there’s a marathon of it on…which for some reason is quite often on numerous channels.
*On the animated front, CN has removed Beware the Batman (oh what a surprise), so once again I have no reason to watch that channel at any time other than the occasional Toonami viewing. This frees up Saturday mornings for the repeats of Spectacular Spiderman and Justice League Unlimited on the CW lineup, which I think they’re calling “Vortex” now.
ohooo “Best Week Ever” is still on VH1?!? Hell yeah… I already missed half this episode though…
you guys like grimm? i tuned in the entire first season, even taking like a month plus break then coming back. it got better, but its still a highly mediocre show (5/10). i just fiend for anything supernatural, so i will watch shit, but i cannot watch that shit anymore. i watched the first 3 minutes of the first episode of the new season, and was like, who the fuck cares.
i mean, they havent even explained how this so called grimm is even able to do what he does, and not get ripped to shreds. hes just a fucking human with a lineage. no one intellectually deduced that hes nothing more then a watered down version of his ancestors, and to be honest, his ancestors shouldnt have gotten away with what they did. THEYRE JUST FUCKING HUMANS. if that werewolf dude can rip a mans arm off, then he can murder a grimm no problem (and he is fairly tamed compared to his ancestors, i assume). at least one as ill equipped as our current main character. but i guess the thing is, no one knows hes a bullshit ass grimm. i mean though, its not like his mother, who was a hardcore grimm, was any different or better then him. she didnt possess any magic abilities, she didnt have any special weapons, special training, special potions, etc… she was just some mid 50s woman who could somehow kick ass and instill fear into a creature who can RIP FUCKING LIMBS OFF OF HUMAN BEINGS.
the show is a catastrophe of what monster is next, and his wife who is beautiful, is nothing more then chicken fodder for the plot, as the main dude stumbles through life and being a grimm. the show is not just unbelievable, its outright stupid as fuck. at the very least a grimm should have some supernatural strength (like buffy), or maybe protected by magics he is unaware of, or something. hes just some guy fighting things 5 to 10 times his strength, and walking away UNSCATHED.
grimm is a disgrace to the mythologies they use, and a vastly unimaginative retelling of the grimm stories. this show is pure and utter trash to be pissed on and hissed at.
grimm is like the new “heroes” no one gives a shit about, but someone is investing in it for some stupid ass reason. at least i walked away from season 1 of heroes not wanting to whip myself on the dick with a coaxial cable until i passed out.
The Originals is the best new drama to have come out in a long time. Occasionally, Vampire Diaries reaches great heights. The Originals is like that show, at its best, at all times.
THE ORIGINALS.
Unbelievable…unfuckingbelievable… Elijah just ended that entire group of people in about 2 to 3 seconds, and made it look effortless. Seriously, he was perfectly calm like this only took the same amount of effort needed to pour a drink. That was LEGENDARY badassness right there. Words cannot do it justice…you people would need to see it for yourself. I knew they were going there with that scene and it was still awesome.
