Lol, I got T2 on PSN. I’m going to play it when I get home.
Nothing is as manly as an ISW… Well, besides maybe CH d/f+2~ewgf combos.
The Octopus stretch is an item move for King in T6: BR…
btw, about T2. I use to play it competitively in st.louis(golds gym use to host pretty big tourneys for it). People think juggles are bad now, but the damage use to be a LOT higher in the tekken series. :china:
Because the majority of games have X as confirm and it makes more since since X marks the spot.
please
tekken 2 was the first playstation game I owned :wonder:
Tekken 2 = No-Stick-Baek
How big is Tekken in the US? I have been playing Tekken quite alot since it originally came out and it has always been my favourite fighting game. I live in the UK so with pretty much no arcades I just used to play with my brother. Since Street Fighter IV came out I have played it seriously as you can play over xbox live and I’ve realised the size of the community such as SRK. I really want to pick tekken 6 up again seriously but the only thing is when evo and other tourneys are talked about Tekken is barely ever mentioned. Is Tekken taken as seriously as Street Fighter and other fighting games?
Yea tekken is taken seriously, But theres only a few places that have it to begin with. So that kinda hurts out community
Tekken is played very seriously, very seriously indeed. The reason why you hadn’t heard much on it in the tournament scene as of late was because it’s been so long since the last console release of a tekken game, while the arcades have had T6 for quite some time. Basically, all the big guns jumped to 6, and most tournaments couldn’t afford the machines, or are like Evo and are console only. T6 will be at evo this year, and the hypest tournament at Devastation was T6. Presently though, many top players in the US haven’t had an opportunity to put significant time into the game, like Slips for example.
Of course, Tekken is also a LOT more difficult than street fighter to play at high-level, at least in my honest opinion. If someone doesn’t agree with me on that, then we’ll agree to disagree, but this is the way I see it.
After october 27th expect any tournament worth considering attending to have T6 in the lineup as a major tournament.
Same here, during the days of Tekken 2-4 I never really had a main, until T5, Feng Wei was it, well, now that I’ve been playing it, I now know my mains are
T2: Bruce
T3: Bryan
TTT: Bruce Bryan combo
T4: Bryan, Jin
T5: Feng Wei, Bruce, Bryan, Hwoarang, Raven, Kazuya, Jin, Heihachi, Devil Jin
T6: Lars, Leo
Yes I am nuts for learning 9 characters, but I like them all so much x.x
Haven’t seen you play Mishimas since…never.

T2 : Lee
T3 : FUCK T3 ! no Lee = FAIL! ( i’m jk , i used Hwor and Yoshi but still fuck them for not having Lee )
T4 : Lee , Steve
T5 : Lee , Steve , Raven
T5DR : Lee , Drag , Lili
T6 : Lee , Drag , Lili , Zafina , and hopefully Lars
you in nola? I bought a TE stick from your ghetto ass mall’s gamestop. I know a few people in MS that are into tekken. We should meet halfway sometime
I usually played team battles so I had atleast 8 characters that I knew quite well but since tekken 3 my main has been Jin. Thinking of picking up Lars in 6 when it’s out in the UK but I’m not sure might stick with Jin or Devil Jin.
It’s good to hear that Tekken 6 is gunna be big because I’m really looking forward to picking it up seriously.
Yeah eddie is really hard to play.
Everyone who knows their shit knows this. Despite the fact they still want to dickride SF4 for $$ and fame or what have you, the real comp will be in BR AND/or BB depending on the balance patch.
Tekken isn’t exactly hard to get into, series has been one of the most accessible fighters around, nowhere near BB or VF.
Playing eddy high-level is a LOT harder than you would like to think. I take it your post is trying to take a shot at people who say eddy is a button mashers dream character when frankly that’s not the case.
If you’re even an intermediate player, you can MANHANDLE a button masher using any character, especially an eddy player. Why? Because button mashers aren’t going to use eddy’s main tools, being his relax mix-up (which is heavily in his favor in terms of risk-vs-reward) and rodeo.
Want to take down a button mashing eddy? You need only 2 tools, the low-parry, and back-dash canceling. Both of them are going to give you the match, every single time.
Seeing as how you didn’t know any of this, at all, and just figured he’s a scrub character(he’s DEFINITELY not) I’ll take it you’re on the list of people who do not, infact, know their shit. Especially seeing as how he’s not even top-tier.
Sadly, it seems more than a few people do not know their shit. They claim to love fighters, but have no idea just how much work goes into being a high-level tekken player. I mean, you have to not only know your character’s move list, but also your set ups, punishment, frames, crushes as well… Then you also need to know them for your opponent(and mind you, there’s a LOT of characters in the game) as well, so as to not fall into their game-plan. Finally, you have to come up with your own traps and tricks so as to be able to catch opponents off guard, which considering the amount of players is pretty difficult… I know I’ve contributed new tricks/traps/and set ups to the tekken community even years after T5: DR came out.
Don’t even get me started on movement… :cybot:
See above onslaught, it’s not hard to pick up and play, but to actually play high-level it gets harder than most people give it credit for.
BB?? Is this a joke?
At what level are you talking here
I don’t play them vs you, I ain’t good with them yet. And I’ve played you with Jin before.
Lain: If I get transportation, sure.
