TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion Thread - PS3/XBOX 360 Oct. 27, PSP Nov. 3

Yep, this is why I stopped going to TZ for years. You got niggas writing essay paragraphs about the use of one move.

If anyone is complimenting tekken 4 in this thread, they completely lose all credibility to me.

oh my god, please shoot me.

TZ mods

lol

Hey MarkMan why’d your youtube account get taken down? There was a certain dragunov vid on there I used to watch all the time. Any idea where I can find it?

The video you linked is painful to watch.

But, T4 minus the crap in the video is a good game. It wouldn’t have been tough to stick with the t4 engine and just playtest more.

He makes a valid point though, because no matter what top play will include whatever is most successful in the engine. It just so happens that launch, get to wall, wall juice has been generally the best plan of attack for a while now. People can claim differently, but look at even the last T5/DR tournies.

yes, launch -> wall is still around and has been around.

But, I find fault in the video because of 2,1 and parry and jfls and that’s the junk I’m talking about

EDIT: So to summarize my point and bring this back on-topic: I would like a refined T4 engine in future games in the series. I hope BR moves in that direction.

I dunno shit about tekken. But why the hate? I thought they were all the same, just more characters get added. Was a certain character broke or something?

Atomic Moth - It seems to be mostly people who have played only a little, or haven’t played who are complaining. Before I played, I wasn’t sure what I thought of T6, but after heavily playing, I realize just how fun it actually is. Namco isn’t screwed at all, because T6 is the most heavily played arcade game here, and its because its fun as hell to play. These people complaining are still prolly gonna get T6/BR, and stuff like B! and rage aren’t gonna change because the system mechanics will remain the same, I’m sure itll just be some character tweaks and stuff, and maybe a new character or two. But hey, if you really don’t like Tekken, find a “better” game to play?

I’ve had the chance to play a few times here in Houston. I like the game, just like I like DR and every tekken since T2. Namco will still have a great franchise and money-maker on their hands, no matter what they do. My reference to them being ‘fucked’ is purely in the eye of critics, like the ones all over this thread. There will always be something to criticize, especially since the series has gone so far with juggling and bound and what not.

As a fan of the series and a semi-competitive player, my opinion is that a turn towards T4 physics and gameplay is a good direction to take.

I don’t mean to shit all over T6. The game is fun, the characters are unique, and it has a good balance of realism and stuff flying everywhere. If you can find a better fighting game to play, let me know. Because I can’t find one.

And I agree, BR will probably not change the series much.

I realized after playing some DR today, that there is nothing to worry about in regards to B! and shit. T5DR already has combos that take over 50% of your life anyways. T6 just refitted that same damage into longer combos using Bound, so I actually just don’t give a fuck anymore. I mean I already knew that T5DR was already really juggle friendly, just like T6 and that the combos did that much damage, I guess I was just awed by the length of T6’s bound combos, which made me think that it was completely different. It’s the exact same amount of damage. All you guys need to stop crying. I just wanna play it now.

seriously, i don’t get when people say t6 isn’t fun.

it might not be a perfect game. hell, you can make a case that it isn’t even a GOOD game.

but its fun. its got some cheap shit and some stupid WTF moments and yes, rage is dumb-dumb, but t6 is alot more fun than dr, more fun than t5 and alot more fun than t4… it needs some changes so that the game is fun while balancing a few other things, but the game is fun… if you couldn’t tell.

t4 was the shit

after it…it just got boring…

I loved the uneven stages :.( and positioning throws…and violet lol

those t6 combos are just ugh. enraged near full health combo? gtfo

^^^ This.

I personally like the combination of a movelist stuffed full of short strings and the ability to put them together in long combos. The result is a game that allows for more creativity. 5.0/DR is the best example of this in Tekken so far and 6 is extending that. General mid/high level play you’ll be seeing mayyybe 50-65 damage average per juggle but now it’s up to you HOW you want to get that. And that translates into MY Lee playing differently from the next man’s Lee but no less effectively just because I’m using DIFFERENT juggles. Nothing is worse than having to stick to 1 or 2 combos because you don’t have options.

It’s like comparing DMC to Ninja Gaiden. Both fantastic action games but Devil gives you more creativity to take enemies out how you see fit.

People will be picky. There’s people who don’t exactly like the way VF is going either but you gotta keep shit interesting for the masses.

Atomic Moth - I wasn’t referring to “you” in particular, more the random people in the thread who are saying that it sucks. I wasnt even meaning to critisize you, if anything i was kinda just saying that namco isnt fucked cause people who havent played the game yet are whining, lol. And yes, atm I find T6 the most fun fighter to play, personally.

Beats - Have you played it yet, or are you another person who’s talking out of your ass from one or two combo videos youve seen. You play MARVEL of all games, the brokest of the broke, and you call Tekken combos bad?

First off, being in rage, yeah it does give more damage, we know that already.

2nd off, getting those huge combos are sooo range/juggle specific. You have to be in rage, get the right juggle, right distance from the wall to maximize damage, THEN the ground has to break at the end of THAT. It doesnt happen often at all, and when it does, its more cool than anything else, kinda like getting that AHVB x5 against another players full life sentinel + assist.

Play something before you randomly walk into a thread and start spouting nonsense.

ulovemikeroch - Dude, thats pretty much spot on. Asuka combos in DR were boring. You could do some without even moving the joystick (1+2 1+4 123) It was bland. And doing “Harder” combos were pretty hard cause it never made sense to do them when you could just do easy stuff like b+213 f+1+2.

In T6, even tho its similar damage, it’s a LOT more fun to do the bound combos, and depending on the kinda wakeup i want, i can get the same damage with wakeups that are equally good in different ways. I have a lot more freedom with my juggles, and theres really not one “best” juggle that I can see, because its situation dependant, which makes it way more fun. Just doing combos ALONE is more fun in T6 than DR, as is the actual gameplay itself imo. But of course, lets shit on the game because characters bounce…OOOH!!

There ARE different combinations in T6. You gotta learn to be more creative, I havent even played it yet and I can come up with a few things in my head. Theory fighter ftw.

Well I said the games after 4…being 5 and DR, were boring. don’t have a fit now

I was mostly mentioning my love of 4 :lovin:

marvel ain’t broke! lol, it’s magic! the most extreme in marvel would be ahvb…which you would have to work hard to get against someone who’s at least your level and rushing your ass down…and you still have 2 other characters…

cable himself ain’t that broke, well…yes and no…but considering how many tourneys he’s placed in/won…hmmm. it’s all santhrax/matrix/msp and shit

I saw regularly high damaging combos in others t6 vids…it just don’t feel right to me in 3d fgames…especially after coming from 4. they might not be 85%…but 40%-60% is still a lot

my love of t4 wasn’t nonsense >.>

though I wasn’t specifically “shitting” on t6…and I don’t mind bound or long combos…just the damage I see them regularly do…to 1 life bar…maybe just less damage would help (3 bars to go through in marvel…)

also, if it’s sorta along the same lines as 5…I would probably find it boring compared to 3/ttt/4

though if the game is a bit more creative and different for the characters, including combos…that’s something good at least. launch, jab, jab, jab…

But have you played 6 yet?

All you have written means that you agree with me.

Tiers play no role, only skill and experience.

Exactly, most who complain must not have played the game. Yes it’s cheap, yes its outright dumb sometimes, but damnit it’s fun. The best players still win even though beginners have a better chance than before.

Someone negged me because I dissed tekken 4 :(. Everything about that game was terrible including the music, the character select palette, the announcer’s voice, the music, the uneven stages.

The best thing about tekken 4 was tekken force.
