grats to MYK and his new site. i will be pushing a lot of people to that site when its in full force.
i think they are learning the match ups, plus i bet just for fun. thanks for the link, trying to learn more from the koreans this time around.
koreans = tekken gods ha!!!
i seconded the notion of someone translating MDJ insights!
thanks bilal
EDIT: if anyone else has really good korean/japanese youtube links for tekken. please do post them, thanks in advance!!!
*"YES! Apparently IGN is finally doing what they should be; providing useful game information! They set up a Tekken Section on IGN.com, but the cool part is the producer is going to be writing a blog with random info on a regular basis.
Now this blog doesn’t really say anything new. The main, “WOO! YAY” thing was that he kinda confirmed there will be an on/off option for motion blur!!!
Can’t wait. I hope online is as good/better than SF. If they can make it as tight as VF online, this game is going to be sitting in my console for a LONG time.
Oh well, that’s one less rage quitter we need to worry about ^_~
I’m personally VERY excited about the console version of T6. I need to get some funds together so I can get a better stick for it because my Hori EX2 is not cutting it. (I hate square gates >.<) I was thinking about modding it, but the cost and time of adding sanwa components isn’t worth it.
What’s everyone’s wish list for the console release’s content?
I’d like to see all the characters unlocked from the beginning. I’m tired of having to unlock characters in fighting games especially fulfilling ridiculous requirements like earning Gouken in SFIV or Devil Jin in Tekken 5 (Devil Within was not fun.) I’ll play through all of the story mode stuff anyway, but I honestly would like to sit down in versus mode with my friends and we could all play our respective characters. Besides, I’ve gone through enough data corruption to where it’s annoying to have to unlock everyone. There’s going to be over 40 characters… sigh
What makes you think you’re going to have to unlock characters? Just because it’s a console port? You had to unlock them in 5.0, but they were also time released in the arcade. DR had all characters available from the start in arcade and console ports, sans Jinpachi, even though PS3 was meant to be direct arcade port. BR has all PLAYABLE characters available from the start and the only unlocking you’ll be doing is for other stuff, and maybe if they go crazy and throw in a console exclusive character or two. You never know with Namco.
But dont worry about having to unlock Lars, Alisa, Devil Jin, or co.
Nice! Is there anything like this site but already has alot of information about the game mechanics and how it works? Sorta like eventhubs but for tekken?
Even if the characters had to be unlocked, all you have to do is set the game to the easiest setting and one round. You could do all of them in an hour or two.
Arcade 6.0/BR did away with time release characters - ignoring Mokujin in the former - so the console should do away with unlocking any characters as well.
Plus, Namco needs something to quench any momentum MVC2 will get this summer, even if it means following suit.
EDIT: I wanna see Moku-Alisa in action. Hot damn is that possible?
That’s isn’t quite true. In the console version of 5.0 you either had to play 200 matches or beat Devil Within to unlock Devil Jin… Very irritating… I just think that character unlocks are a bit too old fashioned and convoluted. I don’t really care if Azazel or Nancy have to be unlocked, but for everyone else I hope Namco goes the way of the console version of DR.
Oh and what about the ranking and money system? Do you think it should be applied to local versus matches as well? I know in the console version of 5.0 that wasn’t the case… I would really like to see it applied because I play a ton of local matches against my brother who is just as good as I am and we have a twelve year rivalry in Tekken.
I don’t give a shit about having to play to unlock things, cuz Namco makes that shit fun what with story mode featuring speeches/shit-talk between characters, and beautiful cg endings, as well as sweet prologue art. The majority of us have never even played REGULAR 6, so story mode gives us the perfect chance outside of practice to try the new shit without having to wait 15 minutes and try it again when we lose. Save that hate for Capcom. They made that shit ridiculous in the first place.
There was a very short and bland interview on Major Nelson’s podcast with In Joon Hwang from Namco about the console version of T6. The only interesting tidbit was a reference to the online multi-player. Hwang stated that online versus would be implementing a global versus, but also an “amazing online feature to be announced around E3 time frame” and also stated that there is going to be a large amount of bonus content that we, the fans, are not expecting.
So what do you guys think? How much of this is marketing-speak designed to create hype? MarkMan over on SDTekken hinted via twitter about a surprise to be announced soon. Are these one and the same? I assumed the post was related to a SDT specific announcement, but now I’m not so sure.
I still doubt that they’ll push for the unlocking stuff this time around (there was none of that in the arcade, unlike in the past), but 200 matches is better than $5, right? :karate:
You know…a Tag Tournament mode* would be pretty fuckin’ sweet, as well as the only way I can see “online multiplayer” happening…unless they’re gonna do it like Soul Calibur’s story mode, where the other guy only dashes out when his partner is defeated.
*I know: they said they would not make another TTT GAME…they didn’t say shit about not making it a vs mode feature in a pre-existing game.
Would you guys quit whining and just check the connection status of the room you want to play in instead of entering blindly?! I play t5dr online damn near every day. No lag. Why? I go for the GREEN bars, instead of just jumping into shit blindly. …or maybe your internet connection/area service just is unreliable. I dunno.
