All the new T6 stuff…
Grr, more trailers. I just want the game!
Side note: I think it’s funny how GameTrailer’s Tekken 6 logo for the Tekken 6 page is the Tekken 3 logo with a “6” pasted onto it.

Plus those new trailers are good. Damn its a good year to have a PS3.
lol I’m making a Gangstalicious custom with Bruce (if it’s possible).
Prolly get flamed for posting this here but couldn’t find another spot for it around, I stopped playing tekken at tekken 4 when they changed jin and he played a style i just didn’t enjoy, I wasn’t/won’t be a tourny guy most likely I’d like to just play because it’s fun and I enjoy playing as jin so I dont want to be in a tourny mentality and go, well jins low tier I wont ever win and go for a high tier just to win, I’d like to main jin just because I enjoy it. Was reading up on the cards, But theres no place with solid info, I understand it records your progress and such and you use it to customize your char but my question is basically I read that with the slot game, both players get the coins, but in arcades when someone loses I see them grab their card right away, why not wait if you have a chance of getting loot? Another thing was I saw something written about play counts, and that the card runs out, but you can transfer it, Like I said i wouldn’t normally post a question like this i’d research it out first but no sites have solid info, i found info on tekken 5 but people say a lot changed, so just wondering if anyone can lay it out for me. I do plan on playing T6 BR, yeah i’m a newb/scrub etc but oh well the game was fun way back when and it looks like jins moves are closer to what it use to be than it was in 4 >_<, i’m sure it’s different than his old moves but his style looks cool this time. Well sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance if anyone can answer.
first of all tier really doesn’t mean a whole lot in tekken. if you have the skill you can beat anyone’s ass with any char. so saying that you can pick jin and if you want to get good and go to a tourney. your just as lethal as the rest of comp. devil jin plays way more like old jin… so try him out and see what you think. as arcade goes i fit in the 95% who doesn’t have an arcade scene.
Thanks for the info on devil jin i’ll try him out. When I first saw him he freaked me out due to his wings being so big. I know they dont affect him it’s just wierd looking at it while people are fighting.
Jin was broke as fuck in Tekken 4. He was God tier. BR’s pretty darn balanced, which is part of the reason why it’s number 1 in the arcades in Japan.
If you want to play as a cheap-ass character, and you don’t care about playing good comp and improving, I suggest you play a different game.
You do know that they’ve had T6 since the beginning, and the local tourney level there is way way ahead of the western one, right? :wonder:
I chose to relearn Jin in T4 and there’s a cruel just frame juggle he can do: b,f+2<1<d+2 and juggle with a repeat. The way it works is you can charge the d+2, but you only charge until there are three or so sparks (it’s quick… less than half a second) and you let go. One combo takes about half of the life gauge so if you nail the juggle you can pretty much never let your opponent hit the ground. I remember when I did this to my brother (my arch rival) the very first time and he was sooooo burnt Man T4 was so unbalanced.
Jump to T5 and Jin is much more difficult to hold his own against opponents, especially Steve. I loved Devil Jin though, it was like TTT Jin but faster and with some mean juggles and counters! I HATE Jin’s parries, I’d rather block 85% of the time than use it. I don’t have much experience with DR though because I don’t have a PS3. What I have noticed aside from the new and altered move inputs are the variants in speed and strength on DJ and Jin. They slowed DJ and sped Jin up a tad and balanced out the damage rates for characters across the board.
I hope BR and the console version is at least the same level of balance as DR. I’m a little sad that with the new movement system a lot of the pick ups for DJ don’t connect any longer, but re-learning is a fun experience. I can’t wait for the console version so I can finally jump into the tourney scene. No arcade where I’m from is willing to fork out the cash to import a BR cabinet. Even the arcade my dogou met at for the original version of T5 is gone T_T and it was one of the better of the arcades in my city.
PS: Like T5 not all versions of T6 and T6BR cards are compatible with each other. I’m not sure whether you can use one card for both T6 and T6BR. I’m pretty sure once you upgrade your card you can’t go back… Here’s a post of NeoGAF about it http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326037 Also ask whoever uses them at your arcade and the arcade manager. They should know how it works.
missing the point
Wait are there no BR arcade machines cause the arcade i play in, theres a dude there who says he talked to the manager there & he’s getting BR machines in 2 weeks? O_o
There are, but they’re too expensive for most arcades, so the arcades rarely got new games and died off left and right. Arcade games became too expensive for the average arcade owner…something that seems to be slowly happening with ps3 and 360 software…games keep creeping up in price.
I actually realized that after reading it again.
Well I simply dont understand this post at all. Jin was broke in T4, that’s fine, as I said I didn’t enjoy playing as him in T4 I didn’t like the way he played, again i’m not a tourny guy for tekken so that didn’t impact my decision in liking him, I only played tekken because it was a blast but once 4 came out I no longer played I just didn’t enjoy it. As far as play as a cheap ass character, not caring about getting good comp and improving etc, That doesn’t make sense either, Are you saying jin is cheap in tekken 6 BR although you state it’s one of the most balanced games? I don’t know if you read my post at all. In any case, I don’t care about tournament wise tiers is what I stated, and I still feel that way, But as others have said tier doesn’t matter in tekken, as far as getting better etc i’m sure it’ll happen as i keep playing but im not playing with the mentality of I gotta be a tourny champ, i’m just going to play because the game looks like a lot of fun.
And thank you to QueenWasp for the info and I will try to ask the owner of the arcade, i’ll probably ask some people around the arcade too and see if they know more about the cards/specifics.
Lol BR Jin isn’t broke. Just better than DR Jin. But that can be universally said for just about everyone DR->BR.
I dont know of any really “cheap” characters in BR. Tekken “cheap” is a different kind of “cheap” than other games. Not really bad, except for T4 Jin, 5.0 Steve, etc. In this regard, i dont like Lars but it’s most likely really because we have a great player here playing him, plus I’m not familar with his moves and strings. BR Steve is what some people may call “cheap”. I mean, it’s Steve. Doing Steve shit. BR is pretty damn balanced imo, from what I heard, played, and witnessed. DR might still be the most balanced when it’s all said and done though.
Sorry Orphen, my bad. I read your first post wrong and thought “stopped” was “started” (it must have been late in the evening), which led to my catty response.
To clarify: no, Jin isn’t cheap in BR, thank God. Everyone’s decent. Steve is what I would call “strong”, but no way is he unbeatable.
Welcome! Lucky you though! I wish an arcade in my area would pick up T6BR, but all the arcades are pretty much closing up shop here. I’d have to drive to SoCal or NorCal to play and I don’t have the wheels or cash to do so…
Actually I’m kinda burnt because two months ago I was in Sunnyvale for the weekend and I didn’t know the golfland there had a machine. Guess I’ll just have to wait for console release.
MYK has just launched a brand new website for new/potential players of Tekken 6:BR. It will (hopefully) feature podcasts as well as well-written fundamentals and miscellaneous information.
A lot of matches of famous Korean players have recently been uploaded, and many of them are not using their main character(s). I have no idea whether they are testing the balance or learning the match-ups:

Can someone translate his mini-speech?
Edit
How could I forget that! It must have been for the tier-list(s).
