Shhhhhhhhh They might hear you!
brillant move by namco poor ps3
making a north american audience wait 2 years before we are able to play any version of t6 is more for a betrayal then announcing a multi console release could ever be…
Couldn’t care less about it coming to the 360, but Fall 2009? Jesus…
Yeah Namco dropped the ball on this. By later next year i could probably care two shits less about Tekken 6. Its enough that i go out of my way once a month to play SF IV in PA but at least the game is here in North America.
I’m too lazy to read/find out when the jpn release is, but for you guys that are starved for Tekken, wouldn’t you want to import the jpn ps3 version?
Seriously, by Fall 2009 SF4 will make me forget what Tekken IS.
As i said earlier, Namco isn’t think of you guys right now. They’re not thinking of the hardcore gamers who have been watching T6 vids since last november, tey’re thinking of all the scrubs who will pay money to play the game when they see all the cool EXTRA’S.
It’s part of the whole “Cater to the 5% hardcore, or the 95% casual”. Of course they’re gonna cater to the 95% casual, and try to get as much extra stuff as they can. Heck, i don’t want extras, i just want arcade mode and vs mode, but if they released a game with just that, compared to the extra stuff that’s been in every tekken game since Tekken 3, you think the current “casual” tekken players are gonna be happy? No way. They HAVE to add stupid things in that take a while. The reviewers would give it low scores if it didn’t have extras, and if it got high scores in all those crappy game magazines, then more people are gonna buy it.
So yeah, it is betrayal to the 5% of you guys who want it released earlier, but to the 95% of the other people who are gonna buy it when it comes out, it’s fine.
And besides, even if you feel betrayed, you’re probably gonna buy it anyways when it comes out. So them making the release date that late still won’t screw over their sales. If you boycott it, good for you, but most of us are gonna buy it anyways, especially the ones complaining the most, cause those are the ones caring the most.
I can’t believe this many people are fucking butt hurt about it going multi. It’s hysterical.
I was pretty cool with the idea of Tekken 6 until I saw it’s US release. Way to be fellas. EDIT: And this ins’t a “feeling of betrayal”, it’s a feeling of “Ok…that’s a long time.”
You guys do realize Namco didn’t make ANY real profit from America in regards to arcade, right? SO naturally, it’s logical to think multi-platform to make back that scratch here in America(especially here since it’s all console for the most part).
heartnana i think you are wrong on this one.
T6 has enough extras and items and crap as it is.
while we the hardcore may prefer the version with the tweaked gameplay (BR) the casuals just want tekken with updated graphics and T6.0 is enough for them.
BR is basically for us the hardcore, but waiting 2 years for it? nobody wants that, not us and not the casuals.
the sole reason the game is delayed is so that the arcade version in japan won’t suffer. that’s how its always been with tekken ever since DR.
Pfft, Stfu. Play some T6 before you sadden me like that again puto.
I dont mind it being on xbox, Just means more people at the T6 cab giving me gold. Just sucks that it has to be ANOTHER YEAR, Any news on jap release?
Nice on the 360 ver., but lol at the release of this game.
When it comes to facing nothing but noobs and scrubs during the first 2 months, Tekken is WAY more better than SC4.
SC4 is so retardedly easy to play, that a 7 year old can win by mashing buttons. The long reach easy stupidity moves makes it annoying online.
Tekken is easy to play, but mashing buttons will not help anybody win on that game since one combo landed on a scrub call destroy them, not to mention there isn’t any ringouts.
myself and a few others understand business and why Namco would choose to do this instead of releasing it sooner. I also understand that i dont have to like this “spit on your loyal customers and a whole continent” and take the money of the retarded sheep who buy anything style of business that Namco is using in this case.
as an aside, since i have no choice but to wait, I really just hope that they’re adding something worthwhile, like tag (infinite stage only would work just fine) or pc version, instead of just adding a few new pairs of pants
I bought the 360 when I did because I had a feeling when VF5 was ported to X360 with online play that it was a start of good things to come. And, it was.
I think we’re both in agreement?
BR means more items, more characters, more stages, etc. That’s what the casual gamers want.
NOBODY wants to wait that long though, thats the given, but the casual gamers are probably JUST happy to hear that its on 360 also. Theres prolly not very many people who bought a ps3 for the sake of Tekken 6 who are casual gamers, so they get this whole “more EVERYTHING” idea thrown in their head.
Shifty Nevers - I agree, it does feel like a slap in the face to say “december 08!” and then suddenly say “wait, now its JULY 09!”. But yeah seriously, its all about money. Even all these updates (and you KNOW theyre charging for BR) is just about money. Once they saw “wait, we can have practically the same game and charge an extra $1600 apiece for the upgrade, multiply that by the amount of machines arcade owners in Japan will buy, and THEN make even MORE money by releasing it on multiple consoles!” That became the standard for how to release a game. SOOO many major games nowadays are just getting a new patch. Arcana Heart, both 1 and 2, melty blood ac did it, VF did it, T5 did it, GG has been doing it since X. Sadly, its just the way things are going. Its crazy that a game has to be updated so often or its considered stale. What happened to the days when we could play the same game for years without an update, or with just a slight update?
It feels like theyre already planning the update from the time they release it. Kinda shady to me, but i feel the worst for the arcade owners who have to shell out all the money for a new cab, and then suddenly an upgrade comes, which costs even MORE…
to be honest i think its better that they completely avoid sf4’s release, and a lot of other fighters
Namco needs more money! I wouldn’t be surprised if they had some guest character on each system. I got an idea! Since Namco are gready ass bastards, why don’t they just put a Naruto Character in the game! The Orange hair dude to go for the PS3 and the pink hair chick to go on the Xbox 360 version. Sales would probably triple if they did that! Somebody should send them a letter about this.
It would start out like this:
“Dear Namco, you fucking greedy ass bastards…”
This man is right, I fucking LOVE how everything is spaced out and has it’s own time to shine all to it’s self for a bit.
HD Remix, Any week now.
KOF '98: UM, Jan '09?
SF IV, Feb '09
KOF XII, May '09
Tekken 6, Oct '09?
It’s beautiful that we are getting all this fresh shit in ‘09 and for everyone trippin’ about Tekken 6 on 30…it was only a matter of time, real talk the system just is not selling like it should.
I say that there might even be a chance for a Multi Disc MGS4 at this point.
