TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion Thread - PS3/XBOX 360 Oct. 27, PSP Nov. 3

I don’t have it yet. Yes, I am sour. Very sour.

And I always tend to forget that there was a two-year gap between when Tekken 6 was in arcades to this point, but that gap is sticking out quite heavily in my head right now, as the closest BR to me is 6 hours away, as is the case for most of the Tekken fans in this country that don’t live close to SVGL because of the lack of a US arcade release.

Two years. There are other dev teams for other publishers working on a yearly release schedule across all platforms to push out high quality games. It’s not like they’ve just had a handful of months to work on this game for console. And even then, that doesn’t excuse the PS3 getting shafted either since the arcade game was running on PS3 hardware. I fail to see how that is anyone’s fault but the dev. There are plenty of cross-platform games that, for whatever reason, are better on one console than the other. Why the VS customization issue? And, again, most of the glory time in the press and marketing is a Tekken Force mode that no one wanted. You cannot tell me that that mode didn’t eat up a lot of development time.

I’m mad because I’m a huge Tekken nerd that had to go over two years without having the newest Tekken to play at all. And now when it finally comes, it’s missing several things, including the most basic feature of a record mode.

I’m still very happy to be able to play my much-preferred fighting game after so long, and I’m happy enough that the game will get patched. But you cannot possibly expect people not to be just a tad pissed about how this game was handled.

Quit crying and get used to it.

What’s the word on the soundtrack getting released anytime in the foreseeable future?

this is all you need

As long as the game competitively is 99 percent the same as the arcade release that’s all I care about. All you guys hoping the features you’ll only use sitting at your house are all intact…whatever. I’m trying to compete in tournaments for this cuz SFIV is assey and I probably won’t be able to use custom costumes in tourneys any ways. KOFXII was a lot worse out of the gate than this game was.

It’ll be bootlegged by next week just like the SFIV soundtrack was. If you know where to go you’ll be able to find it ripped online.

real talk, the complaints i see about this are centered around NOTHING that has to do with the gameplay. Scenario Campaign, costumes, the freaking STORY for god’s sake, FOH with that. I played a few matches at my friends house and i’m excited because the game is actually FUN to play. I’m picking this up competitively and while i’m disappointed in no Record mode (which will be patched in) there are enough people in the 804 to practice stuff with.

In case anyone missed it…

Show archive is up from the TEKKEN 6 launch event!

Yo ren, you’re never on aim anymore.

Did you beat the nightmare train yet? The stage that unlocks after you beat tekken force.

thats pretty cold

But yeah T6 looks to be the fighter of the year for me

I mean, Namco could do nothing at all, but at least they’re gonna do something about the missing features

**

I’d say recording and having the right damage output in practice mode is pretty important.

But shit like HUD display and 2P customization isnt too high on my list

According to Kane, the damage IS correct. IIRC, the changes from 6 to BR was Namco basically making the lifebars X% more (I think it’s 180pts?), then beefed up standing hits by 20%, and kept the combo damage the same (first hit of juggle is 100% damage, so launcher at 120%,first hit 100%, then scaling kicks in), but they left all the throw damage untouched.

So the damage IS accurate to BR arcade’s damage - it’s just a different way of calculating it (tough luck for those who suck at math though - you’ll have to be calculating 120% x 12 pts out of 180 instead of what could have been a simple 8 pts out of 100.).

Yes, it is a cheap fix, but mathematically, it would have caused the least amount of errors between the console and the arcade version.

What is wrong with the hud?

Does anyone have the youtube link where the song is looped for about 30 minures?

Miguel is sooo fucking awesome :bgrin:…

apparently PS3 online is up

damnit Tuesday hurry up

i dont give a flying fuck about sf4, and never have. so fuck sf4 talk. yeah, i mean i dont think im going to make it to nec being in vegas with other shit poppin off right now, but if we dont rant about it, who will, and you quoting a post made before myk even made that post on zaibatsu at like 3am, which doesnt really give us anything other than it will be patched. great. so lets just think outside of ourselves for a bit. yeah, if i was in maryland i would be playing with rugal, dalaw, turk, ect…, and it would have just been trial and error shit, goin through the motions, and i might have been a little more chill about it, but thats me.

for any other person maybe getting fresh into tekken, or any other many different scenarios, record mode in practice mode is a necessity. yeah you can go to zaibatsu and read through pages upon pages, and watch hours upon hours of videos to see what top players are punishing with what, but the fact is, it should have been in there. taking a passive approach about this, and just being like, stop crying, dont post anything negative towards it, just play it until its fixed, is taking the power away from us, the community. we need this fixed, and asap. not when they might feel like it. we should be outraged. its our right to be, and even if i was in maryland, i dont live with these guys and all we do is play tekken, so i would definitely be irritated still by no record mode. custom outfits, whatever, but we all know what the biggest complaint was, and all the other shit just needed to be said, but lets just go your route and stop crying so they patch some shit, and maybe miss others.

gameplay wise i was talking to my boy, its straight, but if niggaz is trying to level up heavy before nec, which is a month away, unless they playing with each other every day, with a vast arrary of different characters, a lack of record mode could make a big difference in their placing. we thinking maybe 3-6 weeks, with 3 being the minimum here, but thats a maybe. no official announcement, but the namco squad knows. they knew when they didnt put it in there. record mode is a staple of tekken, so lets not act like this was an oops, yeah, that was new to tekken, we forgot.

practice mode with a record option is beyond frame punishing. its throw break training, learning how to walk certain strings or punish them properly. its a slew of things, and they do have defense training with options we havent seen before, but overall not really as useful as record mode. oh well, we still got a stupid ass story mode in our fighting game. yaaay. fuck all that bullshit. at this point, yeah, the post should change, and lets switch topic until we get an update on the issue, but aint nothing wrong with talking about the issue, and lets stop assuming everyone has massive tekken comp around them that they can use to TRY to substitute for lack of a solid record mode. i know for a fact record mode helped me get much better in my past tekken days coming up. but anyways, im done with the issue. i posted my shit already. oh one more, besides throw break training, i use to use practice mode just for reaction training too. just have my character do a mix of moves, and repeat trying to block certain lows on reaction. there is a lot of beneficial stuff people can do in record mode for a game that a VAST majority of the tekken community hasnt played, or only played its first incarnation before br. but you knew that already.

Yeah I can definitely understand your complaint but you’re talking to a guy who just came back from playing a bad game for 6 months so the fact that I get to play something better that a lot of people are going to play has me very greatful in of itself. Then I come on here and hear people complaining about things that didn’t keep top players from competing in the past and that shit borderline makes me mad. I don’t know whether or not SFIV will get fixed 6 months from now and it’s kinda lame to hear complaining about something THAT will be fixed long before that game ever is. You may feel I’m only looking at myself here but when I listen to your complaint it is OBVIOUS AS DAY that you are not looking at the whole picture either.

There are people switching to this game because the game they were previously playing seriously just isn’t quite the game it used to be and not in a good way and it’s funny to hear people complain about things that are pretty babyish in the grand scheme of things. Being good is about being around players that play good. Record mode from release or record mode that comes out 3 weeks later.

I guess it kinda helps that I have a brother to help practice punishing shit with in training mode until it gets fixed. Plus I’ll be playing a good bit with other players during sessions.

Is there anyway to preview something you may buy in the customize menu if you don’t have enough gold for it? Seems silly that you can’t.

defensive training helps out with breaking throws. just set the throws you want to react to and it’ll do them randomly.

punishing also isn’t hard to test. turn on hit analysis and the move you want to punish. if you see it blink from purple to clear, then its not a punish. if its solid purple throughout, then you punished correctly. i’ve checked it on a ton of moves, and if i’m ever in doubt, frame data easily quells any doubts i could have.

i’m not saying record mode wouldn’t be useful, because alot of stuff like cancels and bt gimmicks aren’t in the movelist, and it would be useful in alot of situations, but if record mode is going to be the breaking point for players, then those players weren’t going to be that good to begin with.

yeah, i know about the hit analysis. sorry, that slipped my mind. anyways, it doesnt matter. markman says there will be a patch in december i read. so moving on.

You say this like I’m complaining that Tekken Force not having Jack-4 in it or something. You also say this like only a bunch of console scrubs only asking for this.

http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=114003

There are LOTS of players are wanting this feature. Lots of things (combos, setups, gimmicks, etc) throughout all of Tekkens’ lifetimes have been found through testing, and that includes record mode. No one is gonna be playing among offline competition 100% of the time. In that time, people would like to be able to test things. There’s no way I’m not gonna buy the game because of the lack of record mode, but it still pisses me off.

I’m still pretty hyped about this game, but after waiting for so damned long, I want perfection. So you’re damned right I’m gonna whine and cry about this. Really, I’m like you and your disdain SFIV. Playing SFIV was like being in the wilderness for a few months. The Tekken homecoming was supposed to be glorious. Flawless. Unparalleled. But now, it’s only “awesome.” I wanted more than “awesome.” And I want a snow-cone.

Anyway, to counter my constant bitching, I am very happy that there’s a 2nd action functionality in practice. And I’ll live without record mode for a while.

Two. More. Fucking. Days
