not trying to justify namco on this one, but usually if a company is going to have a day 1 patch, they will have it as bare bones as possible so that they can be assured it will pass through format, which allows them to press disks.
the game being halfassed could very well be a product of that: get the barebones system out there so you at least have a full game, and patch in all the troublesome stuff later. all that really matters is that you will have the game in your hands, and are willing to sit through a patching process to get the rest.
this gives developers MONTHS of extra development time, and abuses a format system in a way that its best for devs and consumers. the only way it would suck for you is if you didn’t have an online connection…
Yea we were on T6 yesterday. Xbox 360 version. Was fun as hell except Xbox 360 pad sucks major dick. Buttons are responsive, but dpad is almost unplayable. Like…im really rethinking playing in any GStop tourney(probably Xbox 360 only) if I can’t count on getting FORWARD and BACK out consistently lol.
With that being said, my only complaint with the game(from playing like only two modes lol) is that when you press Rematch after a match, it doesn’t change the arena. That would’ve been cool. Also think main menu should’ve been like…a menu background like old games. Instead of having to choose the character and who’s standing in a stance on the background in a stage you chose. Also, appealing to much to the online crowd that you have to go under OFFLINE MODES tab just to select Arcade, Versus, Practice, etc. And in practice mode, they now show you Sample Combos(staples and such). Where’s the work and research? Easy mode for noobs. And the tips that scroll across the screen before vs matches are pretty, “ok yea, DUH”. Other than that, game is legit. And Forest Law is the one who crashes the truck on Rustic Asia stage. Never saw or noticed if he was in Arcade version or not.
Shit needs to be patched.
-No replay option in Practice as mentioned.
-HUDs are getting annoying at the bottom, seriously (lifebars meh IMO, but people hate them too)
-2P profile 4TL. Literally. What’s the point of having your win/loss affected offline in Vs. if only 1P can get docked?!?!

Fast easy way to get gold/unlockable items:
In tekken force mode, play all the way up until you get to the helipad stage where you fight Anna and Kazyua and basically play that stage over and over ad nauseum. If you have the money multipliers and item drop increases you’ll net about 700,000 - 600,000 gold each play through, and a quite a few items each time.
If you play past this stage until you meet up with raven, you will not be able to go back until you finish tekken force mode. So if you don’t care about the story (which isn’t that good anyways) and just want to unlock stuff/stack gold, then grind out this stage once you get to it.

K some stuff to look out for:
When you first start the helipad stage, you’ll be looking at Anna in a far corner of the helipad, keep track of that corner because the alien with the gold/items comes out of that corner once kazuya and his goons drop from the helicopter later on. Once you see the helicopter start circling over the helipad, run to that corner and just wait till you see the white alien jump out. Also, save the pipe and/or machine gun in the middle of the helipad for the kazuya fight.
Another thing is to make sure that along with your item increases/gold increases you have some sort of power up too, like extra attack power or elemental power. It makes the fights a lot easier, and you won’t end up dying. to maximize the amount of gold you obtain, make sure that the person with the highest gold increase percentage picks up the gold. So for example right now i’m using Anna, and her percentage is 300% while Alisa is 365%. After clearning out the enemies, i make sure that Alisa picks up the gold so that i get a higher return. And basically that’s it.
Hope this helps once the game officially drops, so people don’t spend their time trying to find the best way to grind.

Maybe. But what they should’ve done is the SFIV thing and did NO ALTERNATE MODES AT ALL. This is a fighting game. Period. Cater to the people that have been playing or might want to play a fighting game. A tutorial mode. A Challenge mode. More focus on online modes.
