I believe so, i played T5:Online extensively on the PS3 and made Lili my main. I saw the T6 arcade in central London and had a go. Lili felt identical and pulled off all her moved without problems as if i was playing it for ages. In fact the grachics did seem like a huge leap either, T5:Online is very good
You know what. Fuck you guys, the more I read the more hype I am about playing T6… which isn’t good because I have a small amount of time for the games I own as is!
Argh… at least its months away. Now to just resist buying T5 for the 360 in anticipation…
I watched this one Steve, Bohui(I think that’s the players handle), shit was so methodical he was like surgeon with some of those hits. I noticed he would go into that stance from Steve’s shoulder, and it put him in a good position to get a 3 choice mixup when the shoulder connected. He chose the quick low poke most of the time, to try and butter the guy up.
From what I see of BR, the game seems more on fundamental technical knowledge more than what I’ve seen of previous Tekken’s that had more shenanigan exploits and engine abuse taking the forefront. Maybe it’s cause I just keep watching korea play of BR.
Only Practice, is an inspiring Nina too. I’m torn between Steve or Nina, I like how they both can bring Tekken to you on a solid technical level, I like characters like that that have solid foundation but can hit you with a ton of stylish advanced things. I’m the type to just pick one main though and stick with them throughout, so me choosing which one out of these two, might come down to some silly shit like custom items.
I play T5DR sometimes on my ps3 as an appetizer, and before I was all about Nina coming off of VF Sarah, but I’m looking at using Steve as main alot more these days.
I’m still trying to understand Tekken’s core guessing game though, with the unseeable low pokes to force low parry and float the low parry and df+1 the low parry attempts and such stuff.
Also breaking throws for me is tough cause I have trouble seeing what hand is further out than the other cause it often times doesn’t look different to me. I have an easier time breaking the throws on reaction based on how they actually start up once grabbed, no lie.
Question: Guys any of you attended Evo2009? If so and had the chance to test the 360 version of T6BR… how was it? Any noticeable difference from the PS3 build? I know lots of test have to be done on the final versions but just to have a glimpse. Thx!
Oh well color me embarassed. Honestly I never really got into 3d fighters all that much, mainly because back when I played them I didn’t give a shit about fighters in general. Hoping to change that with T6
that the rage/wall-floor break had slowdown on the arcade and ps3 ver.; the xbox ver. didn’t due to a different archetype engine. who knows, there is plenty of time between here and release. hopefully they can get that slow down worked out!
as for steve, i used to have mad hate for him. just for the fact i would see tons of people used him like a bitch! now… i think he looks good, and in the right hands he is a god! i might go to the darkside and main him with lili and bob!
The arcade truly does slow down when the floor breaks. But when you’re playing the game, you don’t see it as slow down. More of a slight slow motion point in the fight, telling your brain: “the floor’s gone, think fast.”
So it would be a little odd seeing the Xbox a bit faster. But I guess that would only help 360 owners (faster reactions).
I played extensively on both 360 and PS3 versions.
They are BOTH good, the 360 one ran just as good if not better than the PS3 one. I noticed slowdown during rage effect/floor break on the PS3 version, but never noticed the same thing on 360.
What did Namco give out at EVO in terms of freebies? During the stream I could swear I heard the announcers say Namco was giving out something but I didn’t catch what it was.
IIRC, Rip (winner) won a PS3, x360, plus copies of the game. Not sure what everyone else got.
Menthol: I doubt it’ll disappear tbh. Regardless, it really isn’t a big deal. It’s not like you can move your character around while you’re falling anyway.
