my bad I always forget about kof and snk games when considering 2d…
wouldn’t be so bad if they had better character designs…

Ummm… Koreans don’t like FPS games? so then Korea beating SK.swe (once NiP and now again is NiP) (arguably the world’s best CS team) at WCG 2004 is a fluke?
please research before making boldface lies about my people!
t(’'t)
What? no way!!! I didn’t follow up on WCG 2k4…But Korea beat Team SK??? OMG that’s serious stuff…TeamSK getting beat now that’s a surprise.
I mean I still know Starcraft is still the NFL of korea, but I guess they’ve been really getting it together for CS.
My applause to my people in my Home Country, for doing so well in CS and actually beating the godly TEAM SK.
Hey Jin. do they have the 2k4 vids up at WCG.com???
Jin, you said ur korean too? Then you should also know Koreans actually prefer Rainbow Six series alot more than CS tho.
Laugh my a** off!!! hahaha They had Pangya at WCG2k4??? Hahaha I play that on my comp. LOL…And why’d they have that at WCG2k4 when it’s a korean online golf game???
I think there should be a 4 way team battle, between USA,JPN,UK and Korea at EVO 2k5! Cause honestly…I think america is 2nd to Korea in tekken, then Uk then JPN =P

As far as I can tell, this is the only real arcade scene we have left, but we are really taking advantage of it.
fucking korea is going to take that shit
I hear Phoenix > rest of the U.S… That true?
In their minds…sure.
yeah, the last time i checked MaDDoGJiN was Korean…
anyways, i think korea will win
Winning once can be considered a fluke. Besides, it was for 3rd place. A Korean team has never won a big CS tourney as far as I know. Their FPS scene is far overshadowed by their SC scene. Obviously you can’t say nobody in Korea likes FPS games, but for the most part they play SC and fighting games.
koreans are taking over dis shit. Imma try to rep top 8 for a 3rd straight year in MvC2 and as for T5 as long as some koreans come down you’ll see them mobbin. koreans in korea dont play much FPS games compared to other games. koreans in the US play alot more FPS games than the ones back in the homeland. and I gotta agree with MuGenGaia. in Korea there is atleast one arcade on each block. in every one of those arcades are players that range from 7 year olds to 30 and over business men. from my own experience the skill level alwyas ranges from average to awesome. Ive lost to little kids with wife beaters on and Im a damn decent Tekken player. Ive never played a bad Tekken player during all my summers I was there (I go every summer). and as MuGen pointed out, there are countless players that are just as good as if not surpass the “top” or “best” players we know about but they just dont travel or care enough to polish their names. I remember playing this one random ass dood somewhere in Seoul (forgot the city). this guy was fawking genius at that game. Ive played against top players here, and this guy did shit I never saw or imagined before with Heiachi. prolly couldve got top 3 if he went to EVO lol. but jeah, arcades are a social gathering in Korea Japan and even Hong Kong I hear. I know this because I was born and raised in Seoul until I was 10 and all my memories of those 10 years are in the arcade.
Dang Soo, even when you were just 1 year old, you were already in the arcades?? DANG!!!
JP
I remember playing Tetris in the womb.
are japanese tekken players even coming to evo?
The conclusion i came up with is that if you dont have a asain face your health bar starts at 50% Hopefully i can change that
JOP is atleast #3 in the US (prolly more like #2) and he is a white dood. Jinkid won T4 at EVO last year and he was white too.
Man, I’m Asian but I keep losing to white people at Starcraft and Tekken. Is there something wrong with me? T_T
Question:
why did Tekken, as opposed to any other fighting game, become so popular in Korea? It’s not like the Blizzard games which were the first good, major, mainstream games that came with a comprehensive online matching/ranking system. Why not, say, SF (well, these days SF hasn’t had anything new and good for years) or VF? Why Tekken?
VF was very popular in Korea the last time I was there. they televised tournaments on TV for it. KOF is very big over there too. but for some reason they arent into Capcom games.
