Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Part 2!

DR 5-on-5 at T7:

The D-pad on the PSP sucks orangutan balls!!!

I use stick and I can use the D-pad on the PS2, but the PSP pad is bad, its hard to push diagonals.

But overall, I think TDR is one awesome game, I couldn’t believe how good of a port they did on this game, they even added minigames and story movies:tup:

If it had online play then it will be a dream come true, but knowing Namco, they will never have online play for their fighters, even Tekken 6 will not have online play.

I still wish the D-pad didn’t suck so much!

to me, the d-pad feels okay. but i did the internal mod few months back when zero 3 came out so maybe that’s why.

but according to my friend, he says he can do about 90% of lee’s bread and butter stuff so that’s not that bad.

I still don’t get why people are gettin butt hurt about no online play. I guarantee if Namco did do online thats just one more thing for Itagaki to bitch about with his hatred toward the Tekken series. And u know with this bein Namco’s first time tryin it out, it won’t be perfect. I still feel the series ain’t ready for online yet.

A lot of us, despite the distance between us, will not accept the BS factors that lag introduces. It sucks, but even some of my local Japanese Tekken players say the same shit.

didnt anyonee get the stick-on Dpad when they bought DR? when I got home I tried playing the game without it and then with it. now that Ive checked for differences I think the stick-on makes moves around 30% easier.

I thought I could play this damn thing online using Kai but I cant figure out how this shit works:sad:

Actually, I’ve found that the D-pad works quite well with DR, whereas in DS and A3, the D-pad is simply horrendous. DS is nearly unplayable because many commands simply will not come out on that craptastic D-pad. It’s the diagonals that are the biggest issue.

In any case, the control seems to be great in DR, and I was very impressed by the visuals.

As for the online play, I say forget about it. Sega has stated that VF5 will not have online play because the lag creates an issue with imputting commands that need to be entered within a few frames. They stated that it would essentially take all the precision out of the game, so they won’t do it.
I suspect that’s why DR does not have online play either.
I say don’t get your hopes up. Even if it did have online play, chances are it would play like ass, and we’d be bitching anyways.
At least the game has ad-hoc support, and you don’t have to worry about excessive lag.

And if you believe that BS I got some magic beans to sell you too.

i dont know about you guys… but the only character i can play on those things is kazuya… and i can electric and dash punch like a mofo on those things. Reg. pad too… no stick on stuff. I dont get it

I got my d-pad with it since I had it pre-ordered on GameStop. I’m loving it so far, got my Steve up to the last Dojo with the Fujin rank. The ghosts were awesome until that very dojo, where they act more like bots that can block all your lows and escape all your throws. Oh well. Still awesome game. Anyways, any of you guys tried bringing this to an arcade yet? I did, and 3 people showed up in the lobby. I looked around to find people with PSPs, and I only saw one dude, which wasn’t the one that challenged me. It was fun playing ad-hoc while waiting for your turn though.

Are you talking about this one

Or is it something else?

I can get that product for really cheap from work, I want to know if it helps a lot because I have trouble pushing diagonals on that PSP D-Pad!

no its a little d-pad that you stick on, how are grips supposed to help making dioganals?

yeah it helps just make sure you stick it right the first time once its on its not going anywhere.

the little stick on looks like something you would find on ghetto 3rd party playstation controllers… but it does the trick for the most part.

I need that pad nub. Hitting diagonals with this dpad is the worst. I can’t even do Steve’s :db: +3

Im not alone on that whole “hard as hell to do diagonals” on that d-pad!!!

Then the coalition has started. First we begin with the beheading of SK and then slowly take over SRK.

Is the nub that you guys mention the same as the SFA3 Max nub that sticks on ETERNALLY?

This is pretty good alternative for those that can’t get hold of the Namco Dpad

Also if you have a NES cart sleve laying around you could try this mod, alot people approve of it

Yep. That’s it.

For some reason, on Tekken Zaibatsu, one of the threads is a petition to put DR on PS2. Most online petitions never work, though, so this doesn’t really matter. It would probably piss off tons of PSP owners if it were to happen, though.

It really depends though. If the sales aren’t cutting it for Sony and/or Namco, then yeah, its more than possible for a PS2 port.

I for one am ready for such a thing. So, it really wouldn’t piss me off they did release it on the PS2. I’ll just have one to play sitting down the normal way and one to practice on when I’m on the crapper. Its a win/win situation for me.
