Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Part 2!

Aking’s Dark Upper is a poor man’s WGF, and in general Aking gets punished waaaay too much for his own good. Which is why I dropped him and just went back to Duk while trying to learn a Mishima. --;

If your opponent doesn’t duck things on reaction, then buffering Giant Swing after ANYTHING is AKing’s primary plan. You should know this firsthand. =p It also helps if they don’t instinctively break left throws all the time(most people break right). Being able to GS out of any and everything is a great help too(crouch dash/wavedash, dashing, running, SS/SW, crouch cancelled b+2, from b+1+2, buffered off random pokes, etc).

AKing’s real problem is a lack of good launchers(normal DU is pretty fucking weak, and the only other attack that always launches is uf+4, which is really shitty for him) and an abundance of - frames on all his good shit. In the end you’re stuck buffering GS and DDT after random hits, and occasionally hoping they freeze up against certain things so you can get some damage. iSW is just as good as King’s tho, so once you learn that add that to the buffering mixups, and ABUSE HIS FICKING MIDS. Make them want to keep standing. Delay df+2 occasionally to catch sidesteppers who step after you toss some jabs at them. db+4 is a slightly better whiff punisher IMO, Shoulder should really be for when you need that wall juice, or if they’re stupid enough to start ducking buffered throw strings.

And Zaibatsu IMO is the best place to get info on vids, since the guys there monitor all the other sites. Just make sure to filter out the usual TZ BS.

There are several sites that are linked from Light Dash. I’m not exactly sure but I think Bamsaem.com updates. Or maybe it’s Imoyoukan…Either way I swear I saw some recent shit from one of those sites.

I don’t think dark upper is mid. It’d be sexy if it was! How bad is it on block? -10? King>AKing
King has really bad tracking problems to his left iirc.

There’s 2 “hidden” moves AKing can do after a Charge Up, one is the Mid DU that staggers on block, the other is the fire breath from his 10-hit.

for all that don’t know, japanese players consider qudans ( a korean DJ player) the best in the world. Even though korea lost at SBO.

knee + qudans>nin +leedy/holeman i forgot> the rest

japan’s opinion on korean players.

And korean players think Mainstreet Ryu (heihachi, anna) and Taizo (feng) are the best japanese players.

Qudans beat shou (japanese devil jin whose team won sbo4) 10:1 after tourney and demoted a lot of other japanese tekken players.

all is still right in the world of tekken

Damn. The Japanese still came and rushed shit down at SBO4 tho. Also I really don’t know who some of these players are. Is there a site with player profiles?

Is that even practical? I’d get launched out if I tried to charge up. There are set-ups for it I’d assume?

I finally got the Heihachi combo I’ve been working on to come out 100% of the time… WGF, 1, hellsweeps into thunder GF… still working on Heihachi. Does so much damage for such a simple combo, I just had to practice the hellsweep motion for a little bit and now I do that shit everytime I launch an opponent. Is there any better juggles besides that? I know I can tack on stuff after the thunder GF hits sometimes, but anything worth learning with Heihachi?

Filthyrich combos

You should watch the vids from mayn event. Honkey #1 has a really interesting Heihachi. It’s all lock down strats. His buffering is very good. He has the best Heihachi I have seen in DR. The best one in 5.0 I’ve seen is Antonio though. He had a good shot of winning nationals last year if they didn’t ban heihachi. I don’t know what was up with that.

I can’t really help u with Heihachi juggles, I usually do EWGF, EWGF, f+1,b+2,1 or EWGF, EWGF_d/f+2, d/f+1,1, b,f+2,1

Anyway sounds like what you are doing ok is good already, just replace the second hit with d/f+1 instead

There’s setups, but they’re gimmicky. Much like Aking as a character. =p

King>Aking

Kings’s iSW gives great oki, Aking’s is stupid. He throws himself to the ground which allows for no real follow-ups. We do have a hella solid AK player here in socal though.-_-

My city lacks a Aking player. Only people trying to learn him. He seemed ok. But other characters in dr just have way more better stuff then him./

The game is still kinda of random to me. I cant seem to deter myself from Tekken tho…lol

d/f+1? I’m not able to practice on the console right now, but does it do more damage? I normally use d/f+1,1 to poke and if I see the d/f+1 hit I try and launch with d/f+1,2 and combo from there. 1,1,2 is another hit confirmable combo I’ve been using. Mixing it up with throws here and there. Hammerfist is my friend, SK mentioned that and in DR that shit is too good. How useful are his new moves? Worth learning/using?

d/f+1 is like 3 pts more dmg so in the combo it’ll be like 1 or 2 more.

I don’t play heihachi so I can’t give u tips.

After ECC I’ll be going to CF every weekend so I’d very much like to get back into this game.

How’s Lili fairing amongst everyone this far down the road?

Does Asuka have anything new?

Same old combos / new normals / whatever?

;p

People actually going to ecc? Since its 5.0 not many are showing up but i might.

Anyway asuka seems a bit better. not by much though. but shees ok/ Im not a asuka player so i can’t tell ya much.

Oh, noone’s going to ECC for Tekken mind you, there was some ugliness courtesy of Jinmaster (he’s holding a DR tournament that weekend), I mean in terms of after ECC all together, not simply for Tekken.

;p
