Tekken 4/5 Advanced Basics: Where Do I Start?

For Kaz can you use the mist step motion and do f,n,D/F+2 to do the EWGF?

I only just actually read the title for this thread…

ADVANCED BASICS!

Yes you can, when you do god fist the normal way you have to remember you more or less have to press 2 at the same time as you D/F, that’s the best advice i can give i actually find it easier to EWGF using the normal method rather than using the mist step method, i can pretty much nail it 90% in t4 i hear it’s even eaiser in t5 so keep on trying it’s just a matter of getting use to it

ROFL

Tekken 5

Devil Jin EWGF - 3 frames input
Heihachi EWGF - 2 frames input
Jin EWHF - 3 frames input
Kazuya EWGF - 3 frames input

sure its 7 frames. If it was 7 frames then jabs would beat it for free. ROFL.

if u do that then most likely you are getting WGF.

Think of doing Ryu’s shoryuu-ken. It has to be a fast input.

It has been annoying me that I cannot get it. Although my tekken skills are out of practice. I can get it about 20-30% of the time and it seems like I am doing the same motion. I will practice nailing the D/F 2 at the same time. Maybe thats what it is. Cause I sure am doing the motion fast as hell.

you have to hold the D/F and do it faster

Oh and how many inputs can the game register in 1 frame?

What’s the difference between Law’s Back+1+2 parry and Back+2+3 parry? What’s gauranteed after Back+1+2 parry? What’s gauranteed after Back+2+3 parry? Thx.

I’m adapting pretty fast to t5. Been playing for like an hour now at home. :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :nunchuck: :nunchuck:

i tried to write a basic FAQ:

http://www.kainzero.com/pictures/tekken.txt

i never got around to finishing or editing it though, and it’s probably not very useful anyway.

regarding EWGF:
the timing for EWGF is dependent on when you press d/f in the (f, N, d,d/f or f,N,d/f). you have to press it nearly exactly when you hit d/f, and iori666 posted the list of the frames allowed. it doesn’t matter how fast you do it, but how precise your timing is.

i find it much, much easier to perform on a stick than a pad… although i have trouble starting the f, N, d, d/f motion on stick, i perform the EWGF more than the WGF.

One. Keep that in mind when calcuating the actual frames it takes a move to come out, of course.

who’re you using? i’m not training yet, although i spent a few minutes in training mode. i’m trying to get everybody first before i start training…

I have all of the characters already, including “Hihachi Mishima”. I’ll proceed on with the rest of my trainig now. Demon Hyo is crossing over to Tekken 5. :china:

The arcade history mode is very cool. Namco did an excellent job on this game 100%. Everything about this version is just way better than the arcade. The music is mad hot, and the movies are very good. The law one cracked me up. Poor Paul…

yeah, i’ve got everyone except devil jin. i’m going through the BORING, REPETITIVE, TEDIOUS devil within game to get him. i’m on 2-3. there are 4 stages with 5 sections each, huh? after i get to the next save point, i’ma quit for now and just practice with bryan fury or whoever.

devil within is making me real sleepy. zzzzzz.

and yeah, the game is nice but:

  1. wish there were more stages(in the future, a stage a character should be standard)
  2. wish there were console exclusive characters

I’m adapting to t5 too, just by watching a video my bryan has gotten worlds better. hes a beast :p.

Quick question: Is it true you can EWGF off of the f, df motion now with Kazuya? I remember not being able to do it like that in T4.

just randomly posting this here. i do not play Tekken, but last night i saw some dude playing T5 and he was fighting Cammy from SF. was i hallucinating? i watched him play for a few minutes and sure enough it looked like Cammy and even had her name in yellow. any how just wondering if that’s true or if i was just having a flashback. take care.

Hehe, it was all easy for me. You’ll get it sooner or later. But, yeah I wish there were more stages as well. These are good stages though.

true. right now i’m doing the 200 matches thing. i’m like 150 matches away from getting him. its WAY the hell more fun than devil within.

and yeah, devil within is easy but too tedious.

Yeah, it is. Man, Hehachi is too cheap. His stun priority is very good and his strength adds onto that. He also has good mixups, but if you abuse it the person might catch on.
