Finally getting the hang of it, this thread was really helpful. My timing has been tap forward (kinda like a parry), plink the 3 punches, downforward. Still a long way to go though.

Got maybe 3% Electrics out raw in a span of perhaps… few hundred attempts?
Why is normal canceling into it easier to pull off? Because I got those quite often.
^Iwas having the same problem, however I worked at getting a EWGF from crouching and standing normals 1st, then worked on the raw.
Hm, would it help if I made a video of me applying the technique from the first post to perform the EWGF?
I dont think its even possible on Hitbox I have been trying for 3 hours straight without being able to get even 1 down if you put the attack date input display on you can notice that it always register Things that doesnt even make sence Like even if you hit your MP or HP wayyyy erly it still records it to late or it records it even out of the combo but still comes out and for some reason when You Plink with LK on hitbox The spinning demon always comes out no matter when you did it
Maybe if i update the fireware of my board it could be possible o_O?
anywho let me know if you find a way to do it on Hitbox i have the same problem =/
I was just able to do it by Plinking the 3 punches =O ON hitbox still gosh this is hard on hitbox O_O i can do it 4/10 on pad but 1/9000+ on hitbox

ok i’m not going to read through 47 posts of this, but i’ll leave my 2 cents.
i can’t do the ewgf naked with any consistency whatsoever.
however, i can get it after a standing fierce with about 75% accuracy. both sides of the screen.
the way i do it is just to plink mp and hp on both the st.hp and the ewgf…and it seems like i get ewgf a hell of a lot more than i get ex wgf.
so far i can consistently do j.hk, st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf, sweep. 438 hp, no meter. i’m pretty happy with that, but i want to be able to do the st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf x2, cr.hp, ewgf x2 (at least i think that’s the max combo anyways).
so yea, hope that input tip helps someone that’s having trouble. i kinda gave up trying to get this down, seeing i was having no luck whatsoever. then stumbled across this yesterday by accident in training mode…and it’s still working really well for me today.
so plink m.p and L.k? or plink H.p and m.p?

I plink lp+mp, but anything works really. mp+hp, mp+lk or lp+mp+hp all work, it’s a matter of personal preference.
Its so weird double plinking early. Doing late gives me EX, but doing right gives EWGF! Thanks for the tips.
The update is mainly there to show that there are multiple methods to perform the EWGF in a more consistent manner - there is not a sole technique to doing this.
Alright I play on the ps3 analog and I get ewgf randomly. My execution is fine I can do one frame links with raven. I just picked up Kazuya and I cant seem to get ewgf consistently.
Yeah, after trying both methods I’m finding the H.p and M.p method more consistent even though I may get an ex from time to time

I would after the last wave dash, put my stick to neutral. Then perform the EWGF as if I didn’t wave dash in the first place. That’s what gave me the best results.
Im doing it w/o plinking in order to get used to the timming, but once I start trainning with the plinks I will be doing it with MP and LK, when you use MP/HP you get a lot of ex moves and if you do a double plink with LP, you risk yourself to do that kazuya’s shoryuken whose name I cant remember right now.
nevermind about the lk/mp link, if you miss the time the mist step with low kick will come out(during mist step the kicks have priority over the punchs when pressed at the same time), you better keep doing with MP/HP and wasting some meter whenever you miss it.

After getting frustrated 10000 times I’ve found a way to do EWGF on hitbox 100% of the time ( raw or in combo ) FROM LEFT TO RIGHT - however I still cant do it at all from right to left and I’ll explain why…
For explanation -
L- Left Hand
R- Right Hand
IF- Index finger
MF-Middle Finger
RF-Ring Finger
PF-Pinky =D
F(R-IF) Neutral D(L-MF) (hold down) F(R-IF)+MP (R-RF) … Tell me if this makes sense lol… pretty much since i thought "Ok somehow I cant time my 2 hands at the same time ( which is bullshit i was doing it right but it just wasnt working lolol ) I thought … why not use 1 hand for “DF” and “MP”… so i started doing that… but thats also why I cant do it from right to left… the Left directional button ( which would be forward ) is obviously too far away
