Anyone mind tossing me some advice on the final level? Can’t get past this area with a bunch of pillars that raise and fall automatically. Geez I feel like a dumb ass.

Portal is amazing and maybe one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had in a year. It’s short and sweet, artistically amazing, and overflowing with character. They did a great job of turning the portal gun into a full game with story and character. Portal alone is worth 40-45$ and only falls short on length. It fits in perfectly as a side title to the other games for economics, but for experience, it overshines the other titles in many ways. TF2 is worth about 30-40$ Another title full of character and polish. I havent even begun on EP2, but I will be amazed if it surpasses portal, and that says a lot because I think HL2 and EP1 were amazing.
Just beat Portal. WOW. LOVED it. Great, ending/credits, haha. Now, for some more intimate time with TF2.

TF2 is amazing.
TF2 doesn’t run very well on my PC… I thought I could run it a little smoother:
AMD x2 3800+ (dualcore)
Geforce 7600 GT
1.5 gig ram
I’m thinking the bottleneck is the x2, if the source engine doesn’t harness dualcore processors?

Portal was funny cause I"m pretty sure I beat a few of the levels by not doing what they were expecting
cause there were a few times where there obstacles I was supposed activate and stuff and I just ignored them and used momentum tricks to cruise by… Game was really easy though I hear the challenges are wayyyy tougher Im gonna get a gold on all of them!

I haven’t finished Portal yet because I made the mistake of starting Episode 2.
OMG that game. I love how they cleverly infused Outrun into the game. And the puzzles are so cute. So far it’s better than HL2 and Episode One. This is a game that Valve is sure that they know exactly what they are doing with the game that they have designed. A game aware of itself.
Plus it’s like the entire Half-Life series taken into an exciting new direction.
I’m declaring it now: Episode Three may be game of the year when it comes out all fucking over.
EDIT: Beat Portal. Man you guys weren’t kidding about the ending theme, the ending in general, the ‘last boss’. Everything after the 14th puzzle was top tier. And what was so great about the game is that it felt kinda like the old Half-Life when you weren’t killing things. Ya know, all the platforming sections. Really impressive work.

I really fucking hope that woman just fainted from surviving that place. She, like Alan Shepard from Opposing Force, need to come back into the Half-Life universe. I actually kept expecting aliens or walking robot to pop out after puzzle 19. I was so freaking paranoid. Oh and where are all the damn bodies?
Dumb question. Can PC players of TF2 play against Xbox 360 players?

Nope, and if Shoadowrun was any indication, I’d rather it stay that way, lest us Pc users get neutered to let the XBL join in. No thanks. There is one thing about the PC version that has me sad: We don’t have, as of yet, the upgraded versions of HL2 and Eos1 that 360 users got, and after playing Eps2, I’d LOVE to have it. Wonder if they’ll ever upgrade the PC versions.
