TE Fightstick Button Issues?

I got my TE stick a couple of days ago. I have been having this same issue. I switched configurations a few times to see if that would help but it still happens.

This issue happens to me as well, but it’s not frequent. Occasionally the RT and LT buttons will stop responding completely, and the the turbo panel will not respond except for the Xbox Guide button. As other people have mentioned, the only solution I have found is to unplug and replug the controller. This is on a Standard Edition Fight stick.

I know it’s not the buttons because I have already swapped them out with Sanwa parts. Sounds to me like a PCB issue.

I am having similar issues as well. When I press my X button it responds as both X and B. This is my second player stick, which doesn’t get as much use so I will probably end up swapping out the LT/LB wiring if it doesn’t resolve itself.

Same prob here as well on my Ps3 T.E, ill try unpluggin/re-pluggin it. Kinda sad when you pay $150.00 for something that has such a trivial problem.

I can actually hold down those buttons for turbo as well, even if the turbo is off. I would return it, but I’ve already opened it up. Swapping the wiring at least made it usable for me, but now I need to remap the buttons repeatedly if I have guests.

Man after reading threads like these, it makes me want to not order a TE stick or an SE stick. I might just go with Hori for a stick…

Used my 360 TE for about 40 mins, RT and LT randomly stop working.

Shit isn’t even a week old. Good stuff!

I had the same issue with my TE not too long ago. It was all good for a while. Some time after I dual-modded it with the cthulhu, my RH stopped working and it would randomly work and not work. When I opened my stick and re-pressed the wires button wires on the terminal, and since then I haven’t had a problem with it.

Now recently, my buddy had the same issue with his TE stick after he dual-modded it. As mentioned earlier by someone else, it works perfectly when it’s hooked up to the PS3, but when played on the 360, the button dies out. It only works for a few seconds after you unplug it and plug it back in. And now sometimes when you plug it in for the first time, the stick doesn’t even register on the 360 and you have to unplug it and plug it in again for it to turn on. So we’re trying to sort out the problem now.

One thing I do think is happening. The buttons wire terminals are not very well placed. What happens is that when you screw down the top panel, it pushes down and squishes the terminals that are right underneath it because they’re too tall. One of the contacts plugs on the terminals of my stick already broke from being bent. Luckily it was the last 2 buttons which aren’t used anyway, but none the less, I think it’s playing a part.

Its been a known issue with the 360 TE, Just swap out the RT wire to the LB wire and remap the button configuration in the game option mode.

Configuration) RT = no function LB = heavy kick

when i was watching Shinjn’s Youtube videos i noticed that there is no ferrite ring on the USB cable inside the case… when i opened mine, there is an inch wide ferrite ring on the USB cable… does everyone having this random problem have a ferrite ring on the USB cable…? since someone suggested that this problem is sometimes cured by unwinding the USB cable out of the back compartment completely, i was thinking if maybe this is Madcatz’s way to fix the problem…

Nope, tried that already the RT still goes out, its been a known issue with the 360 TE. Just swap out the RT wire to the LB wire and remap the button configuration in the game option mode.

Configuration) RT = no function LB = heavy kick

Hmm, I havent experienced this yet, mine was ordered from the June stock that capcom put up end of month last month.

But it worries me nonetheless. I was hoping my PS3 and 360 would provide years of light use on mame and consoles without failure worries.

happend just once now … rt and lt stoped working and i needed to replug it … pc use
hope this wont happen this often …
bought mine in march …

I’ve been getting the RH button problem more often lately (re-plug of course “solves” it). However, a few times during play, I would be constantly crouching in addition to the RH issue.

Hopefully, all this information can eventually get some type of answer to this random glitch.

urg i guess i have this issue too /w my 360 TE stick - bought July 2009 from amazon.co.uk

RB ‘fierce punch’ just stops responding. happened within 30 mins. then got it to re-occur 3 times in 5 mins of just fireballs. I’ve only just got my TE :frowning:

im gonna try the replugging USB and turbo thing…

That’s ridiculous. Can you elaborate on how you got it to reoccur over and over?

just by going into training mode, turning on ‘show inputs’ and practicing combos. The button practically doesnt work any more. It cuts out more often than the 1st day i got it (2 days ago) I would say i’ve played 6-8 hours on it total.

when it cuts out, i either have to massage it back into play or tap it several times firmly. The replacement from amazon arrives wednesday so hopefully that one will be perfect.

/edit yeah it is ridiculous especially after paying A LOT of money. And i guess i could re-wire it but when i’ve paid for it i want it all to work, regardless of whether or not i use that feature / button. Plus i think if 1 button is dodgy it increases the risk that another button is also dodgy.

I got my stick and ran into the same RT/LT not functioning issue while testing it on my PC with SF4 (resolved after replugging the USB) after about 30 minutes of play. I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem. I’ve had my stick plugged in all day and mashed RT/LT for about an hour altogether in training mode. I extended the cord out all the way as well, don’t know if that was the issue before as it was a bit of a tangled mess when it first happened. I don’t know whether to replace it or not.

Just wanted to add I’ve had this happen too, and I’m using a 360 SE modded

Mine is from the April batch and I’ve had no flaws with any buttons yet.
