Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick for Wii by Madcatz confirmed

cool. i guess the stick is just looser, which i am ok with.

Quick question. I skimmed through thread but didn’t really find an answer.

Are Sanwa buttons/stick pretty much plug and play or is any soldering or rewiring involved?

They typically have 0.110 lugs for quick disconnect, at least this is the case with the more common buttons you will buy for your respective fight sticks

IGN gives the TvC FightStick a rating of 9/10!

They got some facts wrong though. The TvC stick uses some Japanese components for the improved parts, but I don’t think it uses full Sanwa parts.

I’m concerned about the stick side of things. From what it looks like, the buttons use the same QD’s, is that right? Is a JLF plug and play as well?

i haven’t opened mine up but i’m pretty sure it’s just like the SE. so yeah.

Stick uses the same wiring harness that the JLF uses.

i really wish the community wasnt so sketched out by this stick/game. hopefully by the time the game comes out, people will understand how worth their time this is. the game is so fun, deep and great to play. still waiting to see how the online works though. you never really know until the game comes out.

ya right now i am planning to play the game with wii classic controller … if i like i might get the stick…

Thanks!

Agreed 100% I really hope this catches on.

youre prob better off getting a gamecube controller with the game. they are way cheaper if you can find them used.

Can someone provide a comparison to the Wii Fighting Stick by Hori? If the extra $30 doesn’t get me $30 in quality and durability, then I’ll just get the cheaper stick.

oh, mm … is the classic wii controller inferior to gamecube controller or something?

BIG difference in quality. AND durability, as well as mod potentional. you gotta cut the fuck out of the JLF to use it in the hori and dremil for the buttons too. Not worth it - also the TvC stick is also heavier.

No. Use a classic controller. lol.

I have to say… the TvC fightstick is pretty slick! I LOVE the matte finish on the art, no more finger prints to wipe off after a play session, AND it feels nice to the touch. I’ve had one problem thus far though.

I bought 2 TvC sticks. One from the Capcom store, and one from Gamestop. I received the one from the Capcom store this afternoon, opened it up, tested it on SFII Turbo on my Wii, worked great. Afterwords, I felt inclined to buy a second one for the TvC release this Tuesday. Since I’m having a get together with some friends, it would be nice to have two fightsticks to play on. Anyhoo, I went out to the closest Gamestop that had one. Got home to test it out, and the B button wasn’t working… it was dead. So I called Gamestop and asked if I could get it exchanged, but that happened to be the only one they got in. But they told me I could exchange it at another Gamestop, so they looked it up on their computer for me. Turns out the closest one was about an hour drive. I thought, what the hell, so I drove out and exchanged it.

At the end of it all, the one I exchanged it was in working order. Now armed to the teeth, I’m ready for this week =) Hope everyone who was able to get the TvC stick, won’t have to go through the trouble I did.

uh i personally like the GC controller better. the control stick is in a better position to move. the classic controller is set up like a playstation controller, which i dont like. also the gamecube stick is really nice for fighting games since its 8 way. but its just preference.

I second the use of a classic controller for tvc. GC controller is garbage for tvc.

Playing the Japanese version I agree 100%. This game is extremely fun and also has enough depth for a competitive scene. Unfortunately, I think the problem isn’t the game or the stick, it is simply the platform it appears on. Even the “system wars” bullshit affects the fighting game community I have seen.

yo i dont think any one noticed… but the TvC OEM buttons will accept sanwa microswitches!! I personally didnt like the feel of the stock buttons and when i opened it up to change my ball top I found out i could swap some sanwa switches in there. with my clear ball top and my first six buttons equipped with sanwa switches… im ready for tuesday!!
