Heh, the X and O functions on Japanese PS2 games are reversed as well! O is the confirm button, and X is the cancel in the system menu and game menus.
EBgames/Gamestop stores in Canada are starting to recieve these.
My store got 4 in yesterday.
It was my first time seeing it in real life.
First impressions: stock buttons and stick feel higher quality than the SF4 Standard Edition stick, and the image on top feels amazing. Everything seems improved over the SE for 360 and PS3. good job Madcatz/Markman/all involved.
you guys have a loose stick? Mine is tighter than my stock SE.
Ok so i did further tests with smash bros brawl and couldn’t get anything to work on that game. When i plug the stick into the wiimote the only thing that lets me know its working at all is the blue lights the turn on when i press the buttons (tho the last 2 buttons don’t activate the lights). On the character select screen whenever i pluged the stick in the hand to choose your character would appear but i couldn’t move it (i had it set to LS and everything). After a few moments the stick and wiimote would deactivate like with guilty gear.
I am starting to wonder if my stick arrived defective? I noticed the balltop on the stick had what appeared to be dents on it when i opened the box. I didn’t really care about that (they were minor) but i had to deal with the whole first generation SE stick fiasco and I’m going to be pissed if this is a similar situation.
I think it is something wrong with your stick since mine worked fine for Brawl.
Is the button layout the standard layout for TvC?
Ah then I think it really must be defective. I wonder if I am an isolated case or if there will be others with my problem. With madcatz’s history i wouldn’t doubt if im not the only one. It was ordered for me by a friend from gamestop.com emailing them to see if i can exchange it at a store here.
mine is hella loose. ive gotten used to it though. the switch is what really matters. and that feels great.
just to give an update, i just exchanged my stick at a local gamestop and the new stick works PERFECTLY so i did somehow get a defective stick.
Korvis: Glad you got it worked out!
LOL yeah actually when the box came I was like “WTF DID I ORDER? I HAVEN’T ORDERED ANYTHING…ESPECIALLY A BOX THIS BIG!” and I opened it and was like “OH FUCK! I FORGOT KIKI BOUGHT THIS FOR ME!”
oh haaaay, i want a girl named kiki.
shieeet.
especially one that’d buy me sticks!
one time a girl bought me a stick for christmas (this was like 10 years ago), and then we ended up having a kid.
true story.
lol.
Love the stick for some reason it is not being recognized by the JPN version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom…I’ve tried every button combo I can think of and it’s still not working. Hopefully it’s not defective since I snagged the only one my store got in.
That’s odd, I’ve tested it many times with US and JPN version of TVC. It works on both!
I think I know why.
Thought I’d share my unboxing of this.

If the stick has Omron microswitches, what about the buttons?
That’s three defective sticks in the thread already.
Thank you for your concise and informative contribution
I received mine from Amazon this morning. Opened it up but haven’t played on it yet. I don’t really have any fighting games on the Wii to test it on, but I’ll probably test it on some Streets of Rage games until Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom arrives.
