Great post dude…Akuma of Seattle right there! I’m glad that your actually understanding the thought towards it…The other Akuma’s in Seattle are to analytical for me:sweat:
I love how there was like 1 or 2 posts of actual mixups and the rest were either love for the thread or disscusions on dmg and the like lol.
In an attempt to keep to the topic…I’ve been playing Akuma for about a week now, and I’m making it a point to have these mixups because I realize that this is where Akuma shines.
I’m obviously late on the empty Demon Flip - Ultra/Super lol, but I noticed that when I do it a couple times and grab, I train ppl to try to tech my grab but that won’t work when I got Ultra/Super hahaha!!..oh lol.
I also like to use the Demon Flip in both corners because on the left corner it doesn’t land behind them and I catch them blocking the wrong way. I’m still kind of at a loss when I get a knockdown though, since I still don’t know all the possible mixups…but it’s coming along quite nicely. I got to 27k BP with Bison and am playing Akuma there as well and am pretty happy with Akuma.
The most annoying thing about this to me is, if you play online, sweep after tatsu is not particularly useful because 9/10 of everyone you fight is one of the characters it doesn’t hit(ryu, ken, blanka).
Yep. I usually get the most use out of it against Sagat.
^ I use it against chuns and hondas because I’ve been seeing alot more of them lately. Against Sagat I honestly go for the SRK after a HP->LK tatsu because the dmg is worth it but if I start my BnB with cLP->cLP->cLK I go for Sweep because the mix-up is worth it for me. Plus it spaces the HK demon flip reallllly ambiguous and deep.
Good post I will be using this in my future matches!
Thanks for the list.
One correction though, it does wok on Fuerte.
Sorry, can’t make vid to prove it. Only know it works 'cuz my bro flat out showed me.
Thanks again/Hope that helps.

can anyone tell me how to land lk tatsu > sweep more consistently? sometimes i randomly whiff.
Doesnt work on ryu.
ok lets say i had a controller ordered and i just found out it had a turbo button…would i be able to use it to improve my hitting this combo in a match to 100% [roundhouse loop]
ive never had a turbo button before does it repeat button combinations is what im askin i guess… and i can do almost all of akumas combos but this one really is hard to land for me anyway would the turbo do it for me?and is it considered unfair if it could?not like id be boosting with numerous xbox’s just getting help with one combo
what does this have to do with tatsu->sweep, knockdown, or mixups?
You’re probably gonna get neg repped for such a stupid question.
Anyways yeah, turbo will improve your loop, you’re not gonna get it 100% tho.
Most importantly you’re not gonna learn jack shit by using turbo. It’s lame.
plus aren’t turbo inputs banned in console tournaments?
i can do it in training half the time but cant seem to get it down on xbox…and i thought someone mentioned doing it this earlier [lp>hk] on in this post
guess i might as well learn it the old fashioned way then, will probably take just the same amount of effort to learn it the turbo way
really neg rep noooooooooo… it was akuma related at least and i was only askin if turbo improved combos for akuma mainly lp>hk ie; does it mash one button repeatidly or a certain preset combo ive never used one before
I have seen custom turbo buttons that can hit the button every frame for a 60 FPS game. Though it is kind of sad if you are letting a controller play the game for you.
As a non-Akuma main using person, what is the most common kick used for the tatsu mixup?
When do you start the motion? I try to do the motion as I’m falling down, right in front of their face, but I’m not positive that’s the correct location.
usually roundhouse is the one most agreed on using. u do the motion and input the kick just as ur over the opponents head. practice the spacing its almost a full character model away from your opponent but a little shy of that.
Cross-up Tatsu is HK. Try starting it at the peak of your jump, just over their head.
Could someone explain the timimg for the Light Tatsu > Sweep? I can maybe do 1 out 30 attempts if I’m that lucky. Also is there any visual cues I should look out for certain characters?
just wait till akuma lands, and plink sweep immediately. takes practice is all
