Oh my god, the nostalgia.
What’s with the damage on that Task arrow assist, holy jeebus…
And of course, Wolverine…
same team different dude against tokido… you can get some very good hit confirms and mixups with tatsu assist

That was some damn good Task/Akuma play. You could see the frustration at trying to get around the shield skills after shield skills after shield skills, and the zoning was on point.
Task is so underrated, which is odd, because everyone thinks he’s good.
yeah it was almost impossible to find this video… I stayed to 4am last night searching for it. with akuma he can do a alot of annoying shit including chip someone to death
Dark Hole, I swear does similar stuff. But Akuma assist is better against zoners, and it moves them to the corner crazy fast, I’ve noticed. The blockstrings are really pushy with Tatsus on your side.
not to mention its a very good happy bday assist against sloppy players… havent played taskmaster that long but his footies are pretty darn mean with that assist…

yawn. boring. doom and taskmaster can swap positions and the team will still function.

EXCELLENT! this team can virtually be played in any order, and has a healthy serving of cheap tactics. one of my favorite teams!
not a very popular team, but this trio can be very smothering.

not exciting at all.
GODLIKE
I’m kind-of really impressed that missile and Ammy are not only matching, but referencing the exact same dog from Okami.
Spoilers: All of Missile’s alternate colors are Amaterasu colors
Oh hey, that’s badass. I never played much PW, other than week 1 of Ultimate, but I played Ammy for a while entirely for the Ume skin. That attention to detail with the flower is just so cool.
On a whim last night I ran task mag akuma and REALLY liked it! Tatsu task isn’t new to me, but id never messed with disruptah task. Anyone have some exp with this and have any fun tricks with it? Honestly, I assumed it would just be a screen control and assist sniping tool, with tatsu being the real combo/mixup assist. But figured I might as well see if anyone else has had some success with a magnetic taskmaster.
Just curious, when you do shield skills + tatsu and they block, how do you tend to follow that up? Spidey Swing gives them a free air grab, cM poke easily blocked. Vs good defenders sometimes im wondering if I dont need to just back up and hope to connect next time : /
I like to do task’s unblockable attack ffs on block.
since i’m branching out to different teams lately, i’ve been looking for good character to pair up with tony. i’m thinking Sent/Task/Mag, Task/Mag/Doom, or maybe Task/Mag/Akuma. anyway, opinions opinions!
Um, I’m kinda not experienced with Tatsu and Task, but Dark Hole is a similar principle, just a bit more stationary. So, you can do a lot off it, though you might have less time with Tatsu to do stuff, or I might possibly have less time, because to keep the string, I go from shield skills and Dark Hole call into one light arrow, keeping them in place. Then, there’s stuff. Also, some of this stuff I’m working on getting stronger, so if there’s something I missed/got wrong, please call me out. Any tips are also appreciated. I haven’t tested this all with Tatsu yet, but I know it works with Dark Hole.
Mixups: Spidey Swing (if you can get air grabbed by it, dang, I usually cannot, they’re in a hole at the time), I can go into backHS and go into either lows, a throw or a second spidey swing, cancelled by charging arrows, into a throw or another low. Longer it lasts, more mixups there are. You might be able to get a safer swing in the corner, but midscreen I don’t think you have the time to get close without being airgrab bait.
Swing Cancelling: Cancels attempts to advancing guard, and lets you start other strings up close. But yeah, I don’t see many mixups off of this, other than they block, you walk, throw.
Advancing Guard Baiting: cr. Normals into swings into cancels, or I’m assuming a bunch of cr.L’s would do it, just keep fucking with them until they walk into a normal. I am not good at this kind of stuff with Tasky yet, so I’ve got nothing specific, though if someone has some bitchin’ advancing guard baits, I’d love to hear them.
Or, unrelated stuff that I can’t do as well with Dark Hole, and I kinda like both of these, QCF+H (full charge) for frames like crazy, or a second Shield Skills and a Sharp Sting for forced chip.
Edit: And bloodabeast, I like Mag/Task/Akuma, Task/Doom/Mag, Task/Haggar/Magneto (my love of haggar, I’m biased), or Task/Magneto/Drones, just a few random thoughts.
If they opponent blocks Shield Charge and the following Tatsu Assist then you have a few options to pursue. I usually keep enforcing a string of attacks. For example, when shield charge recovers I usually dash in with this series: cr. L, cr. M, st. H (now on st. H Taskmaster is 0 on block which makes him perfectly safe). From there I usually do might swing + my Dante assist (Jam Session), but I cancel mighty swing by charging M Aim Master until Task reaches the ground so the arrows never leave (this tends to keep Taskmasters momentum moving and takes him to the ground safely). If your opponent still hasn’t bothered to push-block by now, repeat with Akuma’s assist. The second option I do while the opponent is blocking the assist is normal jump up/forward with Taskmaster and come down with j. H or j. S then go for cr. L and continue into the string said previously. The third option is really fun to do because the opponent may be used to your low pressure by the time you try this. While the opponent is blocking the assist dash in with Taskmaster but as soon as Taskmaster’s momentum stops throw in a forward H for a forward throw. After that it would depend on your assist to pick up after the throw or you can tk a Legion Arrows hyper. Once the opponent sees this for the first time they may try to tech it the second time you try to do this but this time you can pretend to throw but quickly throw out a cr. L and catch the opponent off-guard and not blocking low. If you done feel comfortable at the time by rushing down in strings you can always start charging those aim masters for free chip.
Edit: Shit, didn’t see DukeofFortuneMan’s post with similar stuff.
Well, I’m glad we said similar stuff. Means I wasn’t completely off base. Wasn’t sure if Tatsu’s pushback allowed for all the options Dark Hole does.
But yeah, the main mixup isn’t high/low, it’s throw/low, and chip all the while.
And Hayden, not sure if you’ve done this a bunch, how is Aim Master Up while Akuma pushes them away? In theory it sounds like they’re stuck for a free approach again, but I’m not sure if I’m just imagining what I want to imagine.
Haven’t read dukes or haydens replies yet, will read and comment in a sec. But first things first, my brotha in magnetism bloodabeast in the task forum! If you check out the post I just put in the mag threads, ull see my “opinions opinions!” pretty clearly. And since task mag akuma is one of ur potential choices, I feel obligated to tell you in the short time I’ve been running that squad, I’ve had some of the most fun I’ve ever had in marvel, and also obliterated my regular opponents with it, and that was before even exploring all the synergies (not including tatsu task, which I have some exp with).
So yeah, even if u don’t continue with it, DEFINITELY TRY IT! Tatsu task is extremely powerful, but imo it works best when task also has a long range assist (I used to use missiles, but didn’t much dig tatsu doom, and missiles akuma is bomb but too fragile). that way attacking with tatsu or running with ranged assist are far less obvious/telegraphed because whichever they’re prepared for, u can do the other. So you can cleverly use the beam/missiles when they run from tatsu+skillz, and the tatsu+skillz when they work their way in past the long range assist.
And then you get basically the same voodoo with mag via arrows and tatsu. And the above mentioned magneto post asks luis for some of his tatsu mag tactics. Here’s hoping he (or you if uve got stuff) answers! And if/when u do try the team, let us know how goes, just to see if its just me, or if the team really IS that fun/strong.
DukeofFortuneMan: Hmm… I haven’t tried to do H aim master but I could see the potential. I’m just worried it could be too slow or the distance isn’t right. But, I will try it out in the lab.
