Taskmaster Matchup and Team building thread

I like to have my Taskie be the meter builder while Felicia is the meter eater, but then again both are great meter builders, I guess it’s all gonna come down to who I like in front since hey both compliment each other so well >.<.

I was wondering may I ask, is Tatsu stronger for Task and Felicia or the Cart?

Felicia has some nice resets and can combo off of a air throw she needs those though because she does very little damage my bnb with her was :m::h: (or cr. :m: cr.:h: ) :s: S.J. :m::m::h::rdp::h: (H Delta Kick) land :s: S.J. :m::m::h::s: :b:(Charge):f::h: (H Sand Splash) [cancel] :qcf:2x:atk: [Dancing Flash]{mash} afterwards the opponent will be in the air which you can go for an air grab reset and instead of canceling into [Dancing Flash] if you have the meter and it will kill them you can cancel into :qcb:2x:atk: [Please Help Me]

well considering that i think the Cart is better imo it’s faster and harder to punish but you have to find setups for Frank to get to Level 4 (which is what you want to get to more than anything)

Could u make a video of this? I would love a video where u show task bnb’s with akuma assist extensions, and uses of tatsu assist outside of combos. I also use task/akuma and would love to see more synergy since i don’t seem to have much :confused:

I think I’m going to do it. I can’t promise it’ll be soon, but after I take care of a bit of school stuff I’ll make a video showing some Taskmaster and Akuma stuff.

I am running Wolvie, Task, Wesker at the moment. I moved in Task for Doom(character crisis, I played Task day 1 but switched…), what I am wondering is if there is really any practical reason to use Wesker OTG assist for Task. It has to be there for Wolvie but after trying some stuff in training I have not found any much better situations than just doing the Task BnBs when I catch someone.

I am just trying to get some ideas here as I really feel I am missing something…which is pretty much standard operating procedure for me. (I’m as sharp as a marble sometimes)

I actually use this team sometimes and the otg gun assist is really good for the team since you can do the Fatal Claw loop and you can use it for Task’s Sting Master though with the Sting Master into otg assist can only be done mid-screen (he jumps over the opponent when you call him in the corner in the corner) but you can do what I do in the corner which is :m:, :h:, :f::h:, :f::h: xx :qcf::m:, (Land) :h:, :b::h:, :s:, (Air) :m:, :m:, :h:, :f::h:, :m:, :h:, :s: (As soon as you can) :a2: (Wesker otg), :b::h: xx :qcf::s:, j.:qcf::h:, :qcf::m:+:h:

no problem also if you can DHC into Wesker (but make sure it can hit don’t want to just waste a bar and be vulnerable) from Task say you did a :f::h: and hit them too high to land on the ground so you just go into :qcf::l:+:m: or :qcf::l:+:h: then DHC’d into Maximum Wesker you now have Wesker with no glasses plus the ability for Wesker teleport crossup antics with Task’s arrows

Practicing the above combo, you can do this in the corner. Timing is extremely strict (at least for me) but if you dash back at the earliest possible moment and call Wesker it will OTG in the corner. I can’t get it to land consistently but it does work…might not on the whole cast haven’t tested everyone out yet.

you don’t need to dash back unless it is a tiny character (I lost a tournament because I dropped the above combo due to Rocket Raccoon’s height) the timing is only strict on the :f::h:, :f::h: xx :qcf::m: the second Mighty Swing needs to be done after he says “Mighty” (so what you will hear is “Mighty, Mighty Swing”) and the same timing for the arrows

Who do you guys think are better BFF’s? Taskmaster/Doom or Taskmaster/Akuma? I’m thinking of running either Taskmaster, Doom, Wesker or Taskmaster, Wesker, Akuma. I’m leaning towards Taskmaster, Doom, Wesker.

Doom makes any team good but considering all them are good it is all preference. one thing though with either of those teams I would run it DTW WTD WTA or TAW

Thanks for the suggestion. Whats wrong with Taskmaster Doom Wesker or Taskmaster Wesker Doom? If I use Doom, fully intended on running Taskmaster on point. The Akuma team I’m comfortable starting Wesker or Taskmaster.

The problem with both those is no good DHCs which is really good for team synergy. Taskmaster is one of the best characters to DHC into since he can do it from pretty much anywhere but he definitely isn’t the best to DHC from because the majority of his combos end with OTG Legion Arrows which the majority of hypers do not OTG (from DHCing) so there’s no real DHC potential. Taskmaster can be played on point and is good anywhere on a team (i.e. Mo0Ns), but with Wesker who can easily ocv a team (with the great assists of Task and Doom) or have Doom rush in with tri-dashes and Foot Dives using Task’s arrows to cover him and the dreaded Level 4 X-Factor Wesker. Wesker you want on Anchor or Point he isn’t the best assist slot because his only real useful assist is the OTG gun which is really only used to extend combos. and for reference DTW is a great counter-pick to Zero. Zone with Doom’s lazers and plasma beams with Task assist and if they manage to get above you, Tell them “Eff You!” and Sphere Flame them up the ass.

Recently picked up Taskmaster and putting him alongside Dorm (Dark Hole) on point and Akuma (Tatsu) as anchor. Primarily a Dorm team with a projectile (H. Shot) and GTFO/lockdown assist (Tatsu). I like the fact that this team can both zone and rushdown.

Much fun training with the trio, though I’m still practicing that Taskmaster 2 Super BnB. It seems tougher to do midscreen than the corner sometimes. Does anyone else feel the same?

I have no problem DHCing from Taskmaster to Doom. Only time it’s a problem is from full screen. If I get a hit with Taskmaster, his combos will always bring them to the wall. So I can just call Wesker’s otg into Shield Skill -> Sharp Sting, jump down arrows into diagonal arrow super which allows me to DHC to Doom’s Sphere Flame. So DHCing isn’t really a problem. Matter of fact, after the combo, Double Arrows super does more damage if you mash then DHCing to Doom. So I don’t see that being an issue.

I do know that Wesker as anchor is great. That’s why I thought about Taskmaster Doom Wesker. But I actually like playing Wesker and he’s probably my best character, so I put him second. I actually have more success ocv’ing teams with level 2 Xfactor Wesker then I do level 3 Xfactor Wesker. That’s another reason I like this team. I think it can viably be played in any order.

yeah it’s all a matter of personal taste and if you feel that that should be be the order then by all means go for it. I was just giving you my point of view as a tourney player. Good luck to ya. =)

No need to dhc to Doom, as you can get 3 arrows using missiles for 1.1mil~

Theres also the option of TAC and finishing off with Doom. Im running the Task/Doom/Wesk team right now too and its a good option.

I’ve been messing around with my team and so far I’ve been doing leagues better with Doom (Beam) / Task (V.Arrows) / 3rd Character. I’m used to using V.Arrows in my resets and rush down since vanilla (pissed they got rid of the down momentum off the arrows) so I guess it may be that since no one really faces it, I have a little bit of an advantage. However, I want to pick a third and I’m having trouble fitting the anchor spot. The 3 contenders are

  1. Ammy (Cold Star): Tried and true team combo but I feel like Ammy has some trouble as an anchor even though Cold Star is an amazing assist for both of my current characters. My Ammy is terrible and I’m willing to get her better, but it seems like she doesn’t quite fit the anchor spot as well as I would have hoped (unless you have meter to burn on Mist). Anyone who uses her, any advice on how to make this team better or any thoughts on its effectiveness?

  2. Nova (Overhead Kick Assist): This thing makes Doom near unblockable since you can ground people with photon shot and hidden missiles, and then high-low them all day. Plus, Taskmaster Shield Skills ( :b: + :h: ) + Nova Assist xx :s: or Sting Master ( :d::df::f: + :s: ) --> dash xx cr.:l: is really good at grounding people and then doing a high-low unblockable. Nova’s assist also makes for some really nasty resets for Doom. The only problem is that he is so freaking unsafe when not covered by assists that anyone I play against pretty much simply XFC after they block something and then game over for me. Makes it hard to open people up when you know they are one smart block away for beating you.

  3. Spencer (Slant Grapple): A battle tester anchor and we know that the resets you can make with Doom and this assist are diabolical. He seems to have moderate synergy with Task (makes tick throws super dangerous, extend corner combos easily and DHC synergy but doesn’t help in opening people up regarding mixups, which is something that Task needs in my opinion)

  4. I was also thinking Akuma or Wesker for obvious reasons

Any advice would be appreciated!
