jump back H is a good way to deal with ammy rushdown
Taskmaster+X-Factor 3, good all crazy and spam Mighty swing into Medium slash
One other thing about the Solar Flare, if you shoot 2 arrows, one will cancel out the other if reflected, so it’s safer than shooting 1 or 3… This also works against Hsien Ko’s Henkyo Ki (gong).
Nah dude. The issues isn’t speed. The issue is the rules of the game. You are only allowed one wall bounce per combo. Spencer’s otg wall bounces. So if you end the first part of your combo with that, then do Armor Piercer into Bionic Maneuvers, there is your wall bounce. Actually, this very rule is what allows you to get Bionic Maneuvers after the Armor Piercer in the first place. Ever notice how when you use Armor Piercer raw, it wall bounces but then when you do the corner combo it doesn’t? That’s because you have already used a wall bounce by otging with Spencer. You only get one wall bounce per combo. So when you do the dhc glitch to Taskmaster and call out Spencer with Armor Piercer to continue your the combo, the combo will end. You need Spencer using an assist that doesn’t wall bounce. The diagonal grapple assist is best because it leaves the opponent standing right in front of you for you to land a (pretty close to) full Taskmaster combo. Just start the combo with Mighty Swing and go from there. The dhc glitch resets damage and hit stun scaling, but it doesn’t reset wall bounces. One is all you get.
uhh.
i like
Cap(any assist other than Stars and stripes)
/Task (aerial Arrows)
/Skrull (Doesnt matter)
With cap if you do his Shield Slash OTG combo starter and then somewhere in the mix throw in Task assist and it works wonders.
…works well… with everything. i can usually finish a life bar with task on his own, if not ill team combo in into skrull and srk into that big fireball move.
and skrull is fine.
I feel like putting up my new team up, found some synergy and its working really well
This may (for you marvel 2 heads) sound familiar to you as this I feel is the new version of “Team Scrub” or Genghis’s Sub Team
Taskmaster as the lead (Subbing in for Cable) one of the top 3 controllers of ground space that I can see in this game, Deadly overall, punishes opposition mistakes… with Impunity. Builds more meter than he uses obviously and can deal crazy good amounts of chip damage as well. The first cog in a team meant to frustrate the hell out of people
Dante as the Killer (filling in Captian Commandos AA assist) if there is any character in the game that you should be afraid of, its probibly Magneto Wesker or Dante Right? Dante can take advantage of extremely solid zoning fundimentals as well as being flashy, all while having loads of meter to do it with as well. Has a swiss army knife full of tools to control space well
Sentinel as the Assist (starring as himself) He can still fill the anchor role quite well (Gets a DHC glitch from Dante if you’d like) and Drones helps with this teams Dumbed down effectiveness in controlling space and moreso staying safe while on the offensive or defensive. Do Not Sleep On the Robot as the point character. period. His control of the sky is way way too good to ignore. He can still Fly\Unfly and if you can corner an opponent, he does have a TERRIFYING grapple game as well.
^Genghis has been running that team already hasnt he?
I know he switches Dante and Mags in and out though.
He does, I did say that it was his Sub team
Starting to second guess Taskmaster’s vertical arrows as an assist. What assist would be best when paired with Haggar and Chris.
I’m usually full screen away with chris. And of course trying to get in with Haggar.
Haggar needs an assist that covers horizontal ground (Doom beam, Iron man beam, Sentinel Drones etc). He’s pretty much useless without one.Because of this Horizontal arrows are you best choice here. The arrows will help give you cover whilst you do Cr.H to start an offense with Haggar.
Now what assist do you use for chris?Having the task arrows makes chris’ gunfire assist obsolete.Maybe you could get some mileage out of the chris punch assist to extend combos?I dont really know the uses for the mine.
Also I would recommend having Haggar 1st with Task 2nd so you can do the DHC glitch starter with Haggar and end with Task.
Yeah I swap in task or Haggar first depending on who I’m fighting.
What’s this dhc glitch Haggar?
Chris’ assist is gunfire, I do use it for extra chip damage with Task. But it does come out rather slow. We’ll see what I get out of Boulder Punches and/or Mine and report back.
Hoodlum Launcher. Hoodlum Launcher is valid for the DHC trick; super cancel it, cancel that to Aegis Counter.
…wait what? Hoodlum’s a special move not a hyper… ok. I’m lost here. I’m missing something here.
You don’t need to start it from a hyper, only something that will put them in a ‘capture’ state. The most obvious of these are cinematic hypers, but those aren’t the only valid moves for it. If you cancel a valid non-hyper move to a hyper, then immediately DHC that hyper while they’re still in a ‘capture’ state, they’ll act just as they would as if you DHC’d from a valid cinematic hyper. Other, particularly noteworthy ways to initiate the DHC trick from a non-Hyper move are off of Dante’s grapple, Amaterasu’s throws and counters, and Magneto’s Hyper Grav.
alright… just to make sure I understood it:
I land a Hoodlum Launcher L.
I immediatley go into Giant Haggar Press.
immediatley DHC into Aegis Counter opponent is now twirling.
proceed to combo appropriately.
As of some play on the last 2 days I definitely agree with Dacidbro saying that Task/Dante is a match made in heaven. I have the world’s scrubbiest Dante after I get a hit and they’re still amazing, it seems that horizontal assist of Taskmaster’s really helps cover a lot of gaps for other characters.
Not to mention that assist sets up Dante’s teleport beautifully. It’s felecia-esque in how ambiguous it gets!
How many people use Taskmaster as an anchor? I thought it would be a hefty amount of players but it seems like it’s not actually. Well I run Wesker (Samurai Edge), Dante (Jam Session), Taskmaster (H arrows). Great set-up, where if I touch you once with Wesker, for first character dies. Task extends combos, as does Dante. Dante can also help create serious mixup opportunities. I rushdown hard with Wesker and Dante but if I get down to Taskmaster, people seriously are confused at how hard I camp. But he does an easy job of combo-ing for himself. Plus he is a pain in lvl 3 XFC, especially if the opponent doesn’t have XFC, I can shoot arrows all day and there isn’t much you can do. A favorite thing of mine to do sometimes is let them begin a blockstring on me, lvl 3 XFC xx Aegis Counter, otg with Legion Arrows. Does so much damage and usually they’re dead and I can begin my mixup on the next character.
Speaking of which, Taskmaster doesn’t have the greatest mixup. The only one I’ve been able to work on is after killing one character, shoot a charged vertical aim master and wave dash in. The spread of the arrows makes it extremely difficult to pushblock and I come in either with a low attack, high attack, wait and grab, or wait and punish.
I use Task on point usually. Though sometimes I will have him Anchor with Chris on point. Haggar is typically always second.
Depends on who I’m fighting really.
Taskmaster is often my anchor because I love his H.Arrow assist. So he is basically my assist character but him as an anchor is sick.
