Tales of Dark & Light: The SNK storylines-Revived

Ei guys just wonderin’ does the ninja in Mai stage(FF: Special) have a name?

Not that I recall it. Maybe it’s a random guy.

I’m curious about something. This isn’t story-related, but… what part did SNK take in the production of the PS-X RPG, Koudelka?

Is Kyo’s girlfriend still alive? Because I was read a kof comic(kof zillion)and she was alive. Shouldn’t she be dead since kof97?

i think yuki is alive, but i could be wrong. i think that when yashiro said that he needed to sacrifice yuki to bring back orochi, he didn’t actually do it. remember, in the myth, kusanagi’s g/f doesn’t die. orochi awakens when yashiro and shermie kill themselves

Read the KOF 2001 game prolouge at KOF Online. She’s still alive.

Nakkurusu is right on.

In the official KOF 2001 prologue for the Japan Team, Benimaru tells Kyo something about “calling Yuki”, which definetly means she is alive and well. Unless Kyo has some online phone with the netherworld.

SNK did produce Koudelka, but since it was around the dark times of SNK’s pitiful last attempts at PS games (like SS: Warriors’ Rage, eeeeeew), it was not very noticed. :bluu:

I’ve been contemplating these questions for awhile now(they are pretty tough so bare with me here):

  1. What exactly are all the applications of the Kusanagi/Yagami flames(besides being able to inflict pain upon otherwise invinsible entities)? There has to exist a beneficial reason as to why NESTS so adhesivly stuck to their cloning plans despite their several failures and mishaps.

  2. It is mentioned in the KOf 2001 comics that K9999 has only mimicked the “flame” aspect of K’s power while undoubtedly losing the “Kusanagi” attribute in the cloning process as a result of being the 9999th clone. Is this in anyway true? Also, what are the beneficial aspects of K9999’s evolution as opposed to the non-evolved K’, Kyo, and Krizalid(if any)?

  3. Lastly, is “anti-k” just a title or is Kula’s ice power truly anti Kusanagi?

  1. Quite frankly Master NESTS didn’t do research. Kyo’s flames harm Orochi because of destiny and bloodline. Otherwise it’s just fire. But all NESTS probably saw was:

“Orochi = god. Kusnagi flame > Orochi. Kusnagi flame = powerful.”

  1. Meh… Comics = crap.It may be a good way to cover that up, but Eoltih just wanted a Tetsuo tribute and didn’t think that far ahead.

  2. Because she was desgined to fight K’. Too bad if they equiped someone with water or a fire extinguisher It would work just as well as ice. Though ice and fire technically nuetalize each other.

'97’s “weapons of god” ending, and 2001’s japan team prolouge…go against each other…

Yuki was one of the girls needed to revive the orochi, the eigth headed serpent.

SNK only published Koudelka…the real developer/producer of the game is known as Sacnoth Digital Entertainment.

1.)He hates Kyo because Kyo’s dad killed Iori’s dad right in front of him

2.)He didtn give up…

3.)its became better, but if they were thrown in a room together either 2 things would happen they would Partner up and escape together or they would fight to the death

even though he posted this 5 days ago,but who really cares?

I’d like to know something.

What’s the deal with Hon-Fu? I know that he’s Yamazaki’s personal whipping bitch, but after playing as him in RBFF2, I’m beginning to wonder how the hell can a policeman can actually be this incompetent. Not saying he sucks at fighting, but come on, he actually hits himself in the nuts while doing a move!

You make it sound as if Master NESTS is a senile old man whose train of thought coincides with that of a muscle bound fool.

Example:
Master NESTS: Me create K’. Flame hurt god. K’ use flame. K>god. I control K’. me>K’ and K>god. Ha, ha, ha. Now K’ turn rebellious. Me now mad. Me create anti-K. anti-K>K’. Me happy again(and so on and so forth)

Although I do not doubt you I still do not coincide completely with your beliefs. While Master NESTS may be intellectually challenged I still believe that there is more to the Kusanagi flames than meets-the-eye.

But if you recall, the last maiden was not sacrificed. Also, Yashiro never said he actually DID kill Yuki, just that she was needed for the final resurrection of Orochi. If Yuki was dead, then the whole KOF '97 tournament would not be needed.

Racer-X: I don’t know about Saisyu ever killing Iori’s father. I just think Iori is a bitter guy who likes to throw up a ruckus at the smallest sign.

Igatona: I think Hon Fu is like one of those “joke characters” who don’t suck like Dan (like Shingo or pre-3S Sean). Because although he is FAR from useless (heck, he was top tier in RBFF JUST with his DP + A), he acts like a true dork. I don’t know why, really. He has a nice background (former partners killed after trying to capture Yamazaki), yet he comes out like some joker. I mean, even in his RB ending, he is Yamazaki’s bitch (he trips over after chasing Yamazaki).

RamirezP: It is a given that Kusanagi blood is a great source of power, for whatever reason. It’s kinda like extracting the blood of a Saiya-Jin. Excluding the fact that it is needed to seal the Orochi power, it also contains great power by itself. So, NESTS thought it would be a great idea to clone him and make an army of super powered beings.

Obviously, though, things didn’t come out as expected right away. Since a normal human body can’t contain the Kusanagi blood, K’ needed a gauntlet to keep himself from going out of control. Krizalid was supposed to be a more ‘perfect’ version of K’, a human who could contain the Kusanagi power. Then, K9999 was supposed to be a completely artificial being with Kusanagi power. So, in short, K’ and Krizalid are actual persons, while K9999 is a tube child.

So, basically, NESTS was searching for the perfect Kyo clone all along, BUT Igniz tried to keep the data for himself and become an ultimate entity. The year that they got it right (KOF 2001) was the year they were vanquished. Nice timing!

[As quoted from issue 18 of the KOF 2001 comics]

“Well, the fact is that after analysis by our quality control department, even this 9999th warrior has shown to be below our expectations.” Dr. Zeng rebuked as he looked up to a tube containing a weird looking man. “Moreover, he has only inherited the ‘flames’ portion of his original and thus this is definitely an inferior product. The best option is to keep him frozen forever.”

"Moreover, he has only inherited the ‘flames’ portion of his original and thus this is definitely an inferior product

I understand entirely that the KOF comics are not in any way licensed by SNK or Eolith and the above theory is simply just that; a theory.

Krizalid.

…And finally K9999

See a pattern? K9999 is the only flame wielder who has not been seen to manifest the Kusanagi fire in the palm of his hand in a ‘spirit’ like manner(suggesting that he does not use Kusanagi flames). Moreover, before a fight K9999 is seen to morph his hair from silver/platinum(K’ and Krizalid’s original hair color) to blue(Suggesting an evolution in the K gene of the 9999th clone).

Just a theory.

Hell, and the small pictures you get from the RBFF2 ending is him kicking through a window going after Yamazaki, but you don’t see the end of the conflict. For some reason, Yamazaki looks scared.

Finish the game with Yamazaki, and you’ll see the true ‘end’ of the conflict.
